  1. mmm, those were my favorite! i used to eat the frosting right out of the container next time i'm at the store, i'll grab one and read the ingredients, then call the company! Next time you make one, I might just stop by I'd make one of my own, but i'm supposed to be on a diet so my husband would give me a hard time for going out of my way to...

  5. Welcome Rachel! Isn't it great finding this place? I know I was ecstatic when I stumbled across it You know, your story sounds a lot like mine. I was 22 when diagnosed, and had just gone through 3 years of being on and off antidepressants/anti-anxiety pills. When I got to college, I pretty much went through what you did, holing up in my dorm, losing contact...
  6. wanting to make a healthy turkey meatloaf, don't know any recipes. searched this forum, found a lot of references to meatloaves, no recipes tho
  7. I've decided to start eating dairy free, and am feeling the loss of cheese heavily. Any good recipes would be appreciated. I dug up tarnalberry's post with all those recipes, and those have been good. Just wondering what other DF-ers do. I'm pretty comfortable cooking/baking with milk subs (almond, soy, rice milk). Just looking for some variety. Also trying...
  8. I've noticed that every time I get a caramel frap, I get really bloated and gassy, a little crampy. I'm thinking it's from dairy, but it's been awhile since I knew I was glutened, so mostly going off my almost daily dairy reactions. Anyone? As far as I knew, their caramel was gluten-free...
  9. quite possibly I guess i'm just overly sensitive to the subject, especially because I don't feel entirely worthy of him, knowing I haven't been pulling my weight and making him feel like I'm part of the team. I think the both of us could be better at that. Often I feel like I get a half-hearted reaction to something I feel like I did right, but...
  10. i've actually thought about getting a degree in either of these. i guess i don't really know the difference. all i know, is when i was diagnosed with celiac disease, my doctor had me see a nutritionist. all she did was print off all the literature from celiac.com, and read it to me. which, by the way, i did on my own the week before seeing her. i wasn't all...
  11. Another little rant here, sorry you guys are probably tired of hearing my life story. I just really don't feel like I have anyone to talk to. So, I don't think I mentioned this before, but I really dislike my husband's job. His boss is such a toxic person, and it frustrates me that they're friends ( he hooked my husband up with the job). My husband has...
  12. good to know there's still lots of options is ostrich meat expensive? how do you cook it? i get really easily stuck in that eating habit. i get frustrated with the things i can't make, and just make the same things i KNOW i can make well. lol liked your joke it's hard b/c i'm still "married to food" in some ways...getting there though. thanks for...
  13. You know, you're right, and I really struggle with taking the initiative here. It feels like so much work sometimes, and to me, it doesn't matter that much whether we do anything or not...But I do know that when I do take charge of things, he's so much happier with life lol my husband is the opposite about our office. He's so OCD about taking...
  14. What do you eat? I'm looking at your list of "free-of" foods, some of which I'm trying to avoid myself (namely dairy, soy, legumes).
  15. You guys are the best! Thanks, lots of great ideas! Part of the problem with doing sports-like things together is he is so competitive, and I am not. So one of us often gets frustrated with the other. But I'll have to look into some of these We do this quite often, although it's usually because one of us guilts the other into doing it. I...
  16. thanks everyone for your encouraging words. i don't have much time to respond, but wanted to say that this has helped me feel a lot better. i'll definitely talk w/ my hubby about things. we've talked about us/me seeing a counselor. when we were first married, i saw a couple, but hubby was put out by one who was encouraging me to leave him because i didn't...

  18. what food coloring/vitamins would affect a celiac? i wasn't aware of any...
  19. This one sounds good. I was wanting to make muddy buddies, but i'm off dairy at the moment, so was trying to figure out another way to do it. karo syrup is corn syrup right? don't have any of that, but i suppose i could boil a little sugar and water.
  20. i tried this one also, wasn't too bad. not my fave though. it's pretty good, if you're not expecting a snickers bar. i didn't notice any spices when i was eating mine. just the coconut. but i'm a fan of the coconut candy, so i didn't mind. definitely a little artificially sweet though
  21. one thing i'm stocking up on for my summer camping trips are pure fit energy bars. they remind me of power bars. my faves are the chocolate brownie and the peanut butter. they're not candy bars, so don't expect that. don't know where you can get them where you are, i know they have them near me at a couple stores. or you can buy them online - Lame Advertisement...
  22. Not really sure what's wrong. Just been crying on and off for the last 24 hours. Kinda frustrated with my life, and wish I had someone to talk to. Don't really feel like I can talk with my husband about what's going on. He is a really good guy, and I love him so much, but the issues I'm having kind of consist of things going on between us. My parents are...
