  1. Call this number: 1-800-TRY-SOUP You should be able to get the answer from them. Personally since it is not on their gluten-free list I would not use it.
  2. She can't fake not smelling up the TV room and as another poster stated 2 weeks is not long enough to heal. With things so up and down when we are healing she may be having some days where she is feeling a bit better and others where she is not. I hope you are able to get some conclusive results from another doctor or from putting her back on gluten and getting...
  3. That was also my families experience. I was given handfuls of PPIs and told to just see which ones worked. After a couple weeks gluten-free I knew they were not needed. My DD only had Gerd and vomiting as far as her GI symptoms were concerned and both also resolved after she went gluten free without the aid of the Prilosec the doctor prescribed her. PPIs...
  4. You're not wacko you are a loving and caring mother who is desperately searching for the answer for your childs problems. Words can not express how angry I am at the way you are being treated. IMHO it may be worthless to have that doctor even do the endo since he has already decided she can't possibly be celiac he may not even look for it. You have some...
  5. Those who don't have an issue with gluten can stop and start eating it again and again with no problems. By dropping it and then adding it back in you are doing a challenge. Your having a reaction is indicitive of a problem with gluten and is part of the diagnostic picture.
  6. Well your reaction is certainly giving you the answer as to whether you tolerate gluten or not. As the others have said 2 weeks isn't going to do it as far as testing goes it needs to be more like 2 or 3 months. Even then you could have a false negative. If is quite possible to feel intoxicated if you are someone who has brain impact. I used to wonder why...
  7. It sounds like most folks had a pretty good holiday. Those pictures of that food look wonderful. Especially the peppermint patties. I made a roast with potatoes and veggies yesterday. Unfortunately I over cooked it cause I got involved on the phone with my kids. If they were here they would have said I always overcook beef though. I finished dinner off...
  8. Reintroduce them one at a time and do each for a week. I would start with something easy to digest like maybe peas or carrots. Do make sure they are well cooked when first introducing them as they will be easier to digest. Hopefully by doing them one at a time you will have a few you are able to tolerate. Since you said you ended up in quite a bit of pain...
  9. Before you take it for a refund call the company as the gravy may have been fine. Point out during the call that the package and the website gave conflicting info. The company may well have changed to a gluten free gravy but not updated the website yet. There is a good chance the company will either refund your purchase or send you coupons for items that...
  10. How long have you been gluten free? If it is more than a week then it may affect test results. If you have only been Gluten free for 4 days then just go back to it until the testing is finished including the endoscope if you are having one.
  11. Another name that doctors use for that period is the 'honeymoon period'.
  12. It is not unheard of for a celiac child to seem to be able to go back on gluten in their late teen and young adult years. It is the reason doctors used to think that people could outgrow celiac. If you can get copies of the tests you had as a child that would be a good thing to do. If those were positive you can be pretty certain that you are indeed celiac...
  13. Welcome to the board. You do sound like you are in the right place. Glad you are getting tested but be sure not to go gluten free until all celiac related testing is done. After your testing is finished you should go gluten free even if the tests results are negative. Give it at least a few months as healing can be up and down for the first couple of months...
  14. Thanks for posting. Here is a link to that item on their website Open Original Shared Link "Product Features: Gluten Free The Biggest Loser® product Preseasoned Comes sealed in our Fool-Proof® cooking bag With Gravy Packet (contains gluten)" They need to put that warning about the gravy in an obvious place on that package. Wonder how many others d...
  15. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas also. Whether you are celebrating alone or with family or friends the knowledge and kindness of so many here helps to ensure, as much as possible, that our meals will be safe and we can look forward to a healhier and happier New Year.
  16. Many soup companies use wheat as a thickener in all their soups. A quick look at the back of any Campbells or most store brand soups will confirm this. If the restaurant makes their own then the soup base or broth may also have gluten. There are some places where it might be safe but when in doubt you did the right thing by not ordering it.
  17. Your doctor is ill informed as the others have pointed out. The muscle and joint pain are from the inflammation. It can be very severe especially prediagnosis. So many doctors don't look past their own specialties. In this doctors case the gut. If you can't switch doctors try to educate this one perhaps with some peer reviewed articles.
  18. I do hope that you don't get too ill because of this. We all have made mistakes so don't beat yourself up about it. I hope you feel better soon.
  19. If you are not already gluten free you could ask for a referral to a GI if you need a diagnosis for school or other family or yourself to take the diet seriously. You could also ask the doctor for a note for school/college if you are still in them so they will accomodate your needs. It would be a good idea to post your test results as sometimes not all the...
  20. I agree completely. Plus there is something about walking around my small cities downtown area and looking at the decorations in the shop windows that just makes it seem more like Christmas than fighting the crowds at the malls or sitting behind my computer. You get to actually touch and hold the items and talk with the clerks and maybe even give a smile...
  21. Your description and the areas where he is broken out are identical to where my DH broke out first when I was about 7 or so. It later spread to cover my arms and legs but I was of course still on gluten then. It was hell because when ever I would bend my arms or legs it would make the itching worse. Do delete iodine in supplements and salt until this resolves...
  22. I hope they do all they can to remove gluten ingredients from the OTC and script drugs we use. Hopefully they won't decide that wheat starch is gluten free and we don't have to worry about it. I have to wonder how many adverse reactions to drugs are not to the drugs themselves but to those durn binders.
  23. Just to be on the safe side you need to make sure she is not having petit mal seizures. Do bring this up with her ped. If she is celiac that can cause seizure activity so be sure she isn't being CC'd.
  24. Are you taking supplements? Sublingual B12 and a good gluten-free stress level with Bs and C may help a bit. You also need to make sure you are getting enough sleep, something that can at times be hard when you are young. Do others in your home eat gluten? If so you need to be sure that you are doing all you can to prevent cross contamination. To heal quickest...
  25. If they can't find the ones in your size go back and get the ones that are too big then head to your local tailor shop (sometimes found in dry cleaners shops). They will remake them into a size that is just right for you.
