  1. I do the white rice thing too...it absorbs all the stuff in your stomach and generally makes me feel better.
  2. oh great. I have some of this in my freezer right now. I thought it said gluten free right on it...I'll have to check it out
  3. This frustrates me a bit. If I had your symptoms or frustrations, I'd do everything in my power to change it so I felt better. I don't understand why people NEED a diagnosis...if changing your lifestyle and your diet helps YOU feel better, why would you care what a Dr. said? (disclaimer: that's spoken in this case only and Dr's are smart intelligent people...
  4. I just said that sometimes it is in Baked version of chips. Wasn't specifically talking about a brand...just something to be aware of!
  5. sometimes you have to be super careful with Baked products because they contain something that causes anal leakage.....seriously, it says it on the bag. So sometimes it might not be a gluten thing, it might just be an ohmygosh I ate too many thing. haha
  6. nope...they taste like you're eating sand with a mixture of dirt and grass
  7. Neither of my parents nor my brother have it, however, on my Dad's side of the family...my grandmother, aunt and cousin (female) all had or have severe stomach issues. My cousin (male)is a doctor and tested them all posted for celiac disease, however, they've chosen to ignore the testing and despite my pleas do not follow a gluten free diet. We're all Irish...
  8. Nope...I believe there was a time several years ago that Cocoa Puffs had changed their formula. I've been well aware for years about the pebbles.
  9. ' You're incorrect here. By law, they absolutely do have to list wheat.
  10. My doctor told me that my reaction isn't a typical result of the pill. A lot of people lose weight on Yaz...however, a lot of people gain it as well. I don't know what the deal is with that but I'm still struggling to get the extra weight off.
  11. I think about 4 years ago Trix and Cocoa Puffs "went" gluten free...however, many people got pretty sick from it and I don't know that it ever held. There were long lists of messages on this board about both products but the chatter has long calmed down. I tested them both out during this time period and felt gross after each so I haven't went back. I...
  12. I've been on Yasmin for about 5 years. The company confirmed that it was gluten free...as they did with Yaz. Yaz, however, caused me to put an obnoxious 10 pounds on that I'm still fighting to get off, so I went back to Yasmin. I never went generic with this because although it would've helped my bank account...the company refused to confirm that it was...
  13. The way I look at it.......if a gluten free diet helps you feel better, do you really need an official diagnosis? It's helpful to know if you have other allergies or anything like that so I understand the testing is necessary but as for the doctor's not making up his mind...if something makes you feel better, to hell with what the doctor says. I suppose...
  14. I think Chili from anywhere gives people stomach problems I had a grilled chicken with tomato, lettuce and honey mustard sauce and I put it on a Against the Grain toasted roll......oh man did that hit the spot. I made my own Ore-Ida fries to go with it which were way better than the ones Wendy's has. To each his own!
  15. SOOO many people are going to jump on me for doing/saying this...but...when I knowingly get glutened, sometimes I take a laxative to work it more quickly out of my system. Mind you, I've been gluten free for almost 7 years so I rarely get glutened but it does happen. I wouldn't recommend you taking a laxative every time you get glutened if it happens once...
  16. I've cooked with non-gluten free items and just washed my hands vigorously afterwards, it was just the easy stuff though...pillsbury biscuits or pizza dough, that kind of stuff. I don't think I'd bring flour into the house.
  17. I'm not knocking PF Changs in any way. I didn't get sick with what I ate, I was just curious if anyone had an issue when they ordered take out with mislabeling or anything. I wanted to avoid getting sick, so I just didn't eat anything. I love PF Changs because I trust them, I just couldn't go back to the restaurant because it wasn't close to me when I got...
  18. after many failed attempts with oats, I too have given up and accepted that I'm intolerant to those...gluten free or not...as well
  19. All Fruity, cocoa and cupcake pebbles are gluten free. Most of the chex are now, just make sure you don't get the wheat. Kix, Honey Kix and Berry Berry Kix are also gluten free.
  20. I went to the PF Changs in Towson, MD this weekend while I was in town visiting some friends and it turned out to be quite a frustrating trip. We got it to go, because I still, even after 6 1/2 years, would rather eat in the comfort of a home or hotel rather then at a restaurant. We ordered the gluten-free lettuce wraps, gluten-free siganpore street noodles...
  21. I think you mean the Dobbin House?
  22. I've read a lot of posts from you saying that you're always feeling sick and you're husband doesn't respect your need for a clean kitchen and that you've constantly struggled with getting glutened. If I were you, which I recognize that I'm not, I'd cut out all of that stuff, including beer, just so I could feel better again. I understand that you just have...
  23. This was a thread from 2007. I believe the Gettysburg group has closed as of this year. The woman who ran it was diagnosed with cancer and no one stepped up to fill in.
  24. I think its great that Wegeman's is offering you that kind of compensation and while it's really unfortunate that your child and yourself have gotten so sick...I think we, as celiacs, have the responsibility to read the labels even if its advertised gluten free. I've been in a lot of stores, including this particular Wegeman's, that have GLUTEN FREE signs...
  25. Yea, I think it might've been cross contamination. It wasn't the same exact drink but it was a limeade...I don't have any other intolerences, so I don't know what it would've been otherwise!
