  1. ain't it the truth!
  2. this multiple allergy thing sure does suck i'm glad you're able to turn it into something entertaining, as i was feeling blue about my latest eliminated foods. can you share the recipes for the dressing and the sauce? they sound good! i have yet to find a salad dressing that is half decent, and soy/dairy/gluten/canola/sunflower free
  3. Sorry, was posting late last night, wasn't thinking clearly Everything you wrote was helpful! Where do you get Chia oil? And which of the oils you use works best for what? Or does it matter?
  4. nice! thanks for sharing! much needed here
  5. YES! She seriously rocks!
  6. hm, i've heard hemp milk is good. i have also used rice milk before to make the soup, but can't remember if it tasted any different, so i didn't mention it. i'd give it a try though
  7. yay! you must share the recipe
  8. So, I went and had some allergy testing done. Don't even ask me what they did cuz I don't even know myself (and let me tell you how well that's going over with the hubby ). But anyway, they came up with a few more things that my body apparently can't handle: Soy (was kind of looking at this one already) Flax (which means I have to stop taking my...
  9. Planning a trip to Florida in the spring, and we've got a few days open on our agenda. We've narrowed the list down to these three, but I'm looking for the place with the best accomodations for my dietary restrictions. And any pros/cons to what to do/where to go would be wonderful! Thanks!
  10. I had a similar experience when I went to RFC in Las Vegas. The server had no idea what I could/couldn't eat and after a lot of confusion, sent the chef out. He basically told me there was this or this to eat. Not much variety. And then they brought out my salad with croutons on top, and my salmon with a hunk of bread on the same plate. Very frustrating!
  11. Ok, have their cook book right next to me! The cream of mushroom soup isn't on the website, but here's my variation of it: Cream of Mushroom Soup 1 3-oz can of mushrooms, or fresh chopped mushrooms 1 1/2 tsp beef bullion (or omit and sub 1/2 the milk for beef broth. i've also made this accidentally with chicken broth, and it was great in tuna casserole...
  12. is there anywhere i can buy parma online? i would love to try it!
  13. those look really good. do you think they'd be good dairy/soy free? what else do you think I could use as a cheese sub?
  14. wow you really are my hero! i can't wait to try this. have to wait until the 13th (trying to lose weight for a wedding)...but i might just have to make this to bring to the wedding! it looks amazing!!
  15. I am so FRUSTRATED with my search to buy a new slow cooker. I got a really cheap Rival 4 qt crock pot as a wedding present 5 years ago, and really liked it. It worked great. But I dropped the bowl a few weeks ago I've been trying to research a replacement. I feel slightly overwhelmed by all the reviews. What do you guys feel about the different brands...
  16. Great idea GFP! hehehe
  17. just curious, when would you use one over the other? I hear good things about bean flour. However, I cannot eat beans anymore, nor did I care for the flavor of recipes I tried with bean flour. This one is really one you have to give a try to see if you like the flavor. PS: don't eat the dough raw. It's NASTY!
  18. Before going DF, I used to make a lot of gravy/cheese sauces. You can put them on just about anything! Don't know if this link will work, but here's a great recipe I saw on the Rachael Ray show once.
  19. thanks for the help guys! i think it went really well they were really casual about the whole thing, just wanted a couple pics. i talked them into having more taken (since they're not paying for it), and i feel liek we got some good shots.
  20. I'm not sure if they're related either. My cousin thought she had celiac disease about a year ago...ended up BEING an ovarian cyst (18 1/2 lbs...one of the largest recorded!!). It was scary. But she and her mom both have a wheat allergy (that gives them a skin rash...my thoughts are still on celiac, but I suppose I'm biased).
  21. i'm not sure...texture/flavor variety?
  22. Just looking for helpful hints/advice/creative ideas from other photographers. My sister in law is getting married, and asked me to take the engagement photos this weekend. I've done some baby/kid shots, some senior pics, and a lot of family vacations (candid). A little nervous and looking for some confidence Thanks!
