  2. It is NOT gluten-free. Hope your reaction isn't too bad! The only beers that I know of that are safe for celiacs are Red Bridge, Bard's tale and La Messiere (french- I think our Canadian friends can get it). I've never heard of beer brewed from corn- vodka yes (Smirnoff is corn-based) but not beer. Bard's Tale is a sorghum lager and very tasty!

  7. I know some of their chips used to contain gluten, but those do not. Here's a link to their products page where you can get all the ingredients: Open Original Shared Link
  8. There is a correlation between celiac and gallstones. I can't remember the source of research I read but I found out I had gallstones at the same time I found out I had celiac. Here's an article on it: Open Original Shared Link and another thread from this board: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=24784

    ARCHIVED Celiac Or Lyme?

I'm not a doctor so it's hard to say. Lyme itself does not tend to be bilateral pain (not both knees- usually just one and then it moves) BUT bartonella, one of the tick-borne co-infections could cause bilateral pain (I had pain in both elbows until I treated the bartonella). The bladder pain I have had and mine was nerve pain due to Lyme. After two years...

  14. Here's a Betty Crocker link that might help you: Open Original Shared Link
  15. I know it's so frustrating but it probably could be CC from either. I know some people have been having problems with Chex and if the labeling on the Chinese rice noodles isn't specific, that may be a culprit. Sorry you feel rotten!
  16. No they don't. Here's another thread (among the many) on the topic: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=32303 Animals digest the gluten (which is a protein) so it would not be present in their flesh. In the beginning of healing, you may have difficulty tolerating some foods but if you are not toleerating meat, it's not because of...
  17. Wait until they taste flourless chocolate cake!
  18. All I have to say is THERE IS NO WAY I'M DYING just because I have DQ8......unless that's 8 sundaes from Dairy Queen! Now take a deep breath and repeat after me "My genes cannnot kill me, my genes cannot kill me"
  19. It does take awhile to get a grip on it so be patient and give yourself some time. Oh, Not Your Average Joe's- forgot about that! Pizzeria Uno (which unfortunately just closed their business in my area) has gluten-free pizza too! I know that at first they were trying it as a trial so you might want to call your local one and see if they're still doing...
  20. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TEERESA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! may the chicveb of good fortune lay an egg on your head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice eggs Geoss- cannot believe someone's melons were stolen
  21. Hi there- I'm from north of Boston and have celiac too. It IS overwhelming at first but after awhile, you get so used to it it almost becomes second nature. Great places to shop in the Boston area are Whole Foods and Trader Joe's . Lots of gluten-free options and things are clearly labeled. Legal Seafoods has a gluten-free menu (and it is TASTY!) as...
  22. Just wanted to let you all know that I experienced technical difficulties when merging the posts from "Chronic C and the SCD" posts into this thread. We are working on resolving the issue which changed the title of this thread. Thanks, Beverly
  23. As a fellow teacher, this makes me fume too!!!!!!!! You should confront her. She should have read your son's 504- it's the LEAST she could do. It sounds like a fun project BUT with the amount of children out there with food allergies, it's time for a change. PS My pet peeve is teachers who have been doing the same thing the same way forever. GRRR!!...
  24. I think you've gotten some good advice here. The blood test and biopsy all too often come back false negative. I too would wait for your scopes and then try going gluten free. Here's hoping you feel better soon!
  25. Hi- I hope the medications for H Pylori help your wife soon! That can cause a lot of really uncomfortable symptoms. I saw 2 GI's before I got a diagnosis. The first one did the biopsy (he took ONE tissue sample- yeah, that will tell you a lot) from a huge organ! Then since that biopsy was negative he told me it was all in my head. The second GI was...
