				ARCHIVED For Those With Hypothyroidism
Looking for answers replied to kimis's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I don't have a lot of info to share, but I suffer from low t3 but normal tsh. While doing research I found information that these types of results could mean there's an issue with your pituitary gland...it's not signaling to increase or decrease tsh as it should be with the rise and drop in the other hormones. -

				ARCHIVED More Test Results:
Looking for answers replied to Tidings's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
SEVERE insomnia, itchy feet, thinning hair, racing heart could also be signs and symptoms of hypothyroid, did your doctor discuss this with you? I can't comment on exactly what IGA is, although I know it's elevated in people with food allergies, among other things. If you've recently switched to a gluten-free and are consuming new or in larger quantaties... -

				ARCHIVED Probiotics?
Looking for answers replied to Superfudge's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Renew Life makes several kinds that work very well. I also like Jarrow, which is on the cheaper end. -

ARCHIVED Gastric Bypass Protein Drink Question
Looking for answers replied to IDangeleyes7's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Pea protein is very high in protein but easy to digest. You can purchase the powder online or at some healthfood stores, such as Henry's, Sprouts and Mother's (I live in So. Cal, not sure if these are nationwide). You can also purchse it from vitacost.com ata fraction of the cost. The consistency is smooth and it doesn't taste like peas. -

ARCHIVED Gallbladder Symptoms And Menstrual Cycle
Looking for answers replied to Momto2Boys's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
It sounds like you may have an ovarian cyst to me, which will be detectable in the ultrasound. I've had one and the pain intensifies during that time of the month and the pain travels and is hard to detect the exact source of it. My friend also had the same thing recently and thought she was having appendicitis. -

ARCHIVED Multivitamin For Celiacs & Seeking Advice
Looking for answers replied to Syl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I take two "flushes" of vitamins per day. I take isontonix in the morning (it's a powder vitamin you mix with water and drink on empty stomach) - this has made a huge difference in my energy levels (supposed to have a 90% or higher absorption rate). I also take Garden of Life RAW wholefood vitmains. You can also take this on an empty stomach -sometimes I... -

				ARCHIVED Upper Endoscopy Results
Looking for answers replied to aeryn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi, I have suffered bouts of severe gastritis, I mean so severe that it radiates to my back, I lose my appetite, wish I could have a stomach transplant kind of pain. gluten-free diet definitely helped, but I went through another severe bout a few months back, had an allergy panel ran, discoverd I was highly allergic to eggs and had to cut them out as well... -

				ARCHIVED Introduction And Some Questions
Looking for answers replied to jstanton8's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The endoscopy was really uneventful for me. Went in, only requested twilight sleep. It was done very quickly, no pain, and my mom and I went to lunch afterward. Only issue was some lasting tiredness the remainder of the day. About the cost, mine was 100% covered under insurance...only paid for copay of $20. I'm so sorry you've been told "it's all in your... -

				ARCHIVED "you Look Run-Down"
Looking for answers replied to JustLovely9216's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I used to pretty much keep the same workout routine. While for some athletes, it's not too rigourous, for me I couldn't keep up my protein needs (as previous poster mention) so my muscles began to cannibalize (lovely, huh?) So, I was very thin (size 0 and 5 '9) but I also got the whole "you don't look healthy." I ate a lot as well, just like you, but that... -

ARCHIVED Intro And Questions About Testing Options
Looking for answers replied to worriedmama's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Good for you, Mom, for fighting for answers. Sorry you aren't getting them. Your post hit close to home, as I spent my childhood, beginning at your daughter's age with the same symptoms. Back then (20 years ago) doctors were even more clueless so all that my mom could do is pat my stomach as it swelled to double its size every night after eating. Ah, the... -

				ARCHIVED Night Sweats?
Looking for answers replied to twinkle-toez's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I do agree that whole, fermented soy is a healthy option for some. I'm merely referring to information published by doctors like Dr. Mercola. Varying opinions are a good way for others to learn, and I agree night sweats should not be ignored. My night sweats were never to the point where I needed to change my clothes. -

				ARCHIVED Why Corn?
Looking for answers replied to MacieMay's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
A lot of people here are allergic or intolerant to corn. I personally chose to eliminate it because it's nutrionally void for the most part, and I decided long ago that I would eliminate most grains from my diet to keep my overall inflammation low (I want as little swings in my insulin levels as possible). A lot of corn in the US is grown with pesticides... -

