  1. My thyroid hormone T3/T4 also jumps between "low normal" and out-of-range low. I can tell you when my thyroid was at its worse, my heart would flutter often and I would go through periods of it beating really fast. However, in tandum with this, I was eating eggs like they were going out of style and I found via bloodwork that I'm highly allergic. So, maybe...
  2. Me too. I'm so thankful for people on here like Ravenwood and Skylark who volunteer endless amounts of their time to teach others and provide such great advice. I've learned so much.
  3. I can't comment much on testing, there's others on here that know a lot, so hopefully they'll chime in. However, if the gas pains continue, consider ditching the soy for a while and see if it helps. It affects me as bad as gluten or dairy. Just something else to try if the symptoms continue.
  4. When my Rhemy was screening me for Lupus he said that frequent urination is a symptom of Autoimmune Disorders. I don't have more insight to share other than that, but it also happens to me when I eat something I shouldn't have.
  5. My new doctor also recommends coconut water. I've always loved it too!
  6. Living with autoimmune disorders can be depressing and isolating at times, as we all know. Have you considered seeing a doctor who practices alternative or integrative medicine? I recently started going to the Whitaker Wellness Institute in Newport Beach. I met a fabulous doctor there who has put her own Lupus into remission. Anyways, it was a HUGE relief...
  7. Have you tried to temporarily cut out other major allergens, such as soy and dairy? This may help you through the recovery process and then you can try introducing them back slowly. Dairy really hurts my digestive track as well.
  8. I'm so glad you are watching out for her and helping her to become more educated. I think she'll get the proper screening with your help. I can totally understand your frustration. I just read someone else's post on here yesterday that said his/her doctor gave her a handout that read: "while Celiac is a disease, gluten intolerance is a psychological disorder...
  9. Maybe it would be therapeutic for you and helpful for someone else in your shoes to write to all of your previous doctors and tell them what was recently discovered. It may open there eyes to Celiac Disease (they obviously don't have it on their radar) and give you a chance to tell your story and frustration of a severely flawed and unfair process. Be...
  10. Hooray, fellow wifey! I've been so happy lately because I now have the energy to make my hubby his lunch to take to work every day. I used to feel so bad that I was so caught up in my own health that I wasn't able to take care of him properly (I enjoy this type of thing).
  11. I agree with the last poster. I had no idea that I was allergic or intolerant to avocados (my favorite thing in the world) and eggs until I had blood tests done. Since cutting them out, my immune system seems stronger, I'm not as tired, and I don't sore throats all the time like I did before. Also, I recently went to Whitaker Wellness Center and my doctor...
  12. For the most part, it's become such a way a life that I don't think much about it. Yes, I live very differently than other people my age, but oh well! I do HATE having it when I travel. I also can't eat dairy, nuts or eggs. Getting food in other parts of the world or rural areas in no easy feat and I often get very ill on vacation and come back with acne...
  13. I'm on Sustain and Glutagenics...just started a week ago. Since then, I've been having pain under my ribs on my left side. Ugh!
  14. My iron was recently tested and at the low end, my doctor also said not to be concerned with it. I was EXHAUSTED. I started taking Garden of Life's raw iron and I can't tell you how much better I feel. I no longer have a "medicated drug" feel. Also, I would probably switch to eating more protein. Just from a nutritional/blood sugar balance standpoint, corn...
  15. My family has a strong history of asthma, in fact my grandmother passed away from it and my father had some close calls. Removing dairy has been key for my dad and sister, mine cleared up on gluten-free and dairy free diet.
  16. I love mine and use it daily...it's not your ordinary blender
  17. BTW, work on getting your vitamin D up. I also was recently tested by Quest and came in at the range of 44. My doctor just called me about an hour ago and said she likes to see it between 50-100 for optimal health, despite that 44 is still considered in range. She told me to take 5,000 IUs per day.
  18. The carageen(sp?) in that yogurt is known to cause abdominal distress. I found out the hard way as well. I hope you feel better soon.
  19. Have you continued to eat the foods you're allergic to? You have to be eating the foods for your tests to be accurate.
  20. I was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome and told that I need to be "scanned" for lymphoma every six months...a bunch a crap in my opionion. It scared the daylights out of me, put me into a deep depression, and I had a midlife crises at 28! Fast forward a few years later: I don't believe in "diseases." I believe in imbalances. My imbalances were caused by...
  21. Would the school permit you to be a teacher's helper for a week so you can see first-hand what the problem might be?
  22. I have noth h-pylori and a hiatal hernia. Very painful, so I completely understand. Blood tests are not the best for detecting h-pylori. My blood test and endoscopy were negative but stool anitgen was positive. That is the most accurate of all test. In fact, I just watch a webinar yesterday from Dr. Kalish explaining this. Manuka honey is great, so is mastic...
  23. Oh, good about not having eaten the seafood for long. That's a relief. Chlorella and selenium are both useful for binding and eliminating mercury if you care to take them, but it sounds like you are safe at this point. I usually will take extra doses if I eat shrimp or salmon, just in case. BTW, I used to be super sensitive to smells and often had a...
  24. I don't mean for my posting to take you off track, but just want to plant this seed for thought. If you eat a lot of canned tuna, which unfortunately if FULL of mercury, you may have mercury poisoning -which has many similar symptoms of severe Celiac. I've read about many people having this issue following a diet full of seafood: Open Original Shared Link...
  25. It sounds like you have other food intolerances. Until you figure them out, Digest Gold (digestive enzyme) has worked wonders for me. It's a bit pricey but worth every cent, in my opinion. Also probiotics are key.
