    Domino's Pizza which they are calling "gluten free," is not really gluten free because only the crust is, the toppings will be cross contaminated from the other's Domino's ingredients, and the work space and utensils used on them. That is all you need to know.

    Some of your "medical field" family members may darn well know that a celiac has a much higher probability of having celiac or gluten intolerant relatives, and they may be doing the ostrich thing as a defensive mechanism, because of their love of cupcakes or beer or whatever - and a few matching symptoms.

    It takes most people years to develop enough damage that it shows up in different body systems. Eggs could be a sign of your gall bladder/liver is very upset with you, because they are full of fat. Off of gluten, eating fat (like gluten free versions of muffins, doughnuts, etc) can be easier because the gall bladder and liver are working better.

    Don't bother going through "The Ritual" with this doctor, if she is already pushing the IBS diagnosis. Find one who is versed (knowledgable) in celiac and gluten intolerance without the specific celiac diagnosis, or will at least humor you. My current primary care physician falls into this category, because I had such a bad experience with other doctors...
