  1. Could be healing. After I went gluten-free my gut started to have spasms. It didn't seem to be a reaction to anything I ate. I figured it was part of the healing process. They did go away after a while, several months. I do get them if I get cc now or get glutened. But not as intense as when I was first gluten-free 3.5 years ago.
  2. I used to work swing shift years ago, 11 PM to 7 AM. I would sleep a few hours in the morning after my shift and then get up and do stuff during the day. Then sleep a few more hours in the evening before going to work. So sleeping twice a day instead of one long sleep. Worked well for me.
  3. I had leg cramps (calves) for awhile. They stopped when I stopped eating white rice. Actually I don't eat rice at all now unless it is in a those Trader Joe's brown rice tortillas. Hypo-thyroid can cause cramping also.
  4. Yep, it gets better, with some work on your part. Most of us have additional food intolerances beyond gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats), and we have to learn/discover those too. They are not set for each person, they vary. At first you need to concentrate on avoiding all gluten, and eating a whole foods diet. Also, keeping your diet fairly simple...
  5. I gotta agree with Jestgar on that. It took me 3 years to get my diet right for me. Plenty of setbacks along the way too. Somewhere along the line I lost the users manual for my body and had to start learning about it all over from scratch. But it is worth it if you can get to feeling better.
  6. Hi Dee, I wouldn't be worried about trying the Prednisone for a little while. It is supposed to calm down the immune system so it might help. Might be a way to get you kick started on healing a little faster. You did test clean of parasites though right? Prednisone wouldn't be good if there were parasites involved. It can make your face kind of...
  7. Cornstarch ain't no problem so that wood be fine. Thanks Crayon, Sounds lot less scary now. Yep, wasn't a bad day at all!
  8. Nope, no Archie! No Veronica or Jughead either! Shoot, whats wrong with Clark Kent for your daughter? Well, I guess he is already tied up with Lois Lane tho. I want to try some feathers in my encaustics. I figure if I spray them with starch first they will stay the shape I want when I put the wax on them. Just an experiment to see what happens...
  9. Hi Dee, Have you tried not eating the rice? You could eat veggies and meat instead. Fry some onions and okra and mushrooms with some ham or chicken etc. We can have intolerances to any food, and rice is just as likely a problem as any other food. Also check your vitamins and meds for gluten and dairy and soy. You may be conditioned to rely on...
  10. Welcome to the board LC! It's great that you are feeling better. Congratz on your new activities. Feel free to ask questions and hang around the threads. Nice to have you here!
  11. I am not really sure IH, just guessing. I get some digestive upset with their multi-vits. It is not gluten, it's a different reaction. The vitamin A has a bad rep for causing skin cancer, so I don't think it is good to take it internally. But that may not be what bothers me in them. They are like most multi-vits IMHO, too many ingredients to isolate...
  12. Well, I started out by cooking some okra and mushrooms and garlic and chicken for breakfast. Got a bit glutened on Monday and the okra seems to help soothe things. Then I went to the pizza shop up the block and bought two 2 liter bottles of Pepsi to kick my motor into gear. Have been having my usual sleep pattern issues and needed a little pickup....
  13. I've had problems with vitamins. Especially the multi-vitamins. I have tried various brands that are supposed to be GFCFSF but none has ever worked for me. I have some of the Pioneer multi-vit too, but don't take them anymore. What I do take is calcium, D and zinc pills. And a B-12 pill sometimes, or a B-complex. I don't take any vitamin pills every...
  14. Hey Zack, I am sorry to hear you aren't feeling better. Have you had an endoscopy to check for villi damage? An endoscopy and a colonoscopy might eliminate some possibilities at least. For the endoscopy they should take several biopsy samples from different areas to check for villi damage. It might be a good idea to have them check for parasites...
  15. Some digestive enzymes might help with the digestion. Or some Betaine HCL a half hour before eating it.
  16. It will probably be a couple weeks before you start to feel much better. The body doesn't stop cranking out anti-bodies on a dime when the gluten is removed. Some pro-biotics and a simple diet with no or little sugar would be a good idea.
  17. Here is an interview with Jule Shepard about the event: Open Original Shared Link Karen, you got one smart kid there!
  18. Ugh, gluten, so unpleasant sounding. Get yourself right with a whole foods diet and no processed foods for a while. We are waiting for you on the other side of the bright light.

  22. You'll regret it. Evil laugh (EL) here....., repeated here......, drawn out EL here............, continuing.............., ok, trailing off............................... Sorry, I Ben playing Zork Nemesis two much lately...
  23. I knew I was forgetting something Syl. It sounds to me like your friend has you following the ketagenic diet. It can use a lot of coconut oil. The thing is, some people have a pretty intense D reaction to coconut. So, maybe you could do some other oil for a change and see if it changes anything. We are all still learning how to eat right.. The ketagenic...
  24. Hi, Do you have a link to the program we could get? It sounds very interesting and would be great to see it. Thanks!
  25. I think I saw some little gurlz selling that on the sidewalk last week. Silly gurlz...
