  2. has she changed her diet in other ways??? ie: when i first went on atkins years ago- i totally added way too much dairy in to my eating. and this last july when i totally went 100% gluten free- for about a month i ate way too many gluten free TREATS... little bloated and put on weight. ??

    ARCHIVED Scheduled Endoscopy

its not so hard really... it gets easier for sure... what PISSES me off is that it's not enough, that i (in my case) have to limit my dairy, limit my corn, limit my gluten-free treats, limit my grains... and now im in discomfort & will have "D" tomorrow morning because i overdid my fructose tonight sorry tmi... sometimes i feel quite superior ...
  5. ps- PLUSSSSS our test result numbers dont always equal our symptoms... false negatives are common... and then you have the majority of celiacs with NO symptoms and HIGH numbers. ive suffered gut issues most of my life... in fact i canceled my movie plans tonight cause i overdid the fructose with my tomato sauce and my ttg was a "7". then you have my...
  6. -so, were u able to see the ingredients for the chai??? i havent looked at them, but i used to work at barnies- and im sure the chai powder has a lot of crap in it- it could have wheat or barley, or maybe just corn byproducts???? i, personally, if i pass a certain limit on coffee or tea- i will get IMMEDIATE "D".. both coffee & tea can irritate the...

    ARCHIVED Scheduled Endoscopy

crampy girl: i was very gluten lite for about 8 years before my 2 week challenge & tests... so im not surprised mine were so inconclusive. even if you were "nonceliac gluten intolerant"- you should know that it still warrants 100% compliance... it's still poison.. antigliadin antibodies have been linked to heart disease.. and gluten has been linked...
  8. i follow them on twitter. i sometimes watch the videos... i think there's some helpful info on there, but also- it can be a bit alarming for me.. so sometimes i dont watch their stuff. i also really like Sayer Ji (he started www.GreenMedInfo.com ) i think ive seen him on gluten free society. i also like the stuff that Veterinarian puts out (the one who...

    ARCHIVED Scheduled Endoscopy

i would imagine real squishy bread would be pure gluten... or pizza hut PAN pizza YUMMMMM good luck with that, gluten challenges can be very uncomfortable... i only did a 2 week challenge, and insurance would only help with one procedure, i did the colonoscopy just to make sure there was nothing SERIOUS.. glad i did, it was a relief. plus a ...
  11. i wouldnt freak out- yes, genetics are passed down- but not everything... and on top of that- our genes are only 1 piece of the puzzle- then you have diet, and environment, diet & environmental triggers, viruses, bacteria, stress, emotional state, exercise.... you can lead a completely happy healthy life. it is good for us to know our genes and then...
  12. that's really interesting.. how come it's not standard practice over here to screen for such things?? oh, because the drug companies would lose money if we were all healthier and how come we never hear of this Igm? it wasnt till the past 2 years i even knew what Iga & Igg were... and my docs only tested my Iga which was low. how come they didnt...
  13. if you think it could be DH, i would suggest you go to a Derm you think is knowledgeable as soon as you can- have them take a biopsy NEXT to the lesion, not on the blister itself- and if that comes back positive- you dont have to do an endoscopy with biopsies. if you really have DH- then that means you have Celiac. after getting a positive on that- im not...
  14. jason- can they tell when they test your blood if your T3 is active & normal or if it's "reverse"/inactive T3????? please explain this to me like im a 2 yr old... i would like to understand this and be able to have better communication with my doc in december. im so confused- because im on synthroid now.. tested as Hypo. but i was confused as to why...
  15. oh, im no saint... have not been able to avoid all my intolerances... im still eating dairy.. and still indulge in frozen creamy coffee drinks- even tho they have an OBVIOUS NEGATIVE EFFECT on my intestines it was much easier to give up my high fructose foods- because the fructose put me in UNBEARABLE pain- and it's much easier to give up i worry...
  16. YES! SWEET POTATOES! YUMMMM rice or mashed potatoes... what about some kind of Gluten Free version of a greenbean casserole ?? YUMMM
  17. there's A LOT of info out there suggesting that Corn & Dairy make it more difficult for someone with villi damage to heal. a lot on here cannot tolerate soy. many of us feel MUCH MUCH better on very little grains. i, personally try to stick to a real healthy paleo type diet. i try to keep my sugar & grains to a MINIMUM. of course i indulge...
  18. constipation was my main symptom too. sometimes i would have constipated "D"... or constipated "fatty/malabsorption" movements... but mainly the world's worst "C". i only got the "classic D urges" in the middle of the day if i had milk.. which im guessing was the lactose intolerance (acquired after gluten damage). good luck with all the testing!!
  19. are you 100% gluten free? or only wheat free? years ago, i was lucky enough when going on atkins for my HORRIFIC excema to go away. i continued to eat small amounts of gluten in soy sauce or whatever. i would have wheat maybe once a month, would get itchy, but no excema. but that was just my body at the time. our immunological reactions change. im on my...
  20. wow, im not sure if the mangos are acidic??? but if you can handle apples- then, you should switch to pears- they help even more
  21. im 38 years old, and even tho ive experienced every gut symptom, and excema & hives, & psorasis & dandruff, and depression/anxiety.. hypothyroid.. etc etc... i just now got my FIRST episode of DH- after 38 years. i tried to do the Iodine patch test- but i could only leave the iodine bandaid on for an hour- the burning was unbearable- i even burned...
  22. sounds YUMMMMMM
  23. i agree! it's bs if you want to figure out if you have a gluten intolerance- you need to ask a doctor to test you- and you need to be eating gluten regularly (like 4 pieces of bread a day for 6-8 weeks at least) if you want an accurate test.
  24. ya, DH is not "rare".. i think it's around 20% of Celiacs will get this. i didnt get it till 3 months ago! it is only now starting to fade you should most definitely be testing all your children if you have it... just figure out what you need to have them do as far as gluten challenges so the tests can be accurate.
  25. have you seen these yet??? (only the top row in purple with gluten free label): Open Original Shared Link
