  1. Did you try eliminating all dairy products? Many people with celiac disease are temporarily lactose intolerant until their intestines heal. If you have been on the diet for awhile, casein (the milk protein) or soy intolerances are some things to look into.
  2. I have a gluten and dairy free brownie recipe if you are interested.
  3. The body needs time to heal and once it does you'll feel so much better. Just be patient
  4. Today I had two small gluten-free pizzas, half of a grape fruit, Kinnikinick Italian white bread with Kraft crunchy peanut butter, Thai Kitchen roasted garlic rice soup noodle bowl, a blueberry smoothie, lots of orange juice, and about a cup and a half of watermelon. I may have some popcorn later.
  5. I'm glad that the endoscopy went well! Just let us know if you need any meal ideas or recipes.
  6. I had the tissue transglutamase test and I believe that my number was around 20.
  7. Oats are usually contaminated with gluten. I believe that there are only a few brands of oats that are not contaminated.
  8. The labs that analysed my tests are usually fast. I have recieved some of my test results within 2 days, but I always called and asked for them when I got them that quick. Let us know how everything goes.
  9. That is a really good idea! Thanks Some of those gluten free breads can be really dry.
  10. What was the brand name of those bars? I hope that you didn't get too sick from them and are feeling better now I'm very dissapointed in the companies that stamp "gluten free" on their products when they really do have gluten in them. I have also been glutened by a product with gluten free on the label.
  11. Thanks! There are some good ideas on that list
  12. Thanks for letting us know. I'll make sure not to eat any of those. I hope you are feeling better now.
  13. Whenever I am glutened now, I usually get chicken pox like spots on my skin, which I never had before going on the diet. I'm not sure if it is dh because I have only had gluten in accidents or cross contamination since going gluten free. I also have a wheat allergy, so the spots could be related to that.
  14. orange juice
  15. I am also dairy free and gluten free. The diet was hard at first, but now I find it really easy and I actually enjoy eating this way. I eat so much healthier now! If you need any meal ideas or recipes, just let me know.
  16. I'm glad that you have a diagnosis and can start feeling better.
  17. Kraft will clearly indicate gluten on their ingredient lists. Kraft crunchy peanut butter is gluten free to my knowledge.
  18. Yeah, that is crazy! I see that once in awhile around here too, more t-shirts than shorts though. Shorts usually make an appearance around here during the winter thaws, when the temperature goes from around -20 to +10.
  19. Thanks for posting that information I was wondering if their drinks were safe. I guess not!
  20. I became intolerant to dairy around the same time that I became intolerant to gluten. I believe that I am intolerant to casein, the milk protein. However, I have never been officially tested for a casein intolerance. I'm just going by my own observations.
  21. Where I live in Canada, it can get pretty cold sometimes, like -25C or colder and that's without the windchill. Brrrr. Outside fashion and style no longer exist for me once winter hits When it gets super cold outside, I will wear my winter coat, snowpants, winter boots, a ski mask, mittens or gloves, a hat, a scarf, plus my hood. When I'm all bundled up...
  22. Many people with celiac disease have food intolerances in addition to gluten. I believe the most common ones are dairy, soy, corn, eggs, and nuts.
  23. How long have you been on the gluten free diet? I was almost constantly sick for about 6 months after I started the gluten-free diet. I slowly started getting better after that, but most of my symptoms didn't really start clearing up until after 1 year on the diet. Most people, however, start feeling better after 3-4 months on the diet. I know that...
  24. I'm cold most of the time too. I find that exercising really helps me get warm, for a few hours anyway. Also, when I am cold, I find that eating hot soups warms me up really fast.
  25. Have you had the celiac blood test panel done? Sometimes the doctor can miss damage in the small intestine during a biopsy since the damage from gluten can be patchy. I think that Wheat-Free, Worry-Free: The Art of Happy, Healthy Gluten-Free Living by Danna Korn is a good book. Several months before my diagnosis some of my symptoms would come and...
