ARCHIVED Birth Control
modiddly16 replied to nothing but nicole's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm on brand name Yasmin. I didn't take the generic because they wouldn't confirm that its Gluten free....They assured me it was the same as well, however, Yasmin would confirm gluten free and Ocella wouldn't...so I pay more for the Yasmin -
ARCHIVED Betty Crocker gluten-free Yellow Cake Mix
modiddly16 replied to TrillumHunter's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I knew that they were in with the regular betty crocker mixes but I still can't find them -
ARCHIVED Only Three Days Into Gulten Free And My Urination Habbits Are Different
modiddly16 replied to ladybugjaimes's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I pee ALL the time...its ridiculous. I've been to doctors to see if there is an underlying problem but the only thing they can think of is that it must be connected to celiac disease! -
ARCHIVED Betty Crocker gluten-free Yellow Cake Mix
modiddly16 replied to TrillumHunter's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I used to see these mixes everywhere......now, I can't seem to find ANY. Does anyone know what the deal with that is? -
ARCHIVED Blue Diamond Almond Cheese Thins Crackers
modiddly16 replied to Glamour's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This is old news. People say that there is a CC issue with Blue Diamond rice crackers, however, they're supported by the Celiac Disease Foundation, which if they weren't considered gluten free, they wouldn't have that stamp of approval on it. I know these bother some people...but they've always helped me out when I needed a quick fix! -
um. i wasn't trying to be rude. i obviously didn't know you joined when you were 18.

This confuses me. I understand the difficulties of being deployed while being a celiac...but you joined the military to fight for this country. Wouldn't you have been away that you might deploy when you joined? It makes me sad thinking people who serve in our army don't want to be there. As the daughter of a lifer in the army, I just don't understand it...

ARCHIVED Oatmeal Sensitivity Question
modiddly16 replied to nb-canada's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've tried gluten free oats at least 4 times and regretted it every time........i don't think i'll go for a fifth. unfortunately, you might just have to say goodbye to the oats!! -
ARCHIVED Pa. Snack Makers Snyder's Of Hanover, Utz To Merge
modiddly16 replied to captaincrab55's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I highly doubt they'll drop anything gluten free. There is no plan for Snyder's to discontinue Utz as a brand or change any of their production line. Snyder's is simply growing when Utz was struggling. I have it from good sources that little to nothing will change except with the higher ups of the company. -
ARCHIVED Panera Bread Gluten-free List
modiddly16 replied to luciddream928's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I've always been too scared to eat at Panera Bread, something with the Bread in the title or something? I'm excited to give it a shot!! -
ARCHIVED Mcdonald's Grilled Chicken
modiddly16 replied to jststric's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
McDonald's is a tricky beast......I think most folks choose to stay away from there because of the gluten free items being questionable. I don't know a definite answer about the grilled chicken but I'd stick to Wendy's or Chick-Fil-A or something. -
I love Chipotle.....I haven't had any real issues here, except I mean, its mexicanish food......I know that bothers peoples tummies who aren't gluten free

ARCHIVED Trader Joe's
modiddly16 replied to pdx.lila's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Traders Joe's goes out of their way for folks with celiac disease.......I wish people with gluten issues were more understanding and appreciative of anyone's steps for going gluten free. I'm sensitive as well, very much so, however....sometimes I think we forget that some things just don't agree with your belly that have nothing to do with gluten!! Maybe... -
ARCHIVED Bangor Maine Area?
modiddly16 replied to homemaker's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I can't answer the Bangor question but I don't know of a group that wouldn't let you join them just because you're not officially a Celiac! If you're gluten free (or even if you aren't and just learning for a spouse/family member or friend) you're welcome......it's about educating folks and helping...no judgments from us!! -
ARCHIVED One Week Gluten Free, Now 6yr Old Is Hyper - Normal?
modiddly16 replied to Benshell's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
You should be careful as many gluten free products are loaded with sugar to make up for the taste...however...your daughter is 6. She could just finally be feeling better after being sick for awhile and be acting like a normal hyper 6 year old I'd just wait awhile before you start getting her tested for anything else until her body fully adjusts! -
ARCHIVED It's Decided, I Don't Need A Dx To Go Gluten Free
modiddly16 replied to homemaker's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
if being gluten free without a diagnosis helps you feel better and more healthy, then I say...who needs it!!! I've been diagnosed but back then I didn't know anything about going gluten free...If it were happening today and I tried it on my own, I'd save the Dr's bills and do what made me stop getting sick!! -
Thanks, I don't know when I'll be back in NYC...although I crave Mozerelli's already!! Maybe I will give Babycakes another try.....it was pretty shady in my mind because there were a lot of things going on over there that day, a few fights broke out and a lot of cops were involved, so it just made me feel uncomfortable and the donuts weren't that great, but...

So I just got back from my weekend in NYC, it was the first time since I had been there since I was 13 years old (I'm over half way to 30 now ) and it was my first time since being gluten free. I have to tell you Mozerelli's blew my mind.......they were so accommodating and the food was so delicious. I ate there twice because I liked it so much. They...

ARCHIVED Mccormick Taco Powder
modiddly16 replied to twe0708's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Honestly, McCormick is one of the only taco seasoning brands I trust.....You'd be surprised as to how many have wheat flour in them that can slip by the eye on the first few glances. My wonderful boyfriend made me some turkey tacos with this huge thing of taco seasoning his roommate had in the house, without looking at it....because we've had tacos so many... -
ARCHIVED Whole Food Favorites
modiddly16 replied to MKat's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I understand what the certified part means, my question was......are people who are affected by oats still going to be affected by these. -
ARCHIVED Whole Food Favorites
modiddly16 replied to MKat's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Explain to me these "certified gluten free oats"......are they not still oats? I've had some gluten free oats products and still gotten incredibly sick. Does this mean that I can't have any form of oats, or am I crazy? -
ARCHIVED Mainstream Gluten Free Snacks?
modiddly16 replied to Anya78's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Ocella(generic Yasmin) Gluten Free
modiddly16 replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yasmin is no longer being made, the generic is soon going to be the only available form of that particular pill. -
Five Guys is actually more safe than almost any other fast food restaurant. I've contacted them before and if you watch while they cook.........they have one grill for the burgers, a completely separate grill for the buns and the fries are in a dedicated fryer. They're very helpful and I've eaten there countless times without getting ill. I wish some of...