ARCHIVED For Those Of You Who Use Afterglow Cosmetics...
Looking for answers replied to heatherjane's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
One bottle (it's liquid) lasts me about three months. I only use one pump...it's got good coverage and a little goes a long way. I pay under $30 for it. -

				ARCHIVED Follow-Up With The Doctor
Looking for answers replied to Cheryl-C's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Also keep in mind, in order to get an accurate "all;ergy" testing, you also need to keep eating the thing(s) you are allergic too, otherwise antibodies will not show up. -

ARCHIVED Question To Those Avoiding Dairy
Looking for answers replied to srall's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree with the above posters, milk is not a good source of calcium. I don't drink it and my calcium levels are perfect (thx to veggies and sesame seeds). Sorry to contradict the other above poster, but I wouldn't give a child soy milk. A lot of research has come out that giving children soy results in premature menstruation and a host of other hormonal... -

ARCHIVED For Those Of You Who Use Afterglow Cosmetics...
Looking for answers replied to heatherjane's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi, I don't use these products but I used to use Bare Minerals but stopped after hearing an alarming report on the Dr. Oz show. According to him, these minerals are milled so finely (into nano-particles) that he feels inhaling them will eventually lead to lung disease...much like the lung issues coal miners have. I have since switched to ZuZu foundation,... -

ARCHIVED Cucina Alessa Now Serves gluten-free Pasta
Looking for answers posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Newport Beach. I normaly order chicken and veggies, but now they have gluten-free pasta. I haven't tried it, but another friend has and says it's super yummy! -
Hi, I've had this too. First in college, it was so bad, the lack of air, I couldn't even climb up three flights of stairs to my apartment without sitting down. I was young and thin, yet I felt completely out of shape. I went to the doctors and he said I was only using 30% of my lung capacity. From that point on, I did exactly what you did - constantly...

ARCHIVED New Here... Would Love Some Help Understanding My Bloodwork
Looking for answers replied to Gingi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If your GI issues continue, I would also suggest eliminating Soy and Dairy for a while and see how you feel. Those were the two missing pieces for me. An elevated IGA can mean that you are ingesting other foods you are allergic to as well. I recently had mine tested and it was very high despite my gluten-free and DF diet. The doc ran some allergy tests... -

ARCHIVED The What's What On L-Glutamine
Looking for answers replied to fakename's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Lglutamine is an amino acid. You naturally get it in food, but supplementing it can help repair your digestive track and also helps repair leaky gut. I add it to my smoothie each morning" it's tasteless. I can't say I feel any differently taking it but I'm all around healthier each day and I think every thing I do helps, including this. Also, if you workout... -

				ARCHIVED Alka Seltzer
Looking for answers replied to curiousgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think books like Dangerous Grains or any Celiac-specific books will give you the basics, but when it comes to name brands, you may have to call the manufacturer. Also, be sure to check out the resources on celic.com. Here's a good article to start with: /celiac-disease/the-gluten-free-diet-101-a-beginners-guide-to-going-gluten-free-r1640/ -

				ARCHIVED Shoulder/neck/nerve/tendon Pain
Looking for answers replied to tbritt's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi, I was also try cutting out other inflammatory foods such as soy, dairy and limited sugar intake until you begin to feel better. Are you taking a good multi vitamin? Low levels of some minerals and vitamins (such as B vitamins) can lead to this kind of pain. I take a liquid multi (isotonix) that has helped greatly. I also suffered from siatic pain in... -

				ARCHIVED Night Sweats?
Looking for answers replied to twinkle-toez's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Japanese women eat whole soy, not fractured GMO soy like we do here - i.e. soy milk, soy bars, etc. A rise in estrogen can defintely cause hormonal problems, which cause night sweats. Yes, it's true there are many causes, and this is just one of them. -

				ARCHIVED Food Pantry Issues
Looking for answers replied to Kenster61's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I too would be more than happy to send you food or gift certificates, gluten-free soaps, shampoos, vitamins, whatever you need to stay healthy. Do you have means to cook or prepare food? Please send me a personal message on where I can send the shipment. I also encourage you to reach out to a local church. My church would jump at the chance to help someone... -

ARCHIVED Not Sure What To Do Next
Looking for answers replied to Melstar23's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
What kind of pain is it? Sharp, gnawing, achey? I've had on and off pain in my upper left for the past three years. Eliminating gluten and dairy definitely helped, but about three months ago it came back worse than ever, following a week-long vacation in which I was eating little to no food that I typically eat. Well, doctor ran a bunch of tests, including...
