Profile Information Questions

hello...a "newbie" here and I cannot find the answer anywhere to these questions...can someone help?

When I view my own profile page, I can see the personal information I registered with (name, address, phone) and I am wondering...how do I get it off there? Or is it only visible to me?

I uploaded an avatar, and I see it has uploaded and I hit save....but I do not see it in my profile picture square.

Thanks so much!

I have been reading this forum site for many months, researching celiac issues and I have learned so much!

Welcome IrishHeart!!

Only you can see your personal information.

Your avatar and your profile picture are two different pictures . . . well, they can be the same pic, but you have to upload it again. Let me see if I can find how you do it. Be right back.

OK, go to you profile. On the far right there is a blue button that says "Edit My Profile". From there, on your left is a menu with one of the options being Change Photo. This is the profile picture. There is also a Change Avatar option. Good Luck. Let us know if you need any more help.

I, too, am no techie and I have to admit I don't know what the word "avatar" means, let alone what I'm supposed to do with it, or for it, or to it! Enlightenment needed!

An avatar can be either a personal picture you would like to post (yourself, your dog, your car, whatever floats your boat!), or it can be a representation of who you are - a cute cartoon, an animated figure (or non-). As for how to do it, I will leave that to the techies (I had to have someone do mine for me  )

Hi Luddie! an avatar is a picture, animated or otherwise that goes in the little box where your silhouette is. Hubbie helped me load the pic of our cat. If it weren't for him, I would have no computer savvy at all. He buys all the stuff, loads all the programs, teaches me how to use it ....and I retain just enough to turn the laptop on, type, and push enter...LOL LOL I told him long ago, I don't want to know HOW it works, I just want it TO work. :D Ginny

Welcome to the forum, @Jay Heying! What is the reason your doctor is recommending this?

Hello everyone, this my first time to this website and I need some help. I’m 65 years old and have been living with Celiacs for about 15 years. My doctor has suggested I start taking a probiotic named  Integrative Pro-Flora-Concentrae. Has anyone else used this probiotic specifically? If this one isn’t celiac friendly can you recommend another please. Thank you.

If a Celiac person is successful in following a gluten-free diet, they can go into remission.   They may not have a reaction to gluten without a precipitating event like an injury or infection or even emotional or mental stress.   Following a strict gluten-free diet at home, then indulging in gluten containing products abroad without a reaction can be explained by this remission.
