  1. How would I find out if I am responding due to an enzyme deficiency? What are EAV and muscle tests? And what exactly is leaky gut? I probably ought to do some reading on that, to see if that may be my problem. Also, would you trust the homeopathic people and the supplements they want to put me on? Supposedly there is one to help w/ my "allergies", one to...
  2. just as i suspected... : that totally sucks you ought to check out rissaroo's post for homemade chicken nuggets. i'm so excited to try them: Open Original Shared Link edit: not sure if you were referring to bell & evans chicken nuggets...but even still, check out the recipe
  3. YES! When hubby and I go hiking, we always hit up Gold's Gym afterward. It's so nice on those tired muscles! Also, quite enjoyable at that time of the month
  4. i'm hoping to do a lot of my eating in the disney parks. however, to save money, we'd talked about bringing our own breakfasts. we are also going to be flying into orlando, and heading south (probably to the keys) for a couple days before going back up to WDW. wanted to stock up before driving down there
  5. I'm taking a trip to Orlando in the spring, and thought I'd scope out the area so I don't have to drag a full suitcase of food with me. I'm bringing my toaster oven, and will have access to a refridgerator. I will probably bake some bread and bring that with me, but thought I'd find out what is nearby and has the most gluten-free selection. We will also have...
  6. I wanna know how you cut your pineapple to get the juice to run DOWN to your armpit A little off topic, but what's the best way to cook expensive meat? I am too scared to buy steak because every time I have, it hasn't turned out as good as "restaurant" steaks. I don't have a BBQ, but I do have a little George Foreman grill. Hm, my...
  7. hm, good idea!
  8. wow i haven't had chicken nuggets in ages! ian's are too expensive for me! i will definitely have to try this tomorrow!
  9. yum! i'd love to see a pic
  10. lol i hear ya if only we could buy our way into the mainstream world
  11. i do this a lot, it really helps mix things up that's great that you have such a variety though! i need to be better about that myself. OMG I keep telling my husband we need one...and there's just the 2 of us! Personally, the things I stock up on are mostly staples - meat (to throw in the freezer), canned fruit/veggies, tinkyada...
  12. awesome! thanks for sharing this with me
  13. well, here's an update: all the more confusing, i went to a REAL allergist on friday, who did a skin prick test. he told me i am NOT allergic to anything. said i probably have celiac disease based on biopsy/blood results, and may just be lactose intolerant, and probably just got used to the lactaid pills i was taking at least once a day. so i feel even more...
  14. what flours do you bake with (what's a good rice sub)? what do you do to satisfy a sweet tooth? i've cut out sugars (temporarily, to help lose 15 lbs), but not rice or fruit. i've been doing this for almost 3 weeks...have only lost 1.5 lbs. ><
  15. I did a search of "Disneyworld" and found a lot of great tips and suggestions for dining gluten free, but I'm worried because I do have multiple allergies - gluten, dairy, soy, citrus, canola oil, cashews, sunflower seeds, flax, and shellfish (except crab). Anyone else w/ similar issues had a good experience at Disneyworld. I think we're staying at Port Orleans...
  16. I have not had many gluten dreams in the 2 years since being gluten-free. However, I did go off sugar a week and a half ago (trying to boost my weight loss for a wedding). I have had dreams almost every night since about me binging on chocolate. I think maybe it's a psychological thing...at least for me. Maybe even a way of mourning. Sorry you're going...
  17. i don't think they are (but not positive, so don't quote me on that). i love them too! that's my favorite way to eat them. or, wrap one in tinfoil and throw it in the oven for an hour or two. it is so good you don't even need anything on it. i also liked adding them to baked potato soup...i bet it would be good made with just sweet potatoes!
  18. mmm, good idea! once i'm off my sugar fast, i'm gonna make some cake or cookies, just to try that
  19. thanks had an okay ranch recipe, but it called for tofu...out of the picture now
  20. ok, here's my challenge: how would be the best way to make a ranch-like and italian dressing dairy/soy/citrus free and still taste decent ?
  21. i LOVE it!!!!
  22. glad you had a good experience! yeah, the one in provo, ut does not have a dedicated fryer neither is their service really that great. it's my husband's favorite place to go, so i try to endure it, but eating a cobb salad with italian dressing (from home) gets pretty boring. i've tried the bunless burgers, but without fries, it's just a piece...
  23. wow these sound really great! as usual
  24. seems to be my problem too
  25. lol me too. i will probably give it some time before trying it out. ooh, i'll have to try that. i have some "natural" popcorn (orville redenbacher brand i think) that is just corn, palm oil and salt. it's way good, definitely as good as buttery kinds imo! how do you fry your onions? i REALLY miss onion rings! hm, i'll have to make a trip to...
