ARCHIVED Do My Symptoms Sound Like Celiac?
Looking for answers replied to Trademarked's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sounds like you might be allergic to soy. I would try cutting that out for a while as well. It's one of the seven most common allergens. -

ARCHIVED I Am Really Need Help With My Symptoms
Looking for answers replied to laughingchicklol's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree with the other posters that you need to get your vitamin and mineral levels checked. It also sounds like you could have problems with your thyroid. Have them run a complete thyroid panel including an antibody panel. -

				ARCHIVED Difficult Mornings
Looking for answers replied to JDH's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You could also have adrenal fatigue and low cortisol in the mornings = no desire to eat and low energy. You may want to ask you doctor to run some tests. This often correlates with Celiac Disease and other food intolerances as they put a great deal of stress on the body. One sure sign of adrenal fatigue is no energy in the morning and then energy in the late... -

ARCHIVED Why Does My Ability To Handle Dairy Constantly Change Back And Forth?
Looking for answers replied to munchkinette's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Is the dairy you consume in other countries pasteurized? If not, that may be the connection. This is explained much better on mercola.com (who advises only to consume raw dairy). When dairy is pasteurized the dead bacteria/enzymes remain in the food and your body may mistaken the bacteria as a foreign substance. This can cause problems for some. I get acne... -

ARCHIVED Opening Up A Can Of Worms
Looking for answers replied to Momto2Boys's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I used to be allergic to nuts - eating them would make my eyes swell the next day. I've cut them out for about a year now and began experimenting last week with success. -
Only thing I can share is that I had brown spots that looked like liver spots show up overnight. One morning I was showering and looked down to see my hands spotted with them. I freaked out! I had my sister look at them (she has had some removed) and she agreed that they looked like sun spots but couldn't explain the sudden onset. I did some googling and...

				ARCHIVED Where Next? Still Tired
Looking for answers replied to GfreeMe's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My naturopath recommended Isotonix. It comes in a powder form that you mix with an ounce of water and take on an empty stomach. My muscle twitches, bruising and heart palps resolved on these. They aren't cheap though! -

ARCHIVED Has Anyone Had Ovarian Cysts After Going Gluten Free?
Looking for answers replied to azagave's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I did. I had a complex cyst about the size of yours that was problematic earlier this year. Luckily it resolved on its own. You may want to google for natural approaches to balancing your hormones or work with a naturopath. I stopped eating soy and other estrogenic foods and I also try to avoid BPA (chemical found in plastic that throws off hormones). I haven... -
Until you feel better, you might want to cut out dairy as well. It may help calm your digestive track. Also, I highly recommend taking high doses of probiotics for a while and digestive enzymes. Since you're probably on a college budget, my GI recommended Trader Joes (hopefully they have these stores where you're at) acidophilus. It's only a few bucks and...

ARCHIVED Do You Take A Probiotic?
Looking for answers replied to Aphreal's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I take Jarrow (5 billion) probiotics and digestive enzymes. No added fiber - I eat a lot of veggies and some fruit. -

				ARCHIVED Where Next? Still Tired
Looking for answers replied to GfreeMe's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree. I recently got a food allergy panel done and it was discovered that I was highly allergic to eggs - no wonder I often wanted a nap after breakfast It may be worth having a comprehensive panel done. The other thing I found helpful was taking liquid vitamins on an empty stomach. No matter what potency I got in regular vitamins, I don't think I absorbed... -

				ARCHIVED My Son's Blood Results
Looking for answers replied to Simona19's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
There is sublingual vitamin D available (mercola.com). I take liquid form and it works well. Focus on getting those levels back up on him to mitigate another autoimmune disorder coming on. So glad you found an answer. What relief! -
Be careful taking strong vitamins right now, it may make you feel worse. Consider a whole food or liquid vitamin. I LOVE Garden of Life's iron pills...you can take them on an empty stomach and they won't cause upset. If you've never taken iron before, the regular ones can be quite distressing on the digestive track. Good luck to you. We look forward to...

