  1. Hugs to you...all is well...

  2. Georgie, thank you for your response. I REALLY appreciate feedback right now. I'm lost. I started my version of the FODMAP (found a list online) and it seems to be going well so far. My only concern is the sustainability on this long term. I mean, do you know if it actually helps to reverse SIBO or does it just alleviate symptoms because so many things are...
  3. Thank you. I just checked out the diet and it seems very good, a lot of work, but I'll do anything at this point. I cannot tolerate milk, nuts or eggs, but maybe after some time I will be able to eat these things. Are you currently on this diet?
  4. I accidentally found out through a allergy blood test. Since cutting them out my often late ngiht sore throats went away and I now sleep through the night (used to wake up to everything). I probably would have never figured out on my own. Recently, I ate some gluten-free bread that contained eggs and I woke up all through the night, just like the good ol...
  5. Hi, After being gluten, dairy and corn free for years, I had a decent digestive system. But then last year, I STUPIDELY took some antibiotics and haven't been the same. It was June of 2010. No matter what I do I have horrible gas and C (yes, I'm on good probiotics and have tried them all in large quantities). I've tried so many things over this past year...
  6. I agree with the above posters. I would also use all the supplements they described, plus I used ginger to sooth my stomach, raw garlic and Betaine HCI to get my stomach acid higher.
  7. I totally agree with you. I also use Tom's, drinked reverse-osmosis water, and I even put a filter on my shower...don't know if it removes fluoride or not, but every little step helps. Fluoride isn't even FDA approved, yet we're all consuming so much of it. Scary!
  8. It's great to hear of your success!
  9. Hey there! I was prescribed it by a doctor at the Whitaker Wellness Center. I started taking it but then stopped as my hubby and I started talking about getting pregnant. I did a lot of research into it and it really seems to help people with autoimmune problems - all types. My doctor said it helped her reverse Lupus. I would defintely do your research...
  10. I don't have an answer for that either, but I found it true in my case as well. I was always 150-160, but I'm almost 5'10, so I was average weight. Then I went gluten free and started exercising regularly and dropped to 125! On my doctor's request, I put on 10 pounds and have stayed this weight for 5 years. My guess is when you eat foods you're intolerant...
  11. I agree, it's one of those don't knock it until you try it thing. I've been adhering to the Type A diet and feel better than ever. It's made a huge difference. Perhaps, it's coincidental, but what do I care at the end of the day. I have no more cravings, I don't wake up feeling unrefreshed any longer, my skin is clearer than ever, and my mood is wonderful...
  12. Glad it cleared up.
  13. I understand, I used to be addicited to sugar as well. I highly recommend a book called The Diet Cure. It gives a lot of helpful tricks for getting over the sugar addiction. She has several supplements she recommmends for getting over the "addiction." You may have Candida as I had...I had to go cold turkey and went through withdrawls for three days, then...
  14. I get that when my magnesium levels are low. I take Calm at night before bed when it happens and for a few days and it usually will clear it up.
  15. I buy a lot of Mercola's products, but never have purchased his vitamin line because they contain a grass...barley maybe? I tried to go look at the label just now so I could report back what was in it but the labels are no longer available. Just wanted to give you a head's up before you order. Yes, they say gluten-free but they still had a grass that concerned...
  16. I have an annual pass and visit/eat there regularly. They are very accomodating and knowledgable - I've never had a problem. No need to call ahead, you just need to pick up the gluten free list from City Hall on your way in.
  17. I live in Seal Beach but drive to downtown LA every Sunday.
  18. The blood tests won't be accurate if you've given up the foods, as your antibodies will subside.
  19. They seem to be full of chemicals and additives. I think my stomach would be upset too...I know the gums in it would make my stomach hurt.
  20. You may only find that doctors who specialize in intgrative medicine are the only ones who will even know about this. The reason why is that it is not branded by any pharmaceutical companies per se. I had to get my from a compounding pharmacy.
  21. Awesome...that makes me smile ----->
  22. I have no personal experience, but a Celiac friend of mine had surgery and her gluten-containing stitches set off a systemic reaction and completely inflammed her body, so much so, that she was put of predisone for one month. She never recovered well from that surgery and the subsequent health issues, and just had to have another surgery. Poor thing has been...
  23. Absolutely! I will get the recipe from her next week.
  24. I started going to a new church a few weeks ago and took communion today. The entire communion is gluten free. For the first time, I was able to take communion and didn't have to worry about CC. I felt so included. The women responsible for coordinating it had special gluten-free pita flown in from New York. She still isn't satisfied with it's texture, so...
  25. The Whitaker Wellness Center in Newport Beach uses it to reverse or halt damage from autoimmune diseases. I know of several people who greatly benefited from it. I got a prescription but then never took it because my husband and I want to get pregnant and i don't want to be on any medication as a precaution. Also, Dr. Mercola has a lot of information about...
