    Hmmm...yeah I think all the dairy-free cheeses that I've seen have soy. Luckily son isn't soy intolerant (although I don't let him have any soy besides that in fake cheese and the small amounts in chocolate etc., due to soy's possible impact on male reproductive hormones).

    You might ask your doc for a sleep study. You could be sleeping but not getting rest due to apnea or due to narcolepsy.     This is not true. I got Sensodyne Pronamel from my dentist (trying to help my sensitive teeth, another celiac symptom). So I called the number on the box and Glaxo said "Pronamel is gluten-free but is made on shared lines that are very well-cleaned. Other varieties of Sensodyne are not necessarily gluten-free."     My experience is similar to Gemini's. I had no perimenopause symptoms at 47 but BAM I was fully past menopause in about 3 months. Very strange.     I sent my husband to Costco to buy the ham and issued instructions like "Look on the label and then call Costco's help line to see if it's gluten free."     OK, I was in Tacoma last week for business and stopped at Friesenburgers and it was great. It's right off the exit right before you get to the Tacoma Dome and six blocks from downtown, so it's very convenient. I had the gluten-free mini-Friesenburger with bacon and cheese...it was HUGE! They also put an egg on it, which was OK but I'll leave that off...

    An advertisement for Friesenburgers Restaurant appeared at the bottom of this site for me (the "smart" forum knows that I'm near Seattle, I guess). They advertise gluten free burgers with tapica buns (maybe Ener-G) and safe eating. I don't get to Tacoma very often but have wished for a real burger (like I used to get at Kidd Valley or Dick's)...having one...

    I'm so happy for you that your BMB was clear and you don't have MGUS or worse. Regarding the celiac tests: Medical science isn't that perfect and celiac seems to be an area where docs don't know too much and the tests aren't perfect either. In my opinion you should ignore a doc that tells you to eat wheat/gluten if you have evidence from your own response...

    Actually, celiac messed up my hormones and put me into menopause a few years early. Your hormones hopefully won't be damaged by eating wheat again.     Elizabeth, My son went gluten-free and CF at the same time in 2008 (he was 14-1/2). He had noticed a dairy problem and the symptoms helped him see cause-effect, so that may or may not help your son. Now my son has gluten effects too, which he didn't at first. I bake only CF now and 99.9% of the meals I cook are CF (all are gluten-free). I add sprinkles...
