Cramps And Pain

When you get glutened or eat one of your trigger foods on accident, as the pain lessens, do you ever get gas with mucus? I know that I have serious corn problems but I drank 2 sodas over the weekend and ever since, I have had an armpit rash that is now bleeding and gas, cramps and mucus. It's driving me nuts! -

Ow! Don't have the gastro symptoms myself, but just wanted to give you a virtual hug for the pain. *big honkin' hug*

Do you have anything that seems to help the rash? If you have any prickly pear cactus or aloe vera plants nearby, the inner pulp of both of those has worked well on any rashes my children have had.

My gastro symptoms are fairly mild. I used to get a lot of gas, pain and mucus(either on its own or with loose stools) prior going gluten free. Now, if I get glutened, I still get the gas and the pain, but I get D instead of mucus, followed by C for a while. Seems to be a case of swings and roundabouts!

Sorry about the itchy rash. Not a fun place for it to come out.

I am exactly the opposite. I use to get D with pain and gas. Now I don't get D, I get floating stool and mucus with pain and gas. I think that the mucus forms a protective layer that keeps a toxin from getting through and when it senses gluten, it makes a lot kind of like when your nasal passages produce mucus when you have a nasal allergy or a cold.

Thanks about the rash. It's pretty uncomfortable but it's getting better day by day.

Thanks for answering.

TH - thanks for the tips for the rash! I will try them.

Gluten-Free-of you have a problem with salicylates don't use the aloe! It's very high, the prickly pear would probably be, also since its a plant.

If not, try it. Both are very soothing.

Can you describe the armpit rash? Is it spot like, scabbed, mega itchy? It is a common DH area. If it is driving you nuts you probably can describe it and for us DH suffer'ers you'll probably get a response.

Thats exactly what it looks like. Scabbed, insanely itchy. It's horrible. I use to get DH on my knees now it's my elbows, armpits and scalp.

Sorry you got hit. I definitely get pain and gas, but I haven't noticed mucous. There is usually do much extreme D in there, I don't know if I'd notice it.

GFreeMO Proficient

Thanks! I usually get the mucous after the D is all finished.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
