  1. Hi, Does anyone have a recipe for ice cream or pudding made with coconut milk? Not chocolate or banana please. I was thinking of strawberry. I want to make my DH a valentine treat. Thanks in advance!
  2. This waffle recipe is wonderful. Adjust it to your needs. I use less milk. Freeze waffles between layers of waxed paper, then in a bag. Reheat in the toaster. Tip-keep an unpeeled banana in the freezer, thaw in warm water. Open Original Shared Link
  3. This one is great: Open Original Shared Link
  4. I just posted one by Carol Fenster. Its under the topic: "2 recipes and a question"
  5. I just made gingersnaps for Thanksgiving. I doubled the recipe, used some for a pie crust and made cut out bears to mail to my dd. Then I froze the rest for another pie. This recipe is from "Cooking Free" by Carol Fenster. Gingersnaps 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine 3 tablespoons molasses or sorghum syrup 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar...
  6. Does anyone have a "tried" recipe for Candy Cane Cookies? The kind where you divide the dough in 1/2 and add red food coloring to one dough ball. Then you make a rope from each ball and twist into a candy cane shape. Thanks!
  7. This single layer cake is great. Just make a double batch if desired and put it into 2 cake pans. Open Original Shared Link One Bowl Chocolate Cake
  8. Yup, same as Roda. I like a mix of sorghum, cornstarch and tapioca flour for cookies and muffins. Yum, I love chocolate cookies
  9. Just today, for my first time, I canned 9 pints of sliced peaches. The tomatoes are still not red..............
  10. I made it for my DD with mashed potatoes
  11. The day before: Bake the cake and put it into a plastic freezer container. Freeze. When ready to decorate: Pour ice cream topping over cake and sprinkle on gluten-free cookie crumbs if desired. Soften the ice cream a little and slice it. Place slices onto frozen cake smoothing over cracks. If your container is larger than the cake, you can place ice...
  12. Here is one quote from Carol on that site: Don't trust the Presto manual for canning instructions. Those manuals are not updated to reflect current processing times and standards.
  13. My DD gets the credit for finding me a pic with purple in it. They are the original Tollhouse cookies in the pic. Here is a great recipe though: Open Original Shared Link I use sorghum, cornstarch and tapioca flours and add nuts sometimes. (if you very careful place the chips/nuts on top of each cookie yours may look like the pic) (lol)
  14. According to the experts on garden web forums, the booklet that comes with the canner is not updated. And yes the gauges can be off by 4lbs and needs to be tested every canning season. Here is canning link: Open Original Shared Link
  15. Try this recipe: Open Original Shared Link I haven't made these for a very long time. I think I used 10 eggs, green onions, ham bits, cheese...and a metal pan. You can cut up/cook the meats/onions ahead of time and store in the freezer until ready to make the eggs. (mine were not as pretty as hers)
  16. Oh my that looks delish!! Thanks for the recipe. I have a recipe for shortbread cookies from the cornstarch box...think I will make both soon!
  17. Yay! I finally got to can something. Yesterday 7 pints of pickled beets and today 6 pints of plain beets!

Me too! I started purple kholrabi indoors last spring, they transplanted well. I think they are so pretty...since purple is my favorite color I don't know of any recipes, I was just going to eat/use it raw. I only tasted it once before, raw. My compost is growing crazy too. I have several potatoes, 3 tomato (cherry) and lots and lots of cantaloupe. Great...

My garden is finally looking like a garden. We have had lots of lettuce. I picked and ate my first 2 sugar snap peas today...yum! Corn is slow, needs some nitrogen. I am learning about fertilizer this yr. I ate a new potato too. I found my first potato beetles, only 2 so far. Never had them last yr but now I know what to look for. Zukes and pumpkins are...
