  1. Some are close or more when you add the shipping but they are always in stock. Chebe, when you buy in bulk, is cheaper and no shipping.
  2. My current (which implies it changes depending on the weather and my mood--right now, it is a break kick) is: Chebe Focaccia Bread mix with rosmary, olive oil, tomatoes, and coarse sea salt added to the top and Chebe all mix (dairy free) with sun dried tomatoes mixed in and olive oil and coarse sea salt on top
  3. OK, I know this is a down on servers post because, hey, they can be very ignorant, and I have had a few... Anyway, I went to a place that I haven't been back to in about a year because I always get a little sick, just some gas, not bad but it was the only place without a bar that one of our co-workers will go to that I can eat at so I went. I was going...
  4. My family and friends vary too. My immediate family, meaning hubby and kids, are totally supportive!!! Could not be better, couldn't ask for more. My parents, somewhere in between - one supports but doesn't understand the other thinks I go way overboard and am a little bit of a cleaning nut (because I keep the counters REALLY clean since I am the only...
  5. I used to do the whole, starting all the seeds inside but after kids and pets, I gave up - kudos to you!!! I just didn't keep up enough. My dad, who didn't garden any more but loved gardening and seed buying, would go through all the catalogs and buy seeds and have them mailed to me every year. It was always a surprise what I would get. Now, he takes my...
  6. I react to all fruit too but for me, that is a yeast intolerance. My sister has to avoid nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplant). I also cannot have any processed meats and ONLY meats low in fat. I know there are some on this board that can only have natural meats - meaning no hormones, etc and cost is much higher. My system does not handle...
  7. I went camping to the "quiet side of the smokies" but went into Gatlinburg one day and we ate at the Texas Roadhouse and I didn't have any problems. The rest of the time, we ate our own food. I know a lot of others have been there without problems though...I am sure they will respond soon.
  8. I carry a small roll of tape with me for just that reason - I used to lick a finger, lick another finger, etc. until it sealed then run home and wash my hands. Either way, I now use tape.
  9. Carrots can take a week to 10 days to germinate. My lettuce seemed to sprout in about a week. I only buy tomato plants now because I don't want to start them indoors any more since I live in the northern half of the country, in zone 5. If you live in a colder climate (aren't you in the UK?), you may want to go buy some tomato plants (same goes for bell...
  10. I always run a fever when I have anything with yeast - I went years with fever problems before I figured it out. I say it is a possiblity but he could also be sick - who knows sometimes!
  11. I make my own with diced tomatoes and lemon base.
  12. OK - I figured out the nitrates because it would make me have to potty more than 3 times in less than 90 minutes. My oldest son had problems with nitrates while I was breast feeding (he is now 15) and still cannot tolerate them (or cinnamon) so that was a clue. He would cry horribly every time I ate anything with nitrates. He tried for a while to eat stuff...
  13. Save the hair and put it around your garden - it is supposed to help keep deer away, if you have that problem. My lettuce and peas are up and looking well - my carrots are just now sprouting. We are planing on planting my pots for flowers on the deck next weekend, if it isn't too cold. We also need to find a sunny spot for our grasses...they didn...
  14. I forgot - I can't remember where I heard this, maybe here, but - wax paper can have a light dusting of corn starch. I had, had to stop using the wax paper because every time I used it to make something, I got sick and didn't know why. Once I stopped, I was OK with those foods again. Then I heard about the corn part and it all makes sense now.
  15. My eyes often feel gritty and dry. I use an OTC eye drop about 1-3 times per day and it helps. Of course, it could be my allergy meds or my allergy eye drops too but for now, I think it is more linked to the rosacea. I use Eucerin or Oil of Olay depending on what SPF I want - one has 15, the other has 30.
  16. Jen, I have had 3 surgeries on my left wrist (carpal tunnel and two for tendon problems), one on my right wrist for carpal tunnel, and one on my left elbow for ulnar nerve. I am waiting until my right elbow gets really bad before I go back for that and the doc said I don't need surgery yet for my left shoulder. My family usually has arm and back problems...
  17. I agree - heat and sun seem to make mine worse too...the doc actually laughed when I told him I try to keep covered up, wear sunscreen, etc - on our boat. Well, mine only gets better during the hottest months and when we are out all the time but this time of year it seems to act up the worst. Not sure how to work that one out. Mine started originally...
  18. I found if I limit my corn (none) to JUST what is added to a few of the meds, I am OK as long as I don't overdo it and I keep those to a minimum. I think Tylenol has some corn starch but not really enough to bother me, most of my meds and vitamins are all corn free but check them all. Almost anything canned, boxed, etc. has corn. Most gum has corn. It...
  19. My hubby wants to take and RV trip - and until the other day, I didn't think much about it THEN, I realized that an RV only has ONE BATHROOM!!! Every morning, our three bathrooms are in use, usually at the same time! I am not sure we could survive on one bathroom - even for a few days. We would never leave the RV because it would be a constant line waiting...
  20. You can see my list of intolerances below - I agree with whitball - corn is in EVERYTHING and soy is a close second. Those are the hardest to avoid--corn is even used in a lot of foods at the healthfood store too so you really have to watch. You deal by learning what you can eat then expanding from there - you would be amazed at how much you can do with...
  21. I use a store brand for my mega complete vitamin B complex and the label says no to all the bad stuff I can't eat and I don't seem to have a problem. Now, I do get those spasms - usually when I have used a pot that was used for gluten--only thing we still shared. I now have a gluten-free pot along with my other gluten-free pans and dishes. It hits in the...
  22. Ditto - only pure but mine is because of a corn issue.
  23. I have had rosacea for about 6-7 years on my face - mild, not really bad enough to worry about, just cover it up which I know is wrong. The only time I don't have it is in July and August. I do have some veining but it really isn't too bad and a nice tan will cover that. However, I went in to my allergist yesterday for this rash on my chest, neck, and...
  24. My mother and sister both have tummy problems and refuse to think it might be diet related other than lactose. My sister is getting ready to have her gall bladder removed - without trying an elimiation diet. My mom will spend weeks in the bathroom - litterally. I told my mom about my symptoms, what triggers them, etc. and she told me my grandmother, her...

    ARCHIVED A Useful Specialist?!

Glad you found an allergist you like and seems knowledegable. My allergist used to try to tell me to keep the cats out of the bedroom, filters, sheet stuff, close the windows - I told him I wasn't doing any of that, the windows stay open (unless my son is having problems - then we do close them but not for me), we aren't staying inside, etc. He works...
