You all are so right, but some people just never learn and are quite adamant about staying ignorant. My sister Susan the research nurse has terrible D all the time, osteoporosis, depression and used to have migraines. Now she is in a wheelchair with two broken hips that won't heal due to the osteoporosis. She still sticks to her guns and won't practice...

Ho ho! Actually today I could use it. Do try activated charcoal next time, assuming you don't have salicylate sensitivity like I do--I need to come up with a low salicylate alternative. The charcoal absorbs the gluten --as well as everything else--so don't do it all the time. I hear it lessens the cross contamination effect from gluten often down to ...

ARCHIVED Eczema...how Long After Going Gluten-Free Did It Stop?
YoloGx replied to Metoo's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Yay, kudos for you! Am glad to hear its not as intractible as mine, though even mine is finally going away by being on the above herbs etc. and off heavy salicylates. -
Its tough. I had to learn it the hard way. My whole family thinks I went way overboard letting them know the benefits of going off gluten. They think I am just neurotic. They just don't see the improvements. When I get sick from CC they think I am making it up. They are so in their own reality they can't see out. I hope you find some way to get around this...

Yes I know it is incredible. Just remember the gliadin in the gluten has opiates in it. It is addictive. Most folks don't want to give up their comfort food nor do they want to deal with the social restrictions going out to eat etc. Think about it. This is why. It is hard to break someone's comfort zone unless already they are as uncomfortable with gluten...

ARCHIVED Eczema...how Long After Going Gluten-Free Did It Stop?
YoloGx replied to Metoo's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Hi Metoo, The gluten free diet improved my skin greatly. However it did not completely get rid of my eczema. I am having to go on a mostly vegetarian diet without animal fats or eggs for a while to clean out my liver/gallbladder. I am also taking herbs for the liver/gallbladder to cure my eczema in my ears and crotch area as well as relieve gallbladder... -
ARCHIVED Gallbladder/liver Congestion

Hi, Hope you all have had a good Thanksgiving! I prepared the whole meal with my boyfriend and we invited a couple of close friends as well as my older brother. Am exhausted but feel great! We all had a wonderful time. I was adamant that everyone wash their hands and one of my guests even took a shower and put on clean clothes so she could help out in... -

Sounds great Caroline. Its good news that you have no swelling etc! Best to be certain however that the tincture is entirely gluten free. Boiling it will not get rid of the gluten despite what they might tell you. Your doc might not be very conscious of these kinds of concerns. (I have run into this a lot even in the alternative medical community.) ... -
ARCHIVED Eye Problems, Skin Itching
YoloGx replied to Booghead's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Takala gave you very good advice. I also suggest you take dandelion root capsules or tea for the hives. It will help your liver which in turn should help out your skin and eyes. Eyebright tea is also excellent, both to drink and to use as a compress. If you can handle cleavers tea, make some up too as a tea. It is an excellent purifier of the lymphatic... -
ARCHIVED Sluggish Gallbladder/liver: Herbs And Salicylate/gluten Sensitivity
YoloGx replied to YoloGx's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you Caroline for this comprehensive info. from your herbal studies. This thing with the anti-lithics is very interesting. I would have thought that Barberry would also be liver decongesting. It does have other uses--it is also excellent against infections: viral, bacterial, fungal, microbial. Take note Skylark! Not everyone can handle it however... -
ARCHIVED Sluggish Gallbladder/liver: Herbs And Salicylate/gluten Sensitivity

These are fantastic links! Thank you Skylark and Caroline. I think finding out if one is TH1 or TH2 could be of great value for healing one's health. I am now wondering if there is anyone here in the SF Bay Area who could do these tests? The lowball self test to me would indicate I am TH2 since Green Tea is completely out for me. All I need to do is... -

Hi Bartfull, I just re-signed up at the salicylate site (though you got the url a little off I still found it). Thank you for reminding me about it. I just participated in the topic about kidneys on it. Kidney health relates closely to the issue with the liver/gallbladder actually, since many of the same herbs work for both. If the liver/gall bladder... -
ARCHIVED Sluggish Gallbladder/liver: Herbs And Salicylate/gluten Sensitivity

