  1. "Regardless of the results I am going to eat gluten free because I know gluten does horrible things to me, celiac or not. The main reason for really wanting the diagnosis is to show my husband that I'm not crazy and we really do need to be careful with wheat stuff in the house because he thinks I'm a hypochondriac (sp?) and for my other family memebers who...
  2. It's quite possible you have a vitamin/mineral deficiency. I take a liquid vitamin (Isotonix) that's helped me so much with my emotions because I'm getting all the minerals I need from it (I wasn't absorbing enough through food intake). I also supplement with 5 HTP and SAME, both are available at any health food store. I take both in low doses, which...
  3. Thanks for the info on H pylori. I thought I recognized that pier- I live in the South Bay. Saw your post on true foods- I'll have to plan a shopping trip to Fashion Island so I can have an excuse to check it out. I am listening to Dr. Mercola's video on Vitamin D. Thanks for the referral.

  4. Something to think about with hpylori treatment. If one person in a household has it, it's likely everyone will. One thing doctors won't mention is that you should treat your spouse as well or you may end up with it again. I think something like 60% of the population has it. There has been research linking it to an increased risk of stomach cancer, but IMHO...
  5. I know that intersection too. Good tip, thanks!
  6. I can only comment on the things I know about. Your vitamin D levels are dangerously low. Please go to mercola.com and read the importance of this vitamin. You may consider supplementing sublingually until your levels rising. I also have hpylori. It's very common but it can lead to problems for some. You can "supress" it with probiotics and foods like...
  7. If your limbs fall asleep eating gluten, do YOU think it's a good idea to keep eating it? I think that's a pretty serious side effect. I envy you. I cannot eat soy, corn, nuts, dairy or gluten. I don't let it get in the way of my life though. Yes, I have to pack my lunch and think ahead about things, and be super careful at restaurants, but it's better...
  8. Jason, even the CDC agress that 85% of diseases are based on emotion. Meaning negative thoughts and behaviors will lead to disease. I suggest you do whatever it is you need to do to get in a better frame of mind. That's one of the best ways to fight ever getting it.
  9. What kind of fiber do you take? The reason I'm asking, I started to have symptoms a few months ago and couldn't figure out for the life of me what was going on. I had allergy tests, which came back extremely high for eggs, so I cut them out. Little difference. I then began keeping a food journal and discovered psyllium husks were the culprit. A lot of supplemental...
  10. I would LOVE that. Please let me know if you ever want more company...would love to join!
  11. Please read the book "Dangerous Grains..." it will help answer what is happening internally when you digest gluten.
  12. We have a lot in common. I too started having some of my worse symptoms at 14. My eyes used to be so sensitive to the sun that I couldn't even sit in a sunny room without them tearing up and closing. I also used to have to pee all the time - I was the most annoying person to do things with because I had to constantly look for a bathroom (Rheumatologist said...
  13. Whether you have Celiac Disease or not, keep trying things with your diet until you find relief. Sometimes I go through severe reflex and stomach pain. I had an episode of it about three months ago and had a bunch of allergy tests ran. Turned out I am allergic to eggs, so I cut them out. It didn't help that much. I was still forced to take black licorice...
  14. Hi, and welcome! I just wanted to suggest you read "Dangerous Grains." I just re-read it last weekend and all the information is current. It's a very good book with a lot of helpful information.
  15. I also have elevated ANAs, but never had symptoms of Sjogren's Syndrome, even though I was diagnosed for it. My eyes were thoroughly checked and produced tears perfectly. I truly feel gluten has more to do with it than anything.
  16. Yes, not fgood stuff unless fermented, in my opinion.
  17. That's good to know. I live about a 5-minute walk from there!
  18. Probably just withdrawal. Do you happen to drink diet soda? Many people get severe headsches from aspartame.
  19. While you're getting all your other vitamin/mineral levels checked out, have them test you for iron deficiency. I can hardly remember my name when my iron levels are low. Also, when my thyroid acts up, my memory loss does too.
  20. I went through a period of hormonal imbalance that caused night sweats. I also cut of Soy and all estrogenic foods for a while, like flax seeds, etc. I reintroduced the other foods after things evened out, except for Soy. It's out for good. The diet also cleared up a overain cyst I had.
  21. Trader Joes has Gluten Free beef jerkey (the organic beef in green pack). Very yummy and a lot cheaper than whole foods. I eat this before I work out. Also, dried fruit is a good option for energy and trail mix.
  22. I can't eat any traditional breakfast items (see signature) because of food intolerances, so I had to get creative. I found something I love so much I look forward to it every morning and sometimes will have it for dinner too! Vanilla Pea, Hemp and Chia Seed Protein (Good Life is the brand name, I think...one scoop 25 grams of protein, 100 calories...
  23. I've tried it too and loved it. They used a corn-based pasta, which is why it's so light.
  24. I drink pea protein smoothies (sometimes twice a day). Each contains 25 grams of protein per scoop. It's super easy to digest. I add a whole avocado and stevia to taste, and just blend it with plain old filtered water and I break in whole food vitamins. Very tasty, actually! No pea flavor either! I would recommend that, other good naturally fats (like...
