ARCHIVED Walmart Has Hodgson Mill gluten-free Soy Flour...is It Any Good?
Yellow Rose replied to Kara'sMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I took my 3 yr old off milk about a month ago. She was a cheese freak. We switched her to soy milk (Silk) brand, soy yogurt that we get at Wal-Mart and soy cheese also at Wal-mart. She never noticed the difference. I tried it myself and it is really good. It tastes just like reg. milk and the vanilla one tastes like coffee creamer. Yummy. My DH bought... -
ARCHIVED Testing Question
Yellow Rose replied to Yellow Rose's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just talked with my mom and he has been off about a month, the D has gone away. He has real bad health problems probably due to Celiac's. I read her your reply and she didn't think he would be willing to go through 6 months of D again. My mom went off before testing and her Dr. told her that she was sensitive to wheat but not Celiac however, she did have... -
Good Grief, Go away for a week and a half and everythings changed. But, I really like the color changes of green with the exception of posts. For me it needs to be darker. I have several blank vision spots and am finding this part hard to read. I notice that magazines are using white type on darker pages and it is maddening to try and read it. I...

My uncle has been talking with my mother who after my urging went off gluten. He had the same D symptoms and has had wonderful improvement. Now he told my mom that he is going to be tested. I told her he has to go back on the gluten for the tests to come out right. She wants to know how long should he go back on the gluten before testing. Thanks, Yellow... -
I have had RA for 28 years now. I have the genetic marker for RA. However, gluten seems to be the thing that set it off to begin with. After going gluten free for 7 months I have improved. ARCHIVED Hypoglycemia + Elimination Diet = ?
Yellow Rose replied to Sweetfudge's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
There is new evidence that 1/2 a tsp. of cinnamon taken in the morning will stabalize your blood sugar. My DH takes it with applesauce and he is doing so well. It took about a week before he started noticing the results. We found capsules last weekend at Wal-Mart and he is now using those instead. His only complaint about the capsules is he sometimes... -
ARCHIVED What Is A 504?
Yellow Rose replied to sammers1's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
For a celiac person a 504 is classified as other health imparied. You will need to get a Dr. letter stating that the student has celiac. After that you will need to request a 504 meeting. You need to do this in writing as the school has 30 days to schedule one and only have to do it if it is in writing. 504 will also cover absences that are related to... -

Judy I am hearing you about not many food choices left. I was doing better just doing veggies, fruit, and meats. George Forman Grill has become our favorite way to cook. I got a magazine in the mail the other day that had seasoning mixes you could make yourself. I am going to try them and see how they taste. If they are any good I will post them. ... -

My son is hosting his first time and I just informed them I would be bringing my own food. I don't ask anymore but tell people that I will bring my own. ARCHIVED How Do You Deal With Gluten Cravings?
Yellow Rose replied to mythreesuns's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My way of dealing with cravings is to think of it as poision because that is really what it is to us. You wouldn't eat something with poision on it no matter how good it looked or smelled. My husband's and my birthdays are 2 weeks apart in August and my daughter made her father a beautiful chocolate cake with chocolate icing dripped on the top and down...
