I like to use Redbridge in my beer batter for deep frying. Gives it a yummy flavor but haven't been able to find it here in Colorado. My sister in law asked at a liquor store and was told it wasn't being produced anymore. Anyone got a scoop on this?

I find it hard to believe. Still available here in our local Village Market, and Nevada is the gluten state :D And it's not because nobody's buying it - they often run out.

I actually read a few articles about this just yesterday. If you google Red Bridge Beer you can do the same.

The first stated the same thing you are posting here to which I was quite pissed off.

There were other articles stating that the beer had to be reformulated due to the alcohol content being over 4%. Apparently, there are 5 states that would not allow this beer to be sold out of supermarkets due to the limit being 3.2%. So the production of the beer was shut down for a month of so during this process.

There were several quotes from Anheuser Busch's stating that the beer was not being discontinued.

I hope this is true since it is the most availble of the gluten-free beer.

I live in one of those 3.2 beer states. They have reformulated it and now none of the liquor stores will carry it. Only grocery stores. But most of them only carry a really small section of beer, so its hard to find here.

I just emailed them. i looked at the website and the stores that are supposed to carry it don't have it. Let you know if I hear anything.

Colorado is a 3.2 state so that explains it.

From reading the article I got the impression they were reformulating it so they could be sold in all states.

Maybe the new batches have started shipping yet.

And you said liquor stores won't sell it but grocery stores would if it is over 3.2%. WOW - I would assume it would be the other way around.

I live in Jersey so we only have a couple odd liquor laws.

It was reformulated to come down to 3.2%. Here grocery stores can only sell 3.2% or lower. The liquor stores won't carry 3.2 beer because its at groceries and they are cranky that way.

Wow, that sucks. I like redbridge as it is. A more watered down redbridge is not going to be so good. Are all states going to get this new version? What needs to change is silly laws, not the beers.

Got this response just now:

Dear Karen,

Thanks you for taking the time to contact Redbridge. I

Redbridge is widely available here. Walmart, and any large grocery stores have it. Of course Whole Foods and Central Market carry it.

I would love it if it tasted like Coors. I don't like a beer with a strong aftertaste, especailly if it's also a bad aftertaste, like the original Redbridge, which was terrible IMO. The new reformulated version is much better. I'm guessing they changed more than just the alcohol content.

best regards, lm

I was having to drive over to the next city or spend $12 for Grist beer at my local organic store. I was happy that my local Lowes Foods started carrying it. My local Walmart does not. I'm still waiting on the Synders pretzels...soon I hope!

My husband emailed them and got a response that they are having a tough time delivering here in Colorado but did give him the GROCERY stores in Colorado that does have them and the closest is about 40 minutes away being on our way to Denver when we go to a Rockies games....so there is hope! Being 3.2 won't bother me as long as the taste is still good.

Some liqour stores here told Hub that it wasn't available. What they mean is that if the grocery can sell it , they won't. Pffbbb!

Maybe you could email my friend Tony here that told me where they think it was recently delivered. Would be curious what he told you. I know one of the stores he said should have it, didn't. I had been there right before I got his note.

Please read KARENG's post in this thread. She has an email from the company stating it is not being discontinued.

They did stop making it for a month to reformulate it so your liquor store maybe confused.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.

Your post demonstrates the profound frustration and isolation that so many in the Celiac community feel, and I want to thank you for channeling that experience into advocacy. The medical gaslighting you endured for decades is an unacceptable and, sadly, a common story, and the fact that you now have to "school" your own GI specialist speaks volumes about the critical lack of consistent and updated education. Your idea to make Celiac Disease a reportable condition to public health authorities is a compelling and strategic one. This single action would force the system to formally acknowledge the prevalence and seriousness of the disease, creating a concrete dataset that could drive better research funding, shape medical school curricula, and validate the patient experience in a way that individual stories alone often cannot. It is an uphill battle, but contacting representatives, as you have done with Adam Gray, is exactly how change begins. By framing it as a public health necessity—a matter of patient safety and protection from misdiagnosis and neglect—you are building a powerful case. Your voice and your perseverance, forged through thirty years of struggle, are exactly what this community needs to ensure that no one else has to fight so hard just to be believed and properly cared for.
