  1. Mission corn tortillas seem to be the tortilla of choice. They are produced on dedicated lines. (see their FAQ: Open Original Shared Link). Several of the store brands also have corn tortillas on their list too.

    ARCHIVED PCOS And Celiac

I think it's certainly possible (although unproven currently). The underlying cause of PCOS is insulin resistance and it is often treated with the diabetes drug Metformin. There have been a few studies linking PCOS with Hashimoto's so the autoimmune connection is definitely there. It's generally accepted that if you have one autoimmune disease you are...
  3. I absolutely love Joan's bagels and english muffins. We use the english muffins for buns and I would assume they'd make great pizzas. The bagels are out of this world (even my gluten eating friends and family think so too). Shipping is rather expensive so I do a bulk order every few months. Open Original Shared Link
  4. David, that link was quite entertaining!
  5. Unfortunately, it's not gluten-free. It's chock full of gluten grains. Food for life does make a few gluten-free products. They also make a few wheat-free products that contain gluten so you have to check their labels carefully. Here's a list of their gluten-free products: Open Original Shared Link
  6. It is. I have two of the little buggers. Although they aren't so little anymore. They both weigh in over 90 lbs.
  7. Welcome aboard Donna! I don't live in Arizona presently but I spent several great years in Scottsdale. I loved the summers there! I go back every chance I get.
  8. Hi Karen, Generally the concern with corn meal and masa is whether it's ground on the same equipment as wheat (which usually renders the product not gluten-free). I would recommend calling the company and inquiring about the gluten-free status of the product as most of their stuff isn't gluten-free.
  9. It takes a while to get comfortable with reading labels but eventually it'll be second nature! Here's a good primer: Open Original Shared Link In the US only wheat is required to be declared as an allergen so hidden barley and rye are your biggest enemies. Some companies like Kraft and McCormick will disclose all gluten grains but many won't. You...
  10. It is quite possible. Many members on this board do not have celiac yet react much the same way that our celiac members do. There is a lot that isn't known about gluten intolerance. Personally, I know more gluten intolerant people than diagnosed celiacs.
  11. Mike, your posts weren't deleted. They're on the previous page: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...st&p=520466 https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...st&p=520474
  12. I am so glad that you posted about this! I've seen those mushrooms and wondered if I could have them.
  13. What test are you using to confirm that a product has less than 5PPM?
  14. I love them. All of their stuff is gluten-free. They use wheat-free tamari for their soy products. I wasn't expecting the owner to reply to me and was really impressed with how much time she took answering my quite detailed questions and she really wanted to make sure that I felt comfortable with her answers and manufacturing processes.
  15. Bev, What other products from Amy's do you eat? Are the ones that say gluten-free made in the dedicated facility? I also see no gluten ingredients and wonder what the difference is between the two. I recently discovered sunbutter and love it! Janet
  16. It sounds like you may not be cooking it long enough. Can you post the recipe? Maybe we can help you out more if we know what the ingredients and cooking instructions are. I have good results when I put foil over the top after about 20 minutes. The crust doesn't brown as quickly so I can cook it longer. Also, I bake my bread on the bottom rack so...
  17. Mike, how did you verify that spices were contaminated? Did you speak with the companies about potential contamination? For the super sensitives I want to rave about Organicville products. I've exchanged emails with the owner and they are very commited to serving us. They require their suppliers to guarantee their ingredients and follow very dilligent...
  18. It is possible to have negative bloodwork and still have celiac (especially since you had a positive biopsy). IgA deficiency can cause false negatives. Knowing your IgA level would be helpful.
  19. I really like Open Original Shared LinkHypoallergenic line.
  20. You can ask your doctor to run a b12 test and that'll answer your b12 deficiency question. If you are deficient then your doctor should also test for pernicious anemia.
  21. I associate it with iron deficient anemia. Look into pica (craving and eating non-food items). It could mean something else in kids though.
  22. Progresso Creamy Mushroom and Health Valley Organic Cream of Mushroom soups are gluten free. Here's a recipe too: Open Original Shared Link
  23. I'm not sure how international coverage works but I don't think it would matter if you were on COBRA or had private insurance. I think it depends on how your policy is written. I have private insurance through Aetna. You can also check out these guys: Open Original Shared Link P.S. Please let us know about all of your wonderful experiences in...
