NoGluGirl replied to LadyBoss's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear babygirl1234, Yeast Candida is actually a fungus. It is a full body fungal infections. It can make you very ill. It can play a role in bacterial dysbiosis. Bacterial dysbiosis is when the natural balance of the intestines is disturbed. In your intestines, there is good bacteria which helps your digestive ecosystem stay in proper... -

ARCHIVED Just Found Out Two Weeks Ago That I Have Celiac
NoGluGirl replied to LadyBoss's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear LadyBoss, I forgot to mention that I believe you have an overgrowth of Candida Albicans in your system. Thrush is a very common sign of that. Have you been on a lot of antibiotics either recently or in the past? How about birth control, or steroids for asthma? I have been on them all. Candida can cause stomach trouble as well... -
ARCHIVED Just Found Out Two Weeks Ago That I Have Celiac
NoGluGirl replied to LadyBoss's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear LadyBoss, I know exactly how you feel! I was put on every anti-depressant and anti-anxiety drug known to man. Doctors are such idiots. I have had to diagnose myself most of the time until I saw a holistic physician. She said Celiac has not always showed up in blood work, which we paid $300 for several years ago. I was accused of having... -
Dear Everyone, A word of caution on the Tylenol. The plain ones are okay. Watch out for the Rapid Release! They are not gluten free! Many people might assume all are safe. They are not! Sincerely, NoGluGirl P.S. If anyone gets...

Dear jmblair41, I have trouble with this too. My Thyroid is messed up. That can cause trouble with that. Also, someone on here told me magnesium deficiencies are to blame for palpitations. I am going to try and get a supplement soon. If your Thyroid is overactive especially this is a common symptom. Mine flips back and forth. ...

Dear Jenny1972, I had my gallbladder out, so I have to watch my fat intake. The Celiac's made my gallbladder go bad when I was 20, and I had to have it removed. If this persists, getting that checked out would be a good idea. I was told to cut the dairy again. I was feeling a lot better the first few months, then I started feeling bad...

ARCHIVED Teeth Grinding (bruxism)
NoGluGirl replied to Charlieswpa's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Charlieswpa, I heard this could be gluten related. I think I grind mine as well. I used to have good teeth. All of the sudden, the past few years or so, my teeth seem to be chipping off by the day. I have bad TMJ and my jaw is extremely misaligned. This is a big problem, because my teeth are also really crooked. I know I... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear AndreaB, Actually, Stachybotrys tends to be greenish black. This mold is notorious for causing illness. Penicillium I am not sure about, but I think it is black. Mold is something that gets into everything. There was a family not far from here who had it in their trailor. They ended up having to move out. The mold grew from a very... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Cybermommy, Thanks for the info! I may have more intolerances. We do not know for sure yet. It can be tricky finding foods for people with multiple allergies. The Chocolate Emporium has soy-free, dairy free, gluten free chocolate chips now. That is a good place to go. I got cake mixes from there that were casein and gluten free... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Claire, Thanks for the info on the MMRs. I was curious since I had the vaccines. This is fascinating. You said that you are injected with a live virus. I heard all vaccines were dead virus cells, but that is apparently wrong. Dear Rachel, Thanks for all the awesome info! Wouldn't it be cool to copy all this stuff... -
ARCHIVED I Need Help For My Brother
NoGluGirl replied to Jerri Ward's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Jerri, I would be more than happy to provide a list to print out for your bro. There are some things we can eat that I never thought we could have! You just have to try and focus on what you can eat, not what you can't. It can be difficult. Like, I cried the other day when my Dad brought home Chinese, because it is my favorite. No... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear CarlaB, I get like this too. I am not on any antibiotics at the moment. There are just some days I can barely function at all. Just doing the dishes seems to take all the energy I have. Then, there are days I get a lot done. It depends on the day. It is rough. Sincerely, ... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear ClarkBent as Stupor-Man, I used to take allergy shots when I was a kid. Do they have adverse effects? I never heard about it. I do not even know what kind I was on. All I know is I had to be taken off of them, because they made me mean. Dear CarlaB, Rachel, and Donna, You guys were discussing... -
ARCHIVED Wheat / Corn Vinegar, And Alcohol.
NoGluGirl replied to JennGFCF's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Tash_n_tail, I do not know if you like sherry, but though I only use it for cooking, Holland House Cooking Sherry is labeled gluten free. It is at our Wal-Mart near the vinegar. I do not know about the UK, but maybe they will have that there. Here is a list I found on celiac.com Armagnac - made from grapes. Bourbon... -
Dear Slackermommy, I am not sure about Snuggle. I could not find a thing on it! How frustrating! I am afraid you will have to call the manufacturer on that one. Mr. Clean should be alright, since Procter & Gamble produce it. I have found they are a reputable company. They also produce CoverGirl Cosmetics. I gave everyone these...

