  1. Emotional issues can be caused by the malnutrition of silent celiac or gluten intolerant damage. I mean really, what do they think "cause" emotions, The Sleepytime Fairy sprinkling pixie dust on the pillows every night which means you wake up fogged out, over wrought, and swinging back and forth ? What is a vitamin, mommy ? How does that missing effect...
  2. ___________________ Ah, I see you are approaching the motivational phase. We tend to, in the beginning, have other food intolerances that are secondary to the celiac/ gluten intolerance. These may or may not be permanent. You will have to change your diet around some more to find them. You will also have to take cross contamination seriously...
  3. __________ Now that is a list. You might want to list that in your sig line. So the egg whites would be okay ? You could use 2 or 3 egg whites for each egg. How are you with coconut ? coconut milk from a can, organic, with guar gum ? coconut oil ? that Tofutti vegan cream cheese, which is soy based ? hemp milk, gluten free ...
  4. Gluten Free Diet = Easy Listening to Glutenoids who must live off of drive thru fast food and mistake it for "nourishment" =
  5. _________ Doesn't matter. The answer is still to avoid consuming the offensive food, protein, or substance. Read here: Gluten sensitive idiopathic neuropathies Open Original Shared Link Somebody needs to remind the so called "controversy" discussion folk that the gluten intolerant people "subset" folk are not the problem, they exist...
  6. I can guarantee you'd get glutened doing that. The deep fryer will be contaminated with the breading wheat and it will permeate the chicken. The vegetables will probably, likely be contaminated, too, because of lurking gravy. Buffets are really risky, because they are using plastic containers a lot, and the serving spoons have been everywhere...
  7. I don't have the formal diagnosis, either, but my current PCP believes me inspite of the negative blood panel, because I told him that I had not eaten gluten in years, and hell would freeze over before I would do it again. That and it provided a handy reason for having the brain lesions, aka the bright spots. Also, I had all these other related diseases...
  8. It goes away. But if you get glutened, it might flare up again. Aka, a motivational symptom.

    ARCHIVED Oh Boy...

There is no such thing as a dumb question. Only dumb answers.
  10. Don't forget to check your shampoos and hair conditioners as well. The long hair forum has some good ideas on natural hair care products, even if you don't have long hair. I used a water and apple cider vinegar finish on my hair to condition it, then a tiny dab of coconut oil or shea butter rubbed on my hands and then into my hair. I have also washed...
  11. Use a backpack if you want to keep your hands free. I will have a small fanny pack with me for the stuff that I intend to keep with me at all times, that can fit into the backpack if I have to be walking around and if there is a "one bag" limit on what I am supposed to be carrying. And you should get a hotel room refrigerator, tell them it's for medical...
  12. If you keep on doing the same thing over and over again, you won't get a different result..... I'm assuming you used a recipe like this one: Open Original Shared Link Which is a rice/potato starch/tapioca blend of flours using a combination of egg, egg white, and "egg replacer" and a little bit of vinegar to provide lift leavening besides...
  13. Hi, I'm gluten intolerant. I self diagnosed after extensive research, based on symptoms and because of my dramatic response to a trial diet, because my last neurologist had no idea what it means when you have bright spots in your brain. I notice a lot of the medical people frown on this sort of thing, all I can say is, they need to clean up their...
  14. It is very, very unlikely that these are gluten free. When in doubt, don't eat it. I have searched Reber's useless website and cannot find any nutritional information on it other than they're kosher. I have also searched other websites which sell these, and found a few other varieties listed, such as a milk chocolate product without the nuts...
  15. Hi, Don't know about the Mexican version, but the Best Foods Mayonnaise up here in the States is safe. Noticed that they even started labeling it 'gluten free' in the tiny print, maybe after they noticed a lot of us were eating it and putting it on the "seems safe" lists. It does have soy oil here, so you may also be having a cross reaction as some...
  16. Regarding my friend - she can eat bread products, etc with no problem and drink beer with no problem as long as she doesn't eat whole wheat. She gets SO sick from that. So what would the actually allergy/intolerance be to then? Thanks everyone!
  17. ___________ Altho this post was from January, I'm going to answer it here because some people check the last page first Low levels of vitamin B12 are a classic symptom of celiac or gluten intolerance. At that point your doctor should have been testing you for the cause of it, instead of merely giving you the vitamin, and making you wait for months...
  18. ____________ I wonder what is going to get me first, lung cancer from my little wet swipe of mineral eyeliner I apply with a brush and water, or brain cancer from using a cell phone ? It's Always Something.
  19. ___________ People should be cautious with the Food Should Taste Good chips. They taste good, but I had a ferocious reaction to them, and then from another thread here discovered that they use OAT FIBER in at least some of the flavors. I did not know what else could have set me off, as I already eat the other separate ingredients that were on the...
  20. _________ Have her lay down a paper towel or two, that you've folded up and put in her lunchbox. Then it can be disposed of afterwards. Otherwise you're dragging table detritus back into your lunch kit.
  21. I use almond meal for pancakes and quick breads, sometimes mixed with sorghum and amaranth. They typically come out darker than a white wheat flour pancake, a deep golden brown color, but not burnt looking. Almond meal cooks differently than wheat flour, it is more prone to burning at higher temperatures and needs to be cooked a bit more slowly, and...
  22. What are you eating for breakfast ? What are you drinking ? What did you eat for dinner the night before, typically ?
  23. Just wanted to say hello, and here is a website that you and your relatives might enjoy- the blogger has an extensive archive of gluten free kosher recipes Open Original Shared Link
  24. I just avoid lactose and still eat cheese and sometimes yogurt, and sometimes ice cream. I avoided all dairy for awhile when I first changed my diet, then tried re introducing cheese slowly when I noticed that cheese cheating as a garnish didn't bother me. I do much better on organic cheese with no growth hormone junk. I'm part northern European so...
  25. That was really bad. She said cheese was "carby."
