  1. It seems to me that with her degree of sensitivity it would be dangerous to put her on gluten just for testing.
  2. I think the fully developed sprue like changes are "Diffuse severe mucosal abnormality characterized by scalloping, congestion, flattening and nodularity." There are some great sites showing endoscopies and celiac changes. Sorry don't have a link at the ready. This means you had lots of visible damage, and didn't need the microscopic exam to clarify...
  3. Steak and chocolate sound yummy! I'm still on "mush." Even the pureed carrots (my blender leaves tiny chunks) that have been cooked 4 hours come through undigested, though I think I am getting some good out of the food. Fatigue and brain fog are the most disabling for me, and the very intense pain can be as well. Yeah for 80%!!!!!!!!!
  4. Probably, it is certainly been a symptom. Sorry I lost the link...I think it had goodman in it or something?
  5. I think you will need to look into whether you have heavy metal toxicity. Have you done that? I can't recall reading that from posts on other threads.
  6. I'd look into getting a reverse osmosis water filter; my allergist said it is the best option and is very important for treatment. I think you are going to need to go grain free. Keep in mind that if you are not able to absorb, you'll lose weight anyway. www.pecanbread.com is SCD and a lot of ideas for dairy free because many of the autistic kids...
  7. Ditto for me, welcome to this thread mslee!. There are different approaches with allergists. Hopefully you have one that believes in and treats this area. If you google multiple chemical sensitivity or MCS you should find a lot of helpful information. My allergist can test for some of the major chemicals and could treat with a titrated drop...
  8. How frustrating! That seems weird that the temp varies that much. Did the water cover the jars most of the way up? My experiment doing intro again has been a bit discouraging. I just can't find the key to the constipation issue. After weeks of great improvement, I can't figure out what is causing this. I'm only eating a very few things. One thought...
  9. I have trouble with coconut but haven't experimented enough to know which forms. For sure, canned coconut milk is an issue.
  10. I'm not sure, seems like you are covering the basics. Be sure your lyme testing is through Igenex lab. They have a much better rate of detection. Many labs are as low as 40% accuracy. Any changes in diet?
  11. There is quite a bit of discussion on the board recently about casein and gluten, you might look for a thread with that in the title. From my understanding, casein intolerance is pretty common in celiacs, but not every celiac. Some seem to improve after gluten-free and can reintroduce it. Others remain casein intolerant. Casein reactions can be either...
  12. Nora this is very interesting, I tested postive with ART for chlamydia pneumoniae and that is on the cfs sites I noticed. I can't get the link to work though.
  13. Yeah, Rachel. Wonder how they stay in business.
  14. Good advice here. This link might be helpful too. Open Original Shared Link Since you are diagnosed celiac we can assume significant damage to the villi; this likely means among other things that you are not able to digest carbohydrates. This leads to a lot of imbalance in the gut. So I also second the idea that you take a look at SCD or try a low...
  15. Check blood clotting factors?
  16. Birdy a PPI doesn't treat h pylori, only helps the symptoms. Reduction of stomach acid isn't really a good thing according to what I have read. Mastic gum is good for h pylori if you want something more natural. Otherwise there are a couple of antibiotics that work, along with pepto bismol or something with bismuth in it.
  17. Really? How are they pasteurized?
  18. Yeah, it isn't so great overcooked, LOL. I'm steeling myself--hoping I don't have to eat mush for 6 months. But I think prior to the local almond switch, it was not a problem. SCD info as I recall says beware of flour/starch on the almonds, used to help the flavorings stick or whatever. Its not like the symptoms are severe or anything, but my gut...
  19. Okay thanks. Enula wasn't causing that before I left the USA so I am not really suspecting it. I am tracing down the problem, the most likely culprit is that the local almonds are not raw. Apparently they soak them in salt water and flavorings then dehydrate them. I am still looking for raw. I thought I had found some with only salt added. Due to...
  20. Carla, by any chance have you picked up any info about Enula causing constipation? Just curious.
  21. Yes, I agree, having experienced that myself. Well--I don't have *proof* by biopsy, but from all indications I have had problems healing. And I have been quite strict gluten free. I can't get anything processed so I make everything. That reduces the potential of CC a lot. Still I think it is a good step to check everything, call every company, etc...
  22. Yes I was doing the almonds in the USA every day--in muffins basically, not much else. I think the problem here may be finding raw almonds. Here apparently they soak them in salt water and "flavourings" then dehydrate them. I thought I got some this time with just salt but my housekeeper thinks there may be more things in it in the salting process. I...
  23. Fig girl, I had been using almond flour regularly since my first 5 day round of intro in July. I went back on intro for three days over the weekend to see if it would help with my return of constipation. It didn't help with that, but I did get a slight die off feeling (MUCH less than the first time on intro). So I added in a muffin yesterday (constipation...
  24. Sorry, I misread your post. I agree with other poster here that it may take quite a bit more time than 5 days, I hope you see some relief soon. If you don't, you might want to check out the website I mentioned, read some of the stories at least. His diet contains a lot of carbohydrates and he may not have the enzymes to break most of those down.
  25. Dina, I couldn't tolerate ANY of the acid blockers at all. It was a nightmare being on any of them. If you still have H Pylori, I would consider trying mastic gum. The increased allergies seem to happen to some people after going gluten-free. The chemical sensitivity is also concerning. You could be going through a healing crisis, but it sounds like...