ARCHIVED I Need Help For My Brother
NoGluGirl replied to Jerri Ward's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Jerri Ward, I understand what you mean. My mother and brother probably have this as well. They won't listen to me. My brother refused to give up his pastries! I told him, they are not worth getting sick over! I am gluten intolerant, and could be Celiac. My brother and mother have diarrhea all the time. It sucks. You cannot save... -
ARCHIVED Does This Sound Like Glutening?
NoGluGirl replied to CMCM's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear CMCM, I also had my gallbladder out. As Jo R. and Artgirl said, it really is hit and miss. In 2003, my doctor told me since nothing showed up in those tests that I was fine. I knew better. I told him, I did some research and discovered those tests for diagnosing gallbladder disease were only about 33 percent accurate at best! He... -
Dear bremac, As far as I know, millet has gluten. That is what made you sick. It is a gluten no-no, at least according to what I have read. I get violently ill from a microscopic amount of gluten in any form. Just the other day I got it again. I am the only gluten free member of our household, so cross contamination is a big worry...

ARCHIVED Is Celiac Disease Covered Under Americans With Disablity Act
NoGluGirl replied to irish's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear irish, I too, have had major sleep problems. My body seems to be on swing shift. I cannot stick with a sleep schedule for long. Normally, I will be on a sleeping schedule of 10pm to 7am or something similar for a week or two, then my body will switch to a 1am to 12 noon schedule. Then, another couple of weeks later, I will sleep from... -
ARCHIVED Passing Out!?
NoGluGirl replied to cdfiance's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear Ryan, It sounds like Alex's malabsorbtion has resulted in anemia. She probably was low on electrolytes due to the diarrhea. Gatorade and Pedialyte, which were mentioned by other members already definately is a good idea. Make sure she avoids fruit juice, because it can make diarrhea worse. They should also check her blood sugar.... -
Dear Heather9500, You should be very careful! If you are a Celiac, even a trace amount could damage your intestinal villi. Cosmetics, toothpaste, mouthwash, soap, and all kinds of other things can make you sick. It is difficult not to be paranoid about it. I live in a house where I am the only one who is gluten free right now. This...

ARCHIVED Gluten-free Vitamins?
NoGluGirl replied to amclemons's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear amclemons, I Googled Gluten-Free Children's Vitamins and found these: Open Original Shared Link . They are very reasonably priced I think. Hopefully your picky eater will like them! These look like a good idea! Other parts of the site have some neat things, too. There is a storybook about a gluten-free child, and all sort of other... -
ARCHIVED Wheat / Corn Vinegar, And Alcohol.
NoGluGirl replied to JennGFCF's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear JennGFCF, I have experienced this as well. I tolerate corn, but not corn syrup. It makes me feel blah afterwards. I don't know if it is just too sweet, or what. Grain derived alcohol is something you need to completely avoid unless it is labeled gluten free. Japanese Mirin is a rice wine. It should be safe, but it never hurts...
