  1. Oh dear Lord, fried donut holes......
  2. I don't think I've ever seen a recipe call for tamping down the flour. I'd guess it's the same thing.
  3. It seems to me that a big machine shredding a very tall stand of grasses that include wheat grasses that are mature enough to sprout might be a valid concern. Those things can throw off major dustclouds, and depending on what state you're in there are certainly gluten grains growing wild. Not too hard to hit the windows when you see the equipment up ahead...
  4. Beyond the Sea- Bobby Darin
  5. I'm officially going to shut the he** up about my mystery flies. You did awesome......

  7. I turned on the central vac and sucked them up! Works great.
  8. Which is not to say I wouldn't love to have you come visit! Nope, purely residential. We're two houses down from the town hall. yay. We've had a LOT of attention from the building and zoning departments... le sigh... I'm going with yeti! This may explain why there were birds going psycho in my gutters the other day. It wasn't nest...
  9. But my house is modular. It's built in a factory and then assembled onsite in one day. I guess the factory guys could've put orange soda in the walls...... Irish, are you talking about spiders? No thanks! Running away now....

  13. Here too (CT). I have all the drapes drawn. Now I can't decide between mac n cheese and Chebe sandwiches.
  14. Sounds kinda like you're going to wind up with wholegrain cupcakes? Neroli, I haven't actually tried the montina flour yet, I've been real lazy in the past few years about baking, and it's kinda expensive. It's from some kind of ancient indian rice grass that's not actually rice. From what I've read, it's AMAZING to bake with.
  15. This may be a POIfect idea. I might just go with his favorite, mac & cheese.
  16. We've been living together for over five years. There's plenty of states where I can call him hubby! Not this one... but anyway. We tend to say hubby and wife, especially with strangers. Easier.
  17. I've seen 'pluots' in the store. Same thing? Hmmm..... Dindin last night was eggs and toast for hubby and chicken salad sammiches for me. He is out working in this 98 degree day, mowing lawns. I know he won't be home until at least 8. Any ideas for dinner? Trying to decide what will be good after a day like that.... With another one coming tomorrow...
  18. Oh, you like alternative, do ya? The Widow- The Mars Volta
  19. I was going to suggest glass. It's heavy and cumbersome, but safe. You can put little rubber feet on the back or use that rollup waffle-looking silicone/rubber mat stuff to hold it in place. Oy, I need to get a cutting board too....
  20. I don't know about you, but I have found the most success with putting as many different flours and starches into a recipe as I can. If it calls for one cup starch, I do one third potato, one third tapioca, one third arrowroot. For flour, I'd do one third sorghum, one third rice, one third buckwheat, or something like that. This is a cupcake recipe, so maybe...
  21. Hi! HI. hi. Hi? HI! -Standard conversation with my niece when she was ten months old.
  22. I Just Love You- Five for Fighting
  23. I think there should be a rule that once a topic's gone past 100 pages you don't have to worry so much about staying on topic..... I know, I know.....
