I've been on Yasmin for over 4 years...I've called the company, as have my doctors to assume me that it's gluten free. I've never had any problems with it! But hey..if you think it's the source of your pain I totally think you should change it, I've heard Yaz is a great birth control as well.

ARCHIVED Nana's Cookies Problem
modiddly16 replied to MPARANA's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Are you sure that you're getting the No Gluten Nana's Cookies? there are some normal ones, some No Wheat and No Gluten............just because it says No Wheat doesn't mean that there isn't gluten in it and sometimes this easily missed? I eat the No Gluten ones with no problems, but everyone is different -
ARCHIVED Hornsby's Hard Cider
modiddly16 replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I believe that the real answer is no, Hornsby's Cider is not safe... -
Does anyone else always feel like they have to number 2 after eating? I had a UTI and ever since then, it seems like my system is a lot more sensitive than it was before. I'm really strict, I've been gluten free for 4 years...but now I just can't seem to get a normal cycle...like everytime after I eat I feel like I need to use the restroom...sometimes it...

It makes me mad that they even asked us for votes and asked what we want when Allergies got the popular vote but "everybody has pets" so she'll sell more...I think it's ridiculous....I won't be buying all of Martha's magazines just to see when they decide they want to put a special recipie or article in there. This goes to show that Martha doesn't really...

ARCHIVED Golly, Are We "trendsetters"?
modiddly16 replied to Rosebud710's topic in Publications & Publicity
I'm completely 100% fine with people thinking it's we're trendsetters......its our in to start educating everyone which will open tons of doors for us when the "trend" lessens. besides..I'm pretty cool and trendy to begin with, as are the majority of you on this here little board..it's only natural for people to want to be as cool and smart as us!! -
ARCHIVED Restaurants That Have Gluten Free Food In Myrtle Beach Sc
modiddly16 replied to suepooh4's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
There are SO many local restaurants there that you can call (during off hours...aka not near dinner time) that will gladly work with you and any issues that you have. There are wonderful seafood places that you can eat and steakhouses that will work around your issues if you just give someone a heads up!! Barefoot Landing has wonderful places in NMB that... -
ARCHIVED Frozen Products
modiddly16 replied to sjs123's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hopefully you put them in the freezer upon arrival even with your hesitation. As long as they were still packed tightly and kept cool there shouldn't be any problems with the items that you received. They're shipped in a timely fashion but while they can't forsee the climate issues, even if they're defrosted a little it doesn't spoil the items that quickly... -
ARCHIVED Wild Vines Wine?
modiddly16 replied to holiday16's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've never heard of a wine having gluten. -
I eat there all the time...I trust the ingrediant lists, if it doesn't say wheat and the rest of the ingrediants look acceptable, I see no reason why you couldn't have it...unless you have some other allergy...however, i'm sure some people wouldn't touch it because they don't trust it, it's really up to you!

I had the same problem...got really sick after ordering from the gluten-free menu...they even said "here's the gluten-free so and so" when they brought it out...this was in Georgia

ARCHIVED Deland Bakery

ARCHIVED Baked Lays?
modiddly16 replied to ilovechocolate's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
A reaction from Baked Lays could actually have nothing to do with gluten..I LOVED their chedder and sour cream baked lays chips until I ate too many...and the Olestra in the chips actually does give you a gluten reaction....I've heard of some people having CC issues and others are fine...but with Baked Lays this was the problem for me! -
ARCHIVED Hamburger Buns, Finally!
modiddly16 replied to JNBunnie1's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Next up......an actual hoagie roll that isn't a brick and a soft pretzel! -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Here Watch Ghost Hunters On Sci-fi Channel?
modiddly16 replied to Ridgewalker's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
usually that show makes me laugh because I can't hear anything that they are freaking out about...like it just sounds like a thud that I felt one of them made or something, but I have seen episodes that scare me and make me turn all the lights on...of course I always watch them before I go to bed, smart thinking there!!! I kinda wish I had seen this episode... -
ARCHIVED Cheba Brand Calzone
modiddly16 replied to Mountaineer Josh's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I make calzones with the Chebe pizza mix all the time...honestly if it's cooked right, I don't know how everyone doesn't like it!! I was shocked to see so many negative comments about Chebe (on other threads)...it takes a good trial to see just how much liquid to put in and everything to make it come out great!! -
I recommend Real Chow Baby (not sure exact location, google search??), There's always Chick-fil-a's...Whole Foods has a great hot bar. Check out this website for other places. Open Original Shared Link

ARCHIVED Who's An Expert On Nightshades?
modiddly16 replied to a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Ursa Major got me!! I just found it strange that he joined to discuss nightshades (he taught me, being that I had no idea what they were) but them seemed to only pitch his book when here was a perfect opportunity to prove his expertise...eh..but sometimes I try to be a detective...maybe I should stick to my day job, who knows -
ARCHIVED Who's An Expert On Nightshades?
modiddly16 replied to a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Where's this Michael Fowler person now? He pitched this huge book and topic on this forum about nightshades...and he hasn't commented on this thread when someone needs his expertise. I find it fishy! I do hope everyone feels better soon -
ARCHIVED Dandyblend Coffee Subsitute?
modiddly16 replied to midnightlullaby's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If it says Gluten free and yet has Rye and Barley in it...my assumption is that they think gluten is only wheat and there is no way I'd try it. However, after checking out the website it says "The process by which all the extracts are made uses only water, and gluten is not water soluble, so it stays behind.. What you get is all the nutrition from the... -
I'm allergic to onions but not garlic. Cooked or raw, onions will definitely make me sick..might just be that you're sensitive to them, the cooking experiment is a good idea...however it wasn't for me!! It's crazy how quickly you KNOW when there is onions in something too, my dad and I are onion radars, no one can slip it past us, not that they intentionally...
