I thought I got glutened a few days ago so I just was toughing it out with the nausea, vomiting and terrible lower abdominal pain.

But 6 days later I was getting worse and last night I started having horrible pain in my lower tummy area and my lower back. It also hurt to pee so I thought I better go to the doc.

Not only do I have a bladder infection, but because I let it go so many days it has spread to my kidneys and is extremely painful.

We CANNOT win with the flucking flacking disease!!!!! If we go in and it's a glutening we are hypochondriacs or whatever. But now I don't go in to the doc thinking it's just a glutening and end up with a horrible infection.

Can I just scream????? AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Thanks. I feel better now.

Oh no! Feel better soon! I know how you feel though...I always wait til the last minute to go to the doctor because I'm never 100% sure it's not a glutening.

You poor thing--I'm so sorry :(

I read your popcorn thread, and actually thought you had a stomach virus but hesitated to say anything for the same reason  Sometimes we can't win for losing!

Anywho--hope you feel better soon :)

Oh so sorry to hear that! I know just what you mean - I get this weird pain right where my kidneys are when I get glutened, sometimes, and I DID go to the doctor the first time, and yup - tests got nothing, so it must be in my head.

Can't win for losing, sometimes, you're absolutely right. <_<

HOpe that you recover quickly and smoothly, with lots of yummy food along the way.

Yes you can scream!!!! SO sorry to hear that!!! I actually brought a urine sample into my GI when I first had my flare (almost 2 months ago) because I don't have a GP in my new town yet. He told me to throw it out. The symptoms of Celiac (lower abdominal and back pain) are SO similar to UTI's. We're damned of we do and damned if we don't. Hang in there!!! Are you on antibiotics and rare we allowed cranberry juice on our diet?

Sending healing (((((HUGS)))))

Loey

Thank you for the advice. I’ve actually never checked for nutritional deficiencies, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve always taken vitamin and mineral supplements — otherwise my symptoms get worse. This week I stopped eating gluten to confirm whether my symptoms are really caused by it. Starting next week, I’ll reintroduce gluten — it’s sad to go back to how I was before — but at least I’ll be able to take the necessary tests properly. I think the diagnostic process will be long, but at least I’m happy that I finally decided to address this doubt I’ve had for years.

I finally got rhe answer and Tylenol is ok. Thanks everyone

Hey Julie! I was in a similar situation before my biopsy and my gastro said Tylenol was fine. Just avoid ibuprofen or anything anti-inflammatory until you're cleared. Hope your surgery goes smoothly!

I don't see how cornstarch could alter the test results. Where did you read that?

For pain relief I take a combination of Thiamine (Benfotiamine), Pyridoxine B 6, and Cobalamine B12.  The combination of these three vitamins has analgesic effects.  I have back pain and this really works.  The B vitamins are water soluble and easily excreted.   Hope this helps!  Keep us posted on your results!
