  1. WONDERFUL!!! Please post and tell us how it went.
  2. I was diagnosed with Sjogren Syndrome as well and battled fatigue too. I later found out that I am also intolerant to other foods and after eliminating them I am much better. I don't even need coffee anymore. I do still drink Green Tea because it's been proven to help protect the salivary glands of Sjogren Symdrome patients.
  3. Same with me, but I have two sets of the genes. I'm considered gluten "sensitive" not gluten intolerant by Enterolab.
  4. Call you insurance company and tell them you fear permanent damage will be done if you aren't able to see a qualified doctor within the next few days that can get a handle on this for you. This can't be good for your heart or any other organ for that matter to be so unbalanced. Tell them if they can't make this happen that you will have to seek care outside...
  5. I can't recommend one specific food to help you feel good. What I can suggest is eliminating foods that make you feel bad (there's more than just gluten that's a problem for me) and eat as much fresh, unprocessed foods as possible, preferrably organic when feasible/available. I don't necessarily believe in "super foods" as I think all natural foods supply...
  6. Hmm...besides your should surgery, I could write your post myself (see signature). I'm now in my early 30s and spent most of young adult life and teenage years completely sick. I had Bronchitis so frequently that my doctor feared major scar tissue in my lungs. The coughing caused a hiatal hernia, I had my appendix removed, and I had a horrible case of mono...
  7. I've never eaten here, but generally if I go out for sushi I make sure my order includes REAL crab, not imitation since it has wheat in it. Warning: it cost a premium. I also stress that I want no sauce or dressing on anything. To tell you the truth, I find Asian restaurants the most difficult to navigate, but if you're careful, you can make it work.
  8. I have these dreams often as well, more so when I'm not feeling well. I just had a dream about eating spaghetti and pretzels the other night. In my dream my husband warned me not to eat them, but I was like "who cares?!" and ate them anyways. Then I started freaking out, wondering what I had done and how sick I would become. It caused me to wake up, and I...
  9. No, to me, this sounds like a food allergy.
  10. Oh, that's good. I would also suggest an elimination diet then. It will help pinpoint the problem.
  11. We buy applegate free-range organic all-beef hotdogs from Wholefoods. They are a bit pricey but so worth it. They have nothing added to them except a couple of spices.
  12. or edamame (pure soybeans)...
  13. Do you eat dairy? I find that I get weird skin issues/rashes and dry skin when I eat it. Since cutting it out, it's gone away.
  14. Have you had your thyroid hormones checked recently? I find that when my thyroid is sluggish, I have symptoms very similar to yours. I forget what I'm doing, have trouble recalling words, etc.
  15. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. What a blessing you must have been to her.
  16. Two thoughts to share here: vitamin D fortified in milk (meaning it's added and synthetic) is hard for the body to absorb. You should try taking supplements and be sure it's Vitamin D3, not Vitmain D2 (which is found in milk). Also, it's fat soluble, so be sure to take it with fat. I take mine with my Omega 3 supplements. Also, many people find that dairy...
  17. Be sure to also try digestive enzymes. Many people find they have trouble with digestion and nausea after they have their gallbladders removed. While we can live without them, they do serve a purpose and help break down food.
  18. Nickel allergy is usually caused by getting your ears pieced with nickel-containing earrings. They've banned nickel in jewelry in European countries because of the likelihood of developing the allergy, but I believe it is still legal here. I also am alleric, as many people are...this is quite common. I've never heard of the need to cut out nickel-containing...
  19. Absolutely! I would love to meet you three.
  20. I know that Burm...seal beach, right? I could walk there in five minutes from my house. So glad to hear of your recovery. I remember when I was really sick a few years ago, a turning point for me to get help was not being to run after my kite. Anyways, so glad you're doing better and joining others on sand sliding
  21. I really like Trader Joe's Brown Rice pasta. It's really good as long as you don't over cook it (key to all gluten-free pastas in my opinion). I don't think it costs any more than traditional pasta either.
  22. My guess is that they would. Have you asked your doctor?
  23. There have been people on that have mentioned this. You may want to search, but I've read about it several times. Never experienced it myself though.
  24. Good point. My doctor said my digestive track can't handle the three antibiotics needed and that the success rate is only 70%. Instead, she had me on six different supplements that include oregano, garlic, L-glutamine, aloe, and a bunch more that I can't recall. For the first few days of taking them, I notice no difference. I'm happy to report that I no longer...
