  1. BTW, other food allergies/intolerances cause this for me too. One of my only symptoms of my recent problems with avocado is a feeling like I have a bladder infection. That was a fun one to try to figure out.
  2. I'm like you...if I consume too much of one food, I will build a intolerance or allegy to them. I also ate myself into problems with nuts, Eggs, avocado and something in my brown rice protein shakes. Rotation diets are key for folks like us, and we need to address our leaky gut a which I havent been successful in doing so.
  3. I also feel like I have a bladder infection when I eat something I shouldn't have (by accident).
  4. I'm reading this book for the second time, only because I want to keep its principles fresh in my mind (it's also a fun read). It helped me lose 30 pounds and I've kept it off for four years now. I went from a size 12 to a size 2, and people often wonder how I can eat what I do and keep the weight off. The secrets are in this book - it's all about your state...
  5. I used to have all of your symptoms, and remember spending many nights in my life trying to find a position to relieve the pain in my stomach. I never got a conclusive Celiac diagnosis (went gluten-free before testing), but I completely eliminated gluten and have adhered to the diet ever since. I can't tell you what a difference it made it my life. My periods...
  6. Purely from a product point of view, I used this line and did not like it. It's expensive and didn't do anything special for me, and I needed help bad. My hair was in poor shape from nutritional deficiencies and thyroid problems. I found better luck with John Master's organic line (styling products), and Desert Essence Organics Coconut shampoo and conditioner...
  7. Thanks guys for the replies. Jason, as you can see the testing can be tricky. A rheumatalogist (sp?) is the place to start...be sure to go to one highly recommended...I didn't and I've come to regret it.
  8. Sjogren's was diagnosed based only on the elevated ANAs...I don't have any symptoms (had tests ran on my eyes for dryness and no problems were found), and have always been a bit pissed that it's on my medical record. The doctor said that despite me not have any symptoms now, they will come in the future. Sounds speculative to me. I think now that I'm gluten...
  9. Hey, just curious...have you ever had your ANAs retested. They found mine elevated a few years ago and diagnosed me with sjogrens...but I've never had a symptom of the disease so I've also figured it had more to do with gluten intolerance. Never had it retested...
  10. Oh man, you know exactly how I felt then. A terrible injustice - darn gravity!
  11. Thanks guys. I can laugh about it now that I'm at home - thankfully, it's a loooong weekend too. Don't you find in those fleeting seconds you're trying to restable yourself to prevent a fall that everything happens in suuuuppppeeeer slow motion?! That only adds to drama to the whole event.
  12. I had to run across the street at lunch (there's a great outdoor mall there) and it took a lot longer than expected, so I came rushing back. I was nearly running in our back lobby when I suddenly lost my footing (thanks to my dog who chewed the non-slip grip off the bottom of my heels) and I started falling backward, but I caught myself, started flailing...
  13. Yeah, I agree. I just read through this post and he/she even made it make sense to me!
  14. I'm very sensitive to sugar so I do not eat it. The only exception is dark chocolate (I eat very dark, 80% or more) and some fruits (I even limit those to mostly low-sugar ones like berries). I function much better this way. My guess is that the gluten-free sweets contain more carbs and less protein than their wheat counterparts, which is possibly why...
  15. In my opinion, if they are throwing around the idea that you have lymphoma, then why in the he** are they making you wait so long to get an answer?! It seems ridiculous for them to keep you in limbo, and certainly the stress is no good for you. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this...I'll keep you in my prayers.
  16. One thing that comes to mind is that your body is purging a lot of toxins since you just quit smoking. When you go through this type of detox, it can really wreak havoc on your emotions. What are you doing now to control your stress, now that you don't have smoking as a crutch? I would also try to focus on anything that can help them process along, like...
  17. It's so nice to see someone getting the caring and supportive they need. My husband is also very supportive and wonderful.
  18. I have the same issue as well, not so much with yogurt though. However, I completely eliminated dairy because when I eat it, about two or three days later my face breaks out something fierce. It's very attractive with the bloated belly and gas that also come with it, let me tell you. I'd like my husband to remain attracted to me, so it's not part of the...
  19. You rock! Congrats! Being on this board for so long, I've always been so impressed by how much you help others, and I've learned so much from you. Come to find out you've been doing it in tandem with your recovery and school!? Remarkable. You deserve the best...cheers to you!
  20. For more than two years, I battled fatigue. I dragged through the day. Some of it was low iron, but the other missing piece was the discovery (through blood tests) that I was highly allergic to eggs. Once I eliminated them I'm proud to say I can stay up past 8:00 p.m.! My husband is happy now too because i can actually stay awake when he pops in a movie....
  21. Having high-levels of heavy metals that are foreign to our bodies will damage your health. Testing and treating me for mercury was a priority for my alternative health docs. All silver fillings contain mercury. If not removed properly, you will get mercury in your system. (Other sources are fish, etc). The test I did most recently was a urine test, I've also...
  22. I was addicted to the carbonation as well, and "kicking" the habit was one of the hardest for me. Now I don't even think about soda, but it took a while to arrive here. GT's Kombucha has a natural fizz that I love. Also, Zevia is a soda that is sweetned with stevia and no other chemicals. It may help wean you off the real stuff.
  23. So glad to hear the news. I think you're finally on your road to recovery, and you most certainly deserve it!
  24. I'll add one more thought...are you getting enough good fats? Sometimes the lack of it can really bind me up. Avocados, olive oil, fish oils, etc really help.
  25. Signatures are primarily used to provide history so you don't have to constantly repeat yourself in your posts, as history and current intolerances usually play a part in questioning or providing insights to others.
