  1. Here's what its called:
  2. I agree--a food diary is essential if you are still having troubles. You could also consider going off the common allergens at first to see if that helps--like soy, milk, eggs, coconut, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, corn and of course sugars. I would also suggest going on either a whole grain diet or, to be more radical, a grain free diet (depending on how...
  3. For me its the B1 that I need to not get the nerve pain, but it is the same idea. I take the entire co-enzyme B complex since that way it is more balanced. Bea
  4. I have had similar pains. I found that going off all trace gluten really helped, as did taking co-enzyme B vitamins from "Country Life on an empty stomach. I still had some residual pains however and recently have found that regularly taking olive leaf extract or tea really helps immensely. Of course the magnesium and calcium are also essential as are trace...
  5. I agree--you should see a doctor. Non Hodgkins is more treatable than most cancers according to the Mayo clinic if its caught early. Meanwhile however I am hoping you have eat more basic whole foods with tons of vegetables--rather than the sugary bleached flour foods that you see in various articles etc. Bea
  6. Hi Glamour, Am not certain abou the safety of Bragg's Amino Acids. Anyone here know?? There are safe gluten free tamari's available however. The ginger is great since it also helps with the digestion as well as being very tasty. Not all can handle it, however--like my roomie can't--so I add mine separate to dishes. Makes a nice addition to tea too...
  7. Glad you like it Lizard! Don't be afraid to throw in your suggestions, questions, experiences. We are just beginning here. Meanwhile, lately I have added some brown rice to my 24 hour home made yogurt and sunflower seeds (sweetened with stevia) for breakfast and am liking how it makes me feel--more grounded and solid in the morning--which has always been...
  8. Hi again, yes, vegetable etc. juicing is excellent for detoxing and giving you extra energy. All those fresh enzymes are very good for you. You could however also blend the veggies and that way get fiber. Its your choice however. You can get fiber other ways--like grind up some fresh flax seed (1 to 2 tablesp.) in a coffee grinder and maybe add 1/4 tsp...
  9. Maybe if you cut up one or a few other vegetables to put with your onions, garlic, peppers etc. it could be very tasty! I suggest a bit of ginger to make it even more interesting since it seems you may like a little spice. One really easy one is baby bok choy. Takes hardly any time to cook--so add towards the end. Could easily make a stir fry. Heat pan, start...
  10. Glad to hear you are doing so much better! It really is so nice to be able to exercise! Something one really appreciates when you have gone through a period of time when you can't. Stirs up the mitochondria and all that and makes you feel young again! I suggested the olive leaf due to you mentioning the aspergillus--which I have heard is very hard to kill...
  11. You might want to try going on either a paleo diet or a specific cabohydrate diet. It might be best to avoid the rice and potatoes, either one or both could be bothering you. You could substitute squash and other roots besides potatoes instead for the carbohydrates. It also might be helpful however to make your diet more low carbohydrate and thus emphasize...
  12. I have not been diagnosed with RA however I have had severe joint inflammation and pain as has my partner. He in fact gets so bad he can't even go out for walks, he has so much pain in his joints plus his skin becomes very painful. However the following remedies have helped both him and me. I agree with Chasbari, going on a diet without grains or sugars...
  13. Hey--did you ever try taking olive leaf on a regular basis? It actually kills off fungi as well as viruses, bacteria and parasites without harming us. Really a wonder. If you decide to take it, however, do it slowly. At first you are likely to get a Herxheimer effect otherwise. Bea
  14. With cross contamination (known on the boards here as CC) you don't know if you are affected by it unless you go off all trace gluten. This means even toothpaste, old wooden cutting boards, spoons and bowls, toasters, shampoo, and of course the various glutenous additives in things that aren't always so obvious. There is a list here on celiac.com that you...
  15. Don't mean to overwhelm Swimmr! Honestly I have gone through most of the stuff I suggest and often still use it. I finally wrote a new outline for a book I mean to write on all this stuff--kind of a book for the sensitive celiac/gluten intolerant who has been through everything. The saunas and the mud packs (one at a time, eh?) help remove toxins through...
  16. It takes time to convince oneself when the culture is so different to your needs. But you have done the work and know what to do. That is a blessing! I honestly wonder what the line is between celiac and severe gluten intolerance. The more I learn the less difference there seems to be. Do you also have to avoid cross contamination of gluten for instance...
  17. Welcome to the board! Am so glad you know what to do to take care of yourself! Wish I did at your age--though at least I figured out part of it. Bea
  18. The other thing that helps me against pins and needles feeling is to take co-enzyme B complex on an empty stomach every day. I get tablets from Country Life since I can't handle the common sublinguals with their sorbitol. I need it mainly for the B-1 since without it I have Beri Beri like symptoms (part of my Scandinavian heritage it seems). Check it out...
  19. This is interesting. This is the second reference on water today I have run across. It amazes me if its true that the charcoal filters don't get the fluoride. I need to check this out. I would never drink water directly out of the tap. One thing that has helped stop pins and needles as well as general body and neck and back aches and pains has been regular...
  20. My boyfriend and I have had similar problems. How we resolved it is to make our food from scratch. It actually is a lot cheaper and in the long run, it takes less time since this way we don't get sick from cross contamination as well as other issues with mass produced food that might not be quite right for us. In addition, we avoided all grains for...
  21. Thanks Michelle. I still look at the SCD thread; just not as much involvement. Its hard not having fruit--but in actuality for some of us, even harder with it. Just the breaks I guess... I used to not have lemons either but eventually discovered they were fine for me. However when I was on the antibiotics, once again I could not tolerate them. Taking massive...
  22. Glad to hear you figured out its better to be healthy than sick! Definitely worth the trouble... I like NOW's Gr-8' acidophiles. They are enterically coated and completely gluten free. Could be stronger--however they agree with me. They get to where they are supposed to go since the coating keeps them from dissolving in the stomach. I have trouble with...
  23. Hi Jan, I way agree about the blender! By the way, the blended vegetable blend I made this morning had too much "bite" to it due to the green onions and garlic I put in. I was amazed since I didn't put in much but the flavor seems to carry a lot more. So for lunch I used part of it as a sauce for my salad--very nice! (along with the oil and lemon juice...
  24. Seems like this could also make a great "lasagna" if cut up and put in layers--esp. with some cheese or a little chicken or fish or??? or who knows maybe egg. Could use brown rice too, yes... or as you did with quinoa. Brown rice is way better than white since it is not bleached.... Bea
  25. Graeme does both steps of the chicken soup in the crock pot, however it could be done either way, depending on how much time you have available etc. Some people de-bone the chicken after its cooled off or not, depending on if you like bones. They are a good source of calcium so I usually keep them--however Graeme takes them out... Too "earthy" for many...
