  1. Many people with gluten intolerance share the same gene that puts you at higher risk of narcolepsy, so research is beginning to link the two. Of couse, it could just be an auto-immune reaction as well. But, just thought you might find that interesting.
  2. I get my husband the "natural" coke from Costco in glass bottles (I think they make it in Mexico), but it contains real sugar not HFCS.
  3. I have enlarges lymph nodes in my neck that have been there for years. Most of my blood count comes back in on the low end as well, and sometimes low and out of range. I had a CT scan done on my neck for the lymph nodes, and results said they were not found to be malignant. For years I stirred about it, and sometime still do. However, I've seen several doctors...
  4. Yes, I get this too. I also get it with dairy items though. Have you considered a secondary intolerance or food allergy?
  5. 5'9 but considered the runt of my immediate family. In fact, I have a family photo taken at the grand canyon and it looks like I was standing in a hole next to my siblings.
  6. Goodness, this post has my head swimming. I want chocolate so bad now but I'm trapped at work!
  7. About two years ago, I also did saliva testing and was treated with hormones and lifestyle changes. The hormones screwed my system up, and I ended up with an ovarian cyst as a result. In hindsight, I shouldn't have taken the hormones. I was diagnose by a natural practioner who was not a licensed doctor. The treatments did little to help. I actually got better...
  8. Check out Renew Life Super Critical Intensive 7-day probiotic treatment. It's meant to counteract the side effects of antibiotics, which can really wreak havoc on your digestive system. While under treatment, it would probably be a good idea to follow an anti-candida diet as well. Google it and you'll find recommendations.
  9. I agree with the above poster...sulfites may be the culprit.
  10. You could have other intolerances as well. For instance, recently, out of the blue, avocados started giving me problems. Add that to my nut-, dairy-, soy- and grain-free diet, and I'm about to scream. But my stomach is feeling much better.
  11. I love your positive outlook. It will serve you well on your path to wellness.
  12. Hi, Do you live in a gluten-free home? Do you eat out much? How about personal care products...are they all gluten free, even your makeup and shampoo/conditioner? Do you buy a lot of pre-packaged foods? What about your supplements and medications? Getting answers to these questions will give all of us a good starting point in seeing if we can dicover the...
  13. My music teacher friend partnered up with a local music store and does lessons part-time, on her own terms. Would something like that work?
  14. I personally don;'t like taking antibiotics so I want to an alternative doctor to get treated for hpylori (Whitaker Wellness Center in Newport Beach, Calif). She said my digestive track was too sensitive anyways for the antibiotic regime and gave me six supplements to take for two months. It seemed to do the trick. The only time gastritis flares up now, is...
  15. Hey, I was thiking of you and my earlier post and the spleen as I watched a DVR-recorded Dr. Oz last night. He said there is a simple test you can do at home to see if your spleen is enlarged. (Of course, this shouldn't be used in lieu of seeing a docotr ). Cup your fingers together and place them directly under your left rib cage and take a full, deep...
  16. About two years ago, my once thick beautiful hair because weak, unshiney, brittle and thin. It was very tramatic. At the same time, I began having trouble with my thyroid. My naturopath treated me for adrenal fatigue, had me cut all my exercise back to just fast walking and weights, and put me on a liquid vitamin called Isotonix. I'm glad to say that today...
  17. This is interesting, and I hope you find your answer. I don't know the extent of your symptoms, but I often have pain on my left that radiates to my back and it's caused from gastritis (inflammation of the stomach). It's terribly painful, and then my stomach is sensitive when I push on it. just another avenue to explore.
  18. Your spleen is also directly under your left rib cage. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it. I get this often too.
  19. Have you had all of your vitamins/mineral levels checked? What about hormones--i.e. female, thyroid. Are you certain gluten isn't slipping in anywhere or that you don't have another food intolerance/allergy issue? I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I went through a similar phase earlier this year. It turned out my hormones were out of whack due to a supplement...
  20. Good to know. I don't use their lipgloss, I use another natural brand that is gluten free..and I double-checked that specifically since I would likely ingest it.
  21. Me too. If I consume dairy, my face will break out the next day.
  22. I use Zuzu, a gluten-free line that I get at my local health food store. I stopped using Bare Minerals after Dr. Oz warned about the hidden dangers of breathing in the nano-particals. Not sure if it's really something to worry about, but he doesn't usually go too far off the deep end, so I stopped using it just in case. I like the ZuZu line - it's all natural...
  23. I had excessive ear wax my whole life until I went gluten free. I mean it was bad...kind of a bright orangey color and thick (grosses me out just thinking about it). My doctor used to have to flush it out regularly for me. Now, I don't have any come out on my q-tip unless I've eaten something I'm sensitive to. I've been told my several homeopathic doctors...
  24. For two months, I battled the same thing. Slowly, I realized in was almonds causing it for me...I had no other symptoms. After eliminating all tree nuts, the puffiness is gone. Now if I eat them, I also get stomach pain as if I were gluten. I would try eliminating all major allergens for a week or so and gradually add them back in (for me, sometimes it takes...
  25. Could it be the cheese giving you trouble? That would be my guess...
