Are These Products Really Gluten Free?

I'm curious about whether the gluten-free products I feed my son are truly completely gluten free. Here are the gluten-free foods he often eats:

-Yoplait vanilla yogurt

-Erewhon's version of rice crispies

-the gluten-free rice crispies

-gluten-free cinnimon Chex cereal

-Welch's fruit snacks

-Walmart's Great Value brand fruit cups

-Walmart's cheese

-Fruity pebbles

-Kinnikinick cookies

-Enjoy Life cookies

-Classico pasta sauce

-Minute white rice microwaveable bowls

Has anyone reacted to any of these products before?

Chex and Fruity Pebbles certainly have a chance of CC, but, yes, all of those are supposed to be gluten-free.

The ones I bolded I HAVE NOT used so I can not answer about those but the others I have eaten with no problems at all. Many of the items you listed are either dairy products or products that would be eaten with dairy ie. cereals. Perhaps he has an issue with dairy? Is your home gluten free? He could be getting CC from gluten items others eat or use if your not really careful. Also is he a little person who plays with stuff like Playdoh? Some of those types of things are not safe for us to use.

I would agree with the above. In addition, I have had all the bold items without a problem with exception to the white rice bowls. I have never had these.

As we speak I am having a bowl of Chex Cinnimon Cereal, its my favorite, no problems what so ever, so you can check that one off the list.

There are different levels of sensitivity. While the majority might handle those foods just fine, there are a minority of celiacs/gluten intolerants who react to foods like that. We are the super sensitive celiacs. You need to be watching out for symptoms, plus blood antibody levels can be an indication of a reaction to gluten.

I was thinking the same thing. Out of your list we have not had the classico pasta sauce or the rice bowls. We have tried the Kinnikinick K-toos and animal cookies and loved them and no problems. We also tried one flavor of enjoy life cookie, while no reaction, we didn't like them. As for the rest of the list we have and do buy and eat those without incident. The cinnamon flavor in the cinnamon chex can be problematic for me. It's not the chex cereal but the flavoring as I have had issues with other products with cinnamon flavor.

I use Classico sauces (the red ones) all the time - I *might* have had issues with the olive one a while back, never tried it again. We use the mushroom one a lot.

This is always so difficult ! When one gets 'zinged' by something, it seems like everything causes a reaction - it takes a lot of sleuthing to figure things out !

I also like Classico pasta sauces. Right now I have the Italian Sausage with Peppers & Onions.

Which of the Classico® sauces are gluten-free?

All of the Classico® red and white sauces are gluten-free.

ETA: I just discovered they also have a lot of recipes on their site. Maybe that'll give me some badly-needed inspiration.

      Welcome to the forum, @Charlie1946, How long have you been diagnosed with Celiac disease? Do you take any nutritional supplements? Vitamins? Herbal medicine? Do you eat processed gluten free facsimile foods? Is your diet high in carbohydrates?   Many vitamin deficiencies can contribute to poor oral health.  Vitamin C, Cobalamine B12, Thiamine B 1, Riboflavin B 2 and Pyridoxine B6, to name a few.   For pain, a combination of Thiamine, B12 and Pyridoxine B 6 have analgesic properties.  They work together to relieve pain better than over-the-counter pain relievers, imho.

      Welcome to the celiac.com family, @Charlie1946! I have not experienced what you are going through except possibly accelerated loss of enamel and receding gums, to some extent, anyway. But I can tell you that thrush and canker sores have been reported by other members of this online community. Let me ask you some questions. First, how long ago were you diagnosed with celiac disease? Second, are you consistent with the gluten-free diet? Third, have you recently been on a course of antibiotics? Thrush often follows on the heels of being on a course of antibiotics because the antibiotics kill off the good bacteria the keep yeast and fungi in check.

      Hi, I'm new, thank you for accepting me and I apologize if this has been asked before.  I didn't realize till recently that Celiac disease affects your teeth and gums, I have always had weak teeth and bad gums. And for going on 3 months now, I have been having such severe, throbbing, burning pain in my mouth, teeth and tongue. I have spent most of the time curled up in a ball, sobbing with ice packs on my face. It's only the left side. I have been treated for sinus infections and thrush. I had a canker sore on the roof of my mouth, my tongue was coated and I had the crusty stuff in the corners of my mouth. No one knows what it is, or how to cure it. Anyone else have this?
