  1. Forgot to mention, if your daughter likes Kraft Dinner, the noodles are out of the question but the cheese packet is gluten-free, so just substitute the pasta noodle for a gluten-free one, and use the cheese packet from the regular package. Also, at A&P in the frozen section, Pinty's BBQ wings are gluten free. If you like Mexican, Old El Paso Taco...
  2. Hi! Welcome to the board! In Canada, depending on where you are, there are tons of gluten free options for us. I live in Bowmanville, Ontario. Not a big city, but still, lots of gluten-free options here! I tend to shop at either Great Canadian Superstore or Loblaws Superstores as they usually have a vast array of gluten-free products, sometimes even...
  3. LMAO! You need to be around here more during a full moon to know what goes on! Especially a blue moon!!!! Thanks for letting me know about it - I will get my straightjacket ready for it......
  4. As long as it's not Jerry and a blow up doll!!!!
  5. Well, if it were me, if she calls, writes, whatever, be pleasant, but nothing more.... People like that are not who I try to surround myself with - materialistic people tend to be rather shallow.....
  6. Geoff, That is awesome! It does my heart good to hear success stories like this! Now if we can just wake the rest of the world up, eh?

    ARCHIVED Cnn

I send a rather detailed e-mail to Dr. Sanjay Gupta about 1 month ago. He had a segment about a study where white brain matter and it's causes and effects. I attached a few articles about celiac disease and the unidentified white matter that quite often shows up in our brains. Hopefully, he will sit down and have a nice chat with Heidi Collins and decide...
  8. Sending lots of hugs your way....... My nanny is 95 yrs old (we were just visiting her yesterday). I think both poems are nice, but I also think the first one captures the feeling better...... Hugs. Karen
  9. Were they pure peanuts in the shells? Were they packaged/processed? Some peanuts have flavouring/coating on them that may contain gluten. Other than that, it sounds exactly like when my mom has bouts of diverticulitis. That's the kind of pain she experiences. There is a link between diverticulitis and celiac...... Hope you are feeling better soon...
  10. Now why are you making me choke on my morning tea!!!!!
  11. Next to the Leafs, my next team I would want to win would be the Red Wings......
  12. **Shudders********* As much as you love your Senators, I probably hate them to the same degree...... Leave me in a room alone with Alfredsson for 10 minutes...... just 10 minutes, that all I ask...... LEAF NATION!!!
  13. Look at it this way: You do have Celiac. It may not be to the point that it is registering on the tests yet, but you still have it. That's the way I would look at it.....
  14. Not really. Creative thinking, surprising, planning surprises, opening up the wallet, those were never Terry's strong suits.......
  15. Thanks Guys! It was "uneventful" Oh well, at least Terry is consistent..... Karen
  16. Collagenous colitis sure fits the diarrhea bill! Open Original Shared Link Trust me, I am the expert at watery diarrhea!
  17. marciab, You need to PM "tiredofdoctors!!!" a.k.a. Lynne. She is an expert in this field...... Hugs. Karen
  18. Have they biopsied for collagenous colitis? It can only be seen by a pathologist through a microscope (hence the other term for it - microscopic colitis). Karen
  19. I so agree Steve! My best friends in the whole world are people I have met on here! Karen
  20. I don't have an answer for you other than the fact that whenever I have any misgivings about food and the safety of eating it, I always err on the side of caution and don't consume it. My philosophy is that it is better to be safe than sorry..... (I just always envision two adults and four children getting food poisoning all at once and what hell that would...
  21. At the Walmart I got it at, it was in the aisle kind of in between the toilet cleaners and air fresheners...
  22. That's wonderful news! You will soon notice some wonderful, positive changes in your child now! She is on the road to health! Hugs and welcome! Karen
  23. I find that when you use the words "toxic" or "poison", it gets the point across better. After all, to celiacs, that's exactly what gluten is. Would you knowingly ingest rat poison or any other toxic substance? Nope. Karen
  24. Yep, that would be me! I have been totally, 100% gluten-free for over 3 years now, and my bloodwork has come down from way over 100 to the last result of 13 (within normal range), but the last biopsy last August showed complete villous atrophy still. There has been no repair in any way, and have been told there never will be. Also, last year they also...
  25. That's awesome!!!!!! Karen
