  1. Old posts talked about this, you are right...read labels and be safe! I bought McCormick seasoning mixes b/c I heard it was a safe company. I checked the chili mix WHEN I got home and it listed wheat, but not the other seasoning I bought. Goes to show me not to assume anything.
  2. Do you have (or your gluten-free flour) xanthan gum? I want to make this one sometime: Open Original Shared Link Karina makes everything look so amazing (her recipes are just as yummy)
  3. Update: They are just as yummy and soft and fudgy today (gluten-free version). I don't think they will be going into the freezer to save for the next time I see my dd and I am thankful my dh doesn't like to try gluten-free food...ALL MINE!!! SOOO much better than any gluten brownie mix you can usually buy for a buck on sale!
  4. Years ago I cracked a tooth biting down on hard dried fruit that was in cereal. I wrote a letter to General Mills and they paid for the crown I had to get w/o me even asking them to. I think its a good idea to let them know. They will probably send you coupons for free product.
  5. I saw the gluten recipe being made on T.V. and then I found a similar one on the web. I made the gluten version today from the 2 recipes. They were so yummy I had to try a gluten-free version for my dd and it is just as yummy. Here is the "gluten-free version". Enjoy! Low Fat Fudgy Brownies dry ingredients, whisk and set aside: 3/4 cup gluten-free...
  6. This recipe is absolutely simple, fast and amazing: Open Original Shared Link and here: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=63271 I just tried it again today. I HAVE NOT made a large pizza YET, but it works great for: mini pizzas, muffins, mini muffins, bread sticks, appetizers...fun to play with...no starches. I add 1 1/2 tsp...
  7. Google rolled sugar cookies and look for the recipe posted by Patti/jerseyangel
  8. The picture looks fantastic! Have you made these or made any changes? What flours and variations did you try? Are they still good the next day? Thanks! Open Original Shared Link I just saw the recipe elsewhere using only 1/8 cup of sugar. Mine are in the process of being made. Also do they freeze well? Results: My yeast wouldn't...
  9. Before my dd went gluten-free, she bloated for several hours, then after gluten-free she bloated on occasion...but we noticed it after she had dairy. She never mentions it anymore.
  10. You could google jello cake or jello poke cake...some recipes would be easy to divide in 1/2, using the gluten-free cake mix. Lots of them using strawberry jello and fresh strawberries (if you can find them). Another thought is to frost your cake, top and sides with a thick layer of ice cream. If desired spread ice cream topping between the cake and the...
  11. Thanks for clearing that up...I googled dump cake and it looks like a double layer gets 2 cans of filling and a single (gluten-free) gets 1 can. There are lots of recipes and easy to convert to gluten-free! I want to try chocolate...my fave!
  12. That was a fast reply...sounds great and EASY (and healthier than the one I posted)! For clarification, is the recipe for a 1 or 2 layer cake mix? Thanks!
  13. Simple, thanks alot!
  14. I have never made one but how about a dump cake (I think that is what you call it)??? Maybe someone has a recipe. I have seen it on here before. (This is not an "add-in" but an "add-on") How about this cake I used to make: Refrigerator Cake 1 yellow cake mix (for a 2 layer size cake) 1 15 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice...
  15. I bought Pam's cookies only once for a pie crust, worked great. But premade are expensive. Here is my favorite choc. chip cookie recipe: Open Original Shared Link The only thing I do differently is to use sorghum mix instead of the rice flour mix. IMO, these taste the closest to gluten cookies. And I stopped using parchment paper. P.C.T. but M&...
  16. I saw a recipe that had frozen/canned/fresh apricots. One recipe w/o banana. Another used frozen pineapple, yogurt and orange juice. Several used brown sugar. Another used ice cream. How about apples or peaches? I bought some big cans of pumpkin, so when I get a can opened I can experiment and freeze the rest in baggies so its ready to twirl. They all...
  17. I just found this one. I thought I'd add it b/c it had lots of good comments. Open Original Shared Link
  18. Nicole, my 18 yr old dd went gluten-free in the last few months. Her head kept itching. Her shampoo had wheat in it and so did the new bottle she bought. Then she glutened herself with a tortilla and her face broke out along the hairline and her back too. Be sure to check everything for wheat. I hope yours clears up soon. I know its hard at your age.
  19. No alcohol for us, thanks anyway.
  20. Very interesting...my dd loves cashews and has been drinking chai tea lately. I might try your concoction on the next batch. I don't have the chai tea concentrate. Sounds like she might like it, she's 18. Thanks!
  21. Yours sounds like the one I was looking at except yours has vanilla and the others didn't. I will try it...Thanks! Some recipes have orange juice in it.
  22. Our co-op has it for about 50 cents cheaper than Walmart. I use it often b/c I love to bake for my girls even though they moved out It only takes a little except for 1 recipe I saw took 1 T. I thought that was a lot.
  23. I was looking at all the yummy recipes out there. I want to make a dairy free pumpkin smoothie for my dd on Thanksgiving. What ingredients do you put in yours? Thanks bunches!
  24. Darn210...darn-it! I was hoping you'd give up the mixer...TO MEEEE!
  25. IMO, I don't have either one so if I was to buy one...I would choose the KA mixer. Why? You can do more things with it and still make bread too.