				ARCHIVED Doctor Sent Results
Looking for answers replied to jencs's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I don't know what your symptoms are, but I highly recommend good probiotics and digestive enzymes to help you along. They did wonders for me. I take Jarrow probiotics (80 million) and Digest Gold. However, my GI recommended the cheap acidolphilis from Trader Joes (it's like $3) and that's what I used years ago when first going gluten-free and that worked... -

ARCHIVED Wish I Had A Diagnosis!
Looking for answers replied to vegan lisa's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I recommend staying on the diet if it's giving you relief. I also suggest doing a full food allergy panel. I was shocked recently when I was told I have a high allergy to egg. Now that they've gotten the boot, my overwhelming fatigue has lifted. -

				ARCHIVED Doctor Sent Results
Looking for answers replied to jencs's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
There are many on here better suited to answer your questions, but until they come along, I can tell you they didn't test you for your IGG because you are not IGA deficient. If you're not IGA deficient (your total is at 253)and your IGA comes back negative, then they won't do the IGG test, as it is less specific and will assist in diagnosis when someone if... -

				ARCHIVED Introduction And Some Questions
Looking for answers replied to jstanton8's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, you'll learn that you have to be your own health advocate going forward. Try to educate yourself, stay in contact with others in your situtation (like us on this board!). I've had the best of luck turning my symptoms around visiting alternative medicine doctors (naturopaths, etc), but insurance doesn't cover them, so I pay out of pocket. -

				ARCHIVED Introduction And Some Questions
Looking for answers replied to jstanton8's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Then it was a HMO through a major company I used to work for. It was wonderful. In fact, my insurance is still great. I guess I've lucked out. -

ARCHIVED More Periods Than Ever Before
Looking for answers replied to Coolclimates's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi, It sounds like your hormones are off a bit. I would suggest that your doctor/endo run a hormone panel for you. I noticed in your other post that you have ongoing health issues, including depression, etc that you can't shake. Perhaps it's hormone related? A Celiac friend of mine has had ongoing health and emotional issues as well, including very heavy... -

				ARCHIVED Also Not "officially" Diagnosed
Looking for answers replied to ladyjane's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I blamed my hiatal hernia for years too! Good thing we both began thinking outside the box. I also became a vegetarian, which was a huge mistake. That's when my health took the worse dive of my life. It looks like we've walked similar paths. Welcome to the board! -

				Appendicitis And Gluten/wheat Sensitivity
Looking for answers replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
BTW, while doctors say the appendix is a "useless" organ, research released in the past few years revealed that our good beneficial bacteria is housed in the appendix. Therefore, it's more important than ever that your daughter gets on a good probiotic and stays on it for life. -

				Appendicitis And Gluten/wheat Sensitivity
Looking for answers replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I had my appendix removed when I was 11, tonsils when I was 5. Almost lost my gallbladder a few years back, but I fought this one and didn't do the surgery. By the way, a HUGE bowl of Teddy Grahams cereal is to blame for my appendicitis. I was watching the MTV music awards and shoveling that cereal (ah, the 80's!) ...then a few hours later, I couldn... -

				ARCHIVED For Those With Hypothyroidism
Looking for answers replied to kimis's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yes, a tumor is exactly what I wanted to write but I didn't want to alarm you. Don't get worried though, through my research, I have found that these types of tumors are quite common and often resolve on their own. However, they can cause issues with hormones, so don't let them dismiss that. -

				ARCHIVED Milk
Looking for answers replied to deebra's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
That "seriously sick" feeling you get after being without Milk for a few days could be withdrawal symptoms. I'm always weary when people say they absolutely can't imagine living without a certain food - my naturopath said that sounds the bells for food allergies/intolerance, as we often crave the very things we are allergic to. If once you've gone gluten... -

ARCHIVED Please Help Disoriented Has Stopped Me From Driving In The Morning!
Looking for answers replied to Liveenjoylife's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Adrenal fatigue can lead to low cortisol levels, which are the hormones needed to get us going in the morning. I used to get extremely fatigued in the morning and would have to fight to stay awake...never was dizzy though. However adrenal faygue also affects electrolyte balance so it makes sense with the other suggestion of drinking an electrolyte enhanced...
