  1. I have one, love it and use it often! I puree salsa (weird I know, but my hubby loves it), blend sauces and soups (makes them more creamy, very nice when DF), and make lots of smoothies! I love to throw a bunch of fresh/frozen fruit in with a couple handfuls of spinach (yes spinach! you can't taste it!). Makes a great breakfast! I think it is a great investment...
  2. these sound amazing! i'm so excited to try them this weekend
  3. Thanks, that's a great list! Thanks for letting me know about the taffy! I've read good things about Andina's too...might have to check it out
  4. Headed out to Oregon this weekend to visit the fam, just wondered where is accommodating for gluten-free/DF dining. Been awhile since I was there. We'll mostly be in the NW Portland/Beaverton area, but plan on hitting up the coast one day (haven't decided between Seaside and Cannon Beach...love 'em both!). Thanks all!
  5. Thanks!
  6. This recipe looks great, but kind of confuses me...does it make both cookies and brownies? Or you can make one or the other w/ the dough? I want to try it, but after reading twice, I still don't get it. Definitely a monday...
  7. That's probably a good plan. I love seafood thankfully, so I'll just have to take advantage of that Thanks!
  8. Headed out there next month. Wondered where is good to eat. Not a huge fan of the national chains...at least not the ones out in Utah. I don't eat out much anymore, though. Too many foods to avoid. Although I have had nothing but good experiences at Bonefish Grill, and hear there's one in Destin. I will be bringing my toaster oven, have a fridge for gluten...
  9. This website was a lifesaver for me when I first started the gluten-free diet: Open Original Shared Link Some great recipes here! Apple Streusel muffins, Cinnamon Pull aparts, Blueberry tea bread, and the basic muffins are all winners in my book. I've tried the basic muffins w/ various fruits, w/ chocolate chips, w/ coconut, w/ poppyseed and lemon juice...
  10. I believe Heather's tummy fiber says gluten free on the package. I don't know, I don't even look at it anymore I'd never thought of adding quinoa to rice. That sounds interesting....
  11. I like this idea about making veggies the focus. That's hard to do, but it's what I try and do. I also make leftovers for lunches. very easy to get up and go the next day if it's all prepared the night before. Soups are great! and easy! and cheap! Make your own stocks and that adds to the flavor without the additives and cost. Quinoa is good...
  12. i wasn't really bullied, but since my celiac onset a few years ago, i gained a lot of weight, and got the "celiac gut". i got asked all the time if i was pregnant. that's really hard on your self esteem. thankfully i've lost the weight, still have a small gut, but i haven't been asked about being preggers since christmas. people really can be so inconsiderate...
  13. Thanks for stopping by!

  14. I like the word treatment makes it sound more serious. I tell a lot of people that I am on a medically necessary diet when they ask (I can't think of the actual phrase I use, something along the lines of doctor-required/health-required...but my mind just went blank ). That's what I'm going to do, once I read the article (have the magazine in...
  15. Mint lemon-limeade! I saw it on a Paula Deen cooking show! So good!
  16. I was diagnosed w/ IBS as well as celiac, and my doctor told me to follow the IBS diet. It's a lot of the foods that Tiffany listed above (except I'm intolerant to about half of them), plus I do take a fiber supplement. I take acacia fiber (you can do a google search for it). It is specifically for calming those tummy problems that can be associated with...
  17. looks like some yummy recipes! i love indian food!
  18. Is rhubarb in season? I thought it was more of a summer fruit...but I don't know I love rhubarb! I made a great strawberry rhubarb pie a couple years ago, but don't remember where I got the recipe. I think I just followed a Betty Crocker recipe I found in my cookbook, and subbed a gluten-free pie crust. Mmm, I think I'm going to have to go get some...
  19. I have gotten these since I was a kid. I don't know what causes them, but I don't think it is necessarily gluten related. My husband gets them alot as well.
  20. Thanks Amber, this is awesome Always happy to find new gluten-free recipes!
  21. I have been using Walmart's generic version for over two years with no problem.
  22. interesting. i'm glad to hear it's decent. i might have to order it from amazon
  23. I hate calorie counting What I do instead is listen to my body. I eat when I'm hungry, and stop when I feel satisfied. I don't read/watch TV while eating, so I am aware of how much I'm eating. I also serve myself small helpings (like on a salad plate), then go back for more if I feel the need. I don't eat much junk food. I never eat out anymore. I eat...
  24. I haven't had a problem w/ Synthroid and Gluten. Been on it for 8 months now.