Hi Skylark--I copied and pasted some of your remarks and put them in quotes which I then responded to underneath: "For enzymes, can you eat fresh papaya or pineapple? Sometimes the natural forms are much better than pills." That is such a good idea. I can't handle pineapple, however fresh papaya should be fine. I will buy some today!! "I realized... -

Hi C--good to see you here! Don't know what you mean by a scalloped tongue. Please explain. Hmm--I used to use rosemary all the time. I should look it up to see if it too is low in sals or not. It was the peppermint that really messed me up. When I would drink that sleep went out the window. What exactly meanwhile do you mean by the herbs being... -
ARCHIVED Gallbladder/liver Congestion
YoloGx replied to CR5442's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi C, No bugs for me either, however honestly I think the liver/gallbladder issue is dietary related as well as stress an d possibly some CC issues with gluten to start it all off. Ihave been completely gluten free now for 4 years and have found that I just don't get the colds and flu etc. I used to get bugs with a vengeance--and for far longer than the... -
ARCHIVED Sluggish Gallbladder/liver: Herbs And Salicylate/gluten Sensitivity
YoloGx replied to YoloGx's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Monael Certainly this condition is not limited to those who have salicylate sensitivity! I suggest you try just a bit of each herb at a time to see if they all agree with you. The barberry I suggest you take last since it is the most bitter and is not always tolerated by everyone. I got them in powder form and take a teaspoon in boiling water and... -

Hi Skylark, Thanks for the link to the SCD salicylate/phenol article. I was hoping you would respond to my query. The article has a lot of good info and helps me see all this in more perspective, particularly about the phenols and the role of sulpher and leaky gut. Interestingly I was on the SCD diet for 10 months but it did not entirely work for me, as... -

Check out my new post. Seems my liver/gallbladder are now blocked up too. Suppose it is due to it being Fall?? Plus too much fatty meat and butter of late... Just looked up dandelion, marshmallow, oregon grape root and barberry and found they are actually NOT high in salicylates plus they are NOT killer T-cell immune stimulants (with celiac etc. you need... -
ARCHIVED Sluggish Gallbladder/liver: Herbs And Salicylate/gluten Sensitivity
YoloGx posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have just recently experienced problems in my liver/gallbladder which seem to be helped by avoiding meat and butter for now and emphasizing raw blended veggies like parsley with celery and ice burg lettuce, and cooked veggies, whole cooked brown rice, fresh ground flax seed, lots of water, some plain no fat yogurt--and to my amazement, my old detox herbs... -

I think you should open this up as a topic. You will find I am not alone in this opinion. It would be interesting to find out the scientific proof as you say. For most of us at any rate it is a very real problem. What you get in the circulating hot air in the oven does affect most of us and could be silently undermining your health in the background. Or... -
ARCHIVED Gallbladder/liver Congestion

Some folks are so blocked up however they can't handle to cleavers and should go for something more gentle, at least at first. Cleavers is also great for the urinary system. Too bad yellow dock meanwhile is also an immune stimulant. It is fantastic as a systemic for these kinds of problems... Ditto with burdock. If peeing is a problem, just take... -

I did not invent this problem about old gluteny ovens. I don't know if there is scientific proof or not, however almost everyone on celiac.com has to bake their baked items in a completely gluten-free oven or suffer from the effects. It is part of the standard procedure. Certainly you must have heard about it before now?? Just this last week both my boyfriend... -

Am glad to hear that the dandelion is working so well for you! I also thought I'd mention that while studying herbs is a wonderful thing, you might want to consider also studying homeopathy, just for the simple reason I mentioned before: so many herbs are immune stimulants. Sad but true. The good thing however here is that they still often can be used... -

"Cheers yolo, I agree with your sentiments re my flatmate however he is normally pretty good but to him it's moving from the country to the city (and all the excitment of being in the town and being able to go out on the piss from our doorstep, you know what I mean) and he is my best mate so I'm wary of pushing him too hard - also I kind of need the rent...
