  1. Ratios! Same thing happens with gluten free baking, you just have a standard for fat/dry/liquid/whatever applies to the item you're baking. The best explanation of this is on the gluten free girl's blog. You need a scale to bake based on ratios.
  2. If they're selling/using drugs, it's something they're cooking, not growing. I never met anyone who got 'cranked up' on weed. I mean really.....
  3. Would it be possible to take video of these idiots and give that to the police? Would that help at all?
  4. Babs, have you ever found any beef bones available for purchase in the stores there? I'd have to think that at least bones wouldn't have any additives, because that seems kind of impossible. You could make yourself bone broths, they're very nourishing. The gelatin would help sooth your innards. I've read that people can survive for months on only a bone broth...
  5. Angel Eyes - Jeff Healey Good to know I'm not on the menu! (Although I have been known to nibble here an there.....)
  6. By this I assume you mean nervous tics, not biting ticks? Just checking....
  7. I'm glad you have an appointment with Dr Fasano. Is the abdominal pain constant, dull, throbbing, shooting, local, widespread, after certain food, diarrhea, reflux? Just trying to help you pin it down, constant pain is NOT normal, and no fun!
  8. Yup! A saluki, that's it! He's so fast, too, he's 6'5", so just his normal walking pace I have to jog to keep up with. And he runs, when he runs he just disappears into the distnce before you realize what's happening.
  9. What's the name of those tall skinny funny looking dogs that look like they're going to snap in half at the waist? Yup, that's my baby.....
  10. Holy crap. Um, can I ask how you were diagnosed? And what the ongoing issues that need a doctor's care are?
  11. Ah! I hadn't considered your masochistic enjoyment of this process. My apologies.
  12. Recipe need be forthcoming.
  13. At the risk of sounding stupid, why don't you just thaw his face first? Like with a blowdryer or a dip into a sinkful of warn water? Then throw the mask in the dryer?
  14. I can see reasons for wearing that hat. They all have to do with shoveling snow.
  15. Well, we are glad you're here! We have all the info you need. And I'm glad you're working on improving your diet. It may seem like when we complain about Celiac people eating gluten that we're just being 'Moms' or being disapproving because someone is breaking the club rules. In reality, we just don't want anyone to be sick. We want everyone to be as...
  16. I've only read the first article so far, but this is enough for me to stay away from oats. I've always been a subscriber to the 'better safe than sorry' school of thought. I also have never tried oats, they were not considered safe when I started the gluten free diet, and I never bought the whole 'we think it's safe now' thing. I need to have it proven to...
  17. Try teff porridge- I adore it. I get the whole grain teff from BRM, I only loosely follow the directions though. It's filling, more nutritious than oatmeal, and tasty!
  18. Oh, you're a silly darlin, that's for dang sure!
  19. My house is yellow. Neighbor's gray, light gray, dark gray, nother yellow, and one is this really wierd jaundiced peach, and another one is this horrendous leprous urine orange color. There's one white house on my street. So much for New England being monochromatic!
  20. Uh, you guys gonna keep talking in code? Give a girl a hint!
  21. I thought one stick of butter equaled half a cup?
  22. Are potatoes and sweet potatoes ok for paleo? Baked sweet potato doesn't even need anything added.
  23. This is a great idea! Virtual hugs for everyone!!! Also, do you have any friends with gentle pets? Pet hugs work really good. Also, a Netflix subscription! Lots of comedy that will at least make you laugh, which is very good for your hugs needs!
  24. GOOD: At Houma, a policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem--a 12-year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign, which read 'RADAR TRAP AHEAD.' The officer also found the boy had an accomplice who was down the road with a sign reading 'TIPS' and a bucket full of money. (And...
  25. Dani, is there some reason you can only get probiotics through your doctor?
