Can't help but wonder about those kisses from a two-yr-old. I am also ridiculously sensitive but would not react to breathing baking things UNLESS you could see flour in the air. Like Patti, I'd suspect the Bob's Red mIll (others here have had cc issues with them) or the Cocoa Pebbles. My kids eat them and they are in my gluten-free house, but they are not...

ARCHIVED "Super Sensitive" Celiacs.....
oceangirl replied to jerseyangel's topic in Super Sensitive People
Getting rid of the dairy until he heals could be a good thing- I was off of it for 2 years and finally able to put it back. Soy gives me a reaction similar to gluten and rice I've never been able to eat cooked traditionally. I can now tolerate Tinkyada pasta for some reason (super processed?) but not every day. Nuts are probably just still too rough on his... -
ARCHIVED Your Favorite Paintings/artists?
oceangirl replied to C.S. Blogsmith's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Elonwy, Your Mom's art is beautiful; thank you for sharing it with us! My mother and daughter are both artists as well and I live with a pretty talented visual artist and writer. I'm fond of artists! Me, I'm an actor and special educator- that's as "arty" as I get! lisa -

oceangirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sensitive folks, I use to eat Mochi by Grainaissance before celiac diagnosis and it SAYS gluten free. Do any of you eat this and trust it? I appreciate your help! thanks, lisa -
ARCHIVED Your Favorite Paintings/artists?
oceangirl replied to C.S. Blogsmith's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Ooooh, I like most if not all of those mentioned and I am not computer-savvy enough to provide links but suspect you can look these up on your own should you so desire: I love the dark art of Zdzislaw Beksinski. Also, Maxfield Parrish, Gauguin, Edward Hopper and Toulouse-Lautrec. and Georgia O'Keefe. Photography by Dorothea Lange (sp?)... I also adore... -

ARCHIVED Dasani
oceangirl replied to Corkdarrr's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I ALWAYS reacted to Dasani! I drink filtered tap water only. If I HAVE to buy water I buy Poland Spring which, sadly, is no longer guaranteed to be from Poland Spring, Maine! I think bottled water is the greatest hoax perpetrated on the American people. Check out you local tap water or well-water and drink on! There's SOMETHING in Dasani! lisa -
ARCHIVED Opps... Cross Contamination
oceangirl replied to turtledale's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm sorry you don't feel well. For me, it is only time that helps although copious amounts of water might be beneficial. I also return to ONLY my most trusted foods until I feel better. Perhaps others will post. Feel better. lisa -
ARCHIVED "Super Sensitive" Celiacs.....
oceangirl replied to jerseyangel's topic in Super Sensitive People
First, I do know that "their" would be the correct spelling in my former post...sigh; I'm tired. Second, I really think you and your husband can come to a happy medium and if he has offered to be gluten-free, HE will benefit as well. (Your happiness?) Kids are trickier BUT, I had two teenagers at home when I kept getting glutened and THEY finally said, "Mom... -
ARCHIVED "Super Sensitive" Celiacs.....
oceangirl replied to jerseyangel's topic in Super Sensitive People
Swansong, My thought is it may not be from touching the bread but simply from the fact that (it sounds like) you do not have a gluten-free home. I think many supersensitives will agree that until there house was "safe" mysterious glutenings continued. I know that was true for me and I am VERY careful, cook almost all my own food, never eat out, yadaydayada... -

ARCHIVED Pure Rice Flour Available In U.s.?
oceangirl replied to oceangirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you so much, Patti! Because of you I just bought some rice Ener-G bread but I've been too chicken to try it yet! However, I've been making some YUMMY shortbread cookies with the Glutino flour, butter, vanilla and one egg that I make into jam-filled cookies with my homemade jams- very tasty! Thank you! lisa -
ARCHIVED Pure Rice Flour Available In U.s.?
oceangirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi everyone, Recently I ran out of my pure Glutino rice flour I purchased in Canada and we can't seem to find a way to order it from there for delivery here. Does anyone have a rice flour available in U.S. with no other ingredients? No gluten, soy, tapioca,xantham...blah, blah, blah......? JUST plain rice flour from a TRUSTED source. I'm HIGHLY sensitive... -
ARCHIVED 6 Months gluten-free Still Have Antibodies
oceangirl replied to diane h's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It took 2 YEARS for my numbers to get within normal range- and I made ALL my food from scratch and never ate out. I did suffer from random glutenings during that time. My partner, Michael, is also gluten-free now as we discovered that if he eats gluten and we kiss, it's curtains for me! It can take awhile. We have a gluten-free house, including older kids... -
I was diagnosed with positive bloodwork at 48 but have had digestive issues since I was 11 and had seen numerous Gastros who diagnosed IBS and colitis. (Also, I was a very "colicky" baby...) Got EXTREMELY ill after salmonella poisoning and never got better- thought it was cancer. Lost much weight (thin already), mucho pain and over 26 exciting symptoms later...

ARCHIVED Almond Butter
oceangirl replied to Lexi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh yay! I just risked buying some Woodstock Farms but it doesn't specifically say on the label that it's gluten-free and we've been having trouble finding the company's info. Thank you, Patti- some day I will take a chance and try it! lisa -

ARCHIVED "Super Sensitive" Celiacs.....
oceangirl replied to jerseyangel's topic in Super Sensitive People
Hi Sensitives, Sorry to change the subject and I know this should probably go on the "foods" section, but, since this is a super-sensitive thread I'm going to ask. Veterans, particularly, could you tell me your absolute trusted canned tuna w/o SOY and, preferably without preservatives as well? Thank you so much! -
ARCHIVED Bubbles
oceangirl replied to Anthony22's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
That is a symptom of glutening for me, typically within a couple hours of gluten ingestion. Sometimes too much fiber can give me some of that sensation but more typically it's gluten and I feel it up high over my small intestine first. And, I unfortunately must report, that even 3 and a half years gluten-free, I still get random glutenings that are difficult... -

ARCHIVED Cold Hands And Feet
oceangirl replied to Sin3str0's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Prior to going gluten-free 4 yrs ago I had constant cold hands and feet. I still do SOMETIMES. Of course, there were far worse symptoms, however. lisa -
ARCHIVED Red Eyes
oceangirl replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Wow, this is what I call revitalizing an old thread! I hope you get to the bottom of your symptoms- I had most of them pre-gluten-free about 4 years ago. When I talk about red eyes it is NOT because they are dry- it's that they are RED. And gluten, without a doubt, does this to me along with a host of other nefarious things! take care, lisa -

oceangirl replied to monkeydragon's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you for this thread. I believe Barefoot wines are unoaked as well as 4 vines, but you might want to check the 4 vines again. We have been seeking unoaked once we knew about the flour paste- too bad because I love oaked wines! lisa -
