  1. I have never had a problem with the FFL tortillas, but I got glutened by their bread this week and have decided not to use any of their products now. Just FYI.
  2. Hi, It's always a good idea to learn how to cook. Kill animal, put on stick, make fire, burn off fur. Yum! You are right, the ASCA antibodies can be other things besides Crohn's. The realization that people with Crohn's often have antibodies to bakers yeast is a fairly new thing, last couple years only. Sounds like your doc is keeping up...
  3. Well, I don't actually eat dairy any more. When I was doing lactase that was mostly several years back. A few times I have tried dairy since then I took a pro-biotic called Digestive Advantage by Ganeden Biotech. It has lactase and bacteria in it.
  4. Well a couple things to consider. Have you had your thyroid levels checked? You might be hyper-thyroid. You are eating a lot of fish, and if it is seafood you might be getting too much iodine. You might also be getting too much mercury. The gov reccomends certain types of seafood be eaten no more than twice a week due to mercury levels.
  5. How tall? It wuz big, I mean realrry big! It wuz taller than 2 Jules Shepards on top of each other. Certainly over 12 feet. But not as high as the moon. Kind of in-between. There wuz a 2nd floor balcony behind it in the pic. The wood in the top right side of the pic. How many pounds? Not sure, I heard something about 700 pounds of flour....

  7. Unfortunately I did too, mostly. We had a "Stinkers" thread on the Wetcanvas site a few years ago for people to contribute their masterpieces too. I had some doozies. But now they are all just so much less than that.. Well, if the queen wants ta visit, the queen is welcome ta visit. The prince was just here after all, admiring the local veggies....
  8. Ah hah! I knew it! Karen is friends with the deposed king of Nigeria!
  9. I like eating dead animals, well cooked myself. None of that sushi that people eat though. I have an impact on the world because I am alive. Just like all the animals and plants do. I agree with your point about wasteful, wanton consumption though. I think it is better to be conservative about our resources. We have exterminated quite a few species...
  10. Open Original Shared Link WASHINGTON (May 24) -- Almost half of the 500 most popular sunscreen products may actually increase the speed at which malignant cells develop and spread skin cancer because they contain vitamin A or its derivatives, according to an evaluation of those products released today. Hey Shroomster, I don't know if you have...
  11. Geez Rose, that suks big time! Hey Cass, Looks like the WHO doesn't think people with DH should take potassium iodide. Open Original Shared Link Clinical conditions in which KI tablets are contraindicated There are very few clinical conditions in which the administration of KI is absolutely contraindicated. People with these conditions must...
  12. I am pretty sure those water thingies are what turned the Toxic Avenger. Looks like a chemical factory product list not a food.
  13. Hi Low-e, I am doing ok. I am heading over to the gluten free labeling summit later today to see this gigantic gluten-free cake they are making. No other motive than to support the gluten-free community of course, the huge, massive, multi-ton gluten-free cake is no motivation at all... :-) Hopefully there won't be any salad around. I don't...
  14. Ouch, you did it kind of exactly bass ackwards! The testing should be done first, before going gluten-free. The problem with doing it afterward is the antibodies are decreased to the point they may not show up in the blood tests. And the villi are healing so may not show enough damage in an endoscopy biopsy either. Since you have been gluten-free since...
  15. I voted yes on both for myself. When I went in the Air Force the shot me full of various compounds (they said they were important) that were supposed to fight diseases. Pretty sure they hit all the major known diseases in the line of shot blasters. Ok, a couple thotz on the theories. There is research on a chemical called zonulin that acts in the...
  16. Finally the truth about Osama's demise is revealed... Hey Low-E, Have you read about the Eat to Defeat Cancer diet? You might find it interesting. Open Original Shared Link I totally missed the wedding. Did anybody faint? Muffin won't wear a hat, so we couldn't attend..

    ARCHIVED Music

Oh yeah, Pink Floyd, good stuff! I am hearing these a lot lately: Youtube mix for Procul Harum Wagner Natalie Imbruglia Myst Exile music (playing the game).
  18. Thanks for the info JenR. It sounds to me like the synthetic thyroid meds are not a direct iodine source then. In theory at least. Seems like the Armour might be different since it is organic instead of synthetic, so probably does have some iodine in it, I think. Geez Cass, sounds like you had quite an adjustment to the thyroid meds there. Hyper...
  19. Thanks JenR and CassP, Hmmm. It seems there is plenty of room for learning on this topic. I have read several times on here that people with DH have problems with iodine and avoid it. I gather (from reading) that iodine can cause DH to flare up. It seems like quite a catch 22 if people with DH have to avoid iodine and also are not on thyroid replacement...
  20. Hi John, I have to admit I have been experimenting with dairy a little lately too. Turns out it was a mistake for me too. Usually I eat only Daiya GFCFSF cheese shreds. But I went and got some real cheese last weekend and ate it one day. Not a great idea, I hardly slept for 2 days. Finally got some sleep last night though. That's what dairy does...
  21. Ok, you have been gluten-free for 5 weeks but slipped up 3 times during that 5 weeks? Not surprising at all, it is a real learning experience to go gluten-free. But your bodies' immune system is not changing it's plan of attack to suit your mistakes. As far as it is concerned you have been invaded by germie monsters 3 times and it is going to destroy...
  22. There are so many things about soy that are negative that I can't understand why people eat it at all. It's crazy IMHO. Try some searches on soy rat intestine or soy infant thyroid or soy hormone, or soy infant allergy or soy and end of the world. Or just watch Dr. Mercola's short video.
  23. You have some fun sister there GFM! I had to laugh out loud at this. I can just see it, "No I don't want to go swimming! NO No Nooooo!" Drag- drag.. @ OP Sounds like sis wants you to be happy. She just needs to learn that happy means not being sick. And you getting sick from eating gluten isn't an optional choice you make either.
  24. I haven't seen that at my local HT on Capital Hill in DC. Where did you see them? I'll try them if you will... You first ok?

    ARCHIVED I'm Scared

It is a good idea to take some snacks with you when you are out, travel or not. It is easy to pack along a few LaraBars for instance. Then you can grab an apple of banana or some fruit and have a little gluten-free lunch basically anywhere. Another thing is gluten-free brown rice tortillas. You can get them at Trader Joes or Whole Foods, or you can...
