  1. Since you feel obligated to go, take your own meal in a cooler and leave it in there until it is time to heat it up. I wouldn't leave it out of your sight (or in your car) until it's time, so nobody messes with it. I'm so glad we are staying home. This will be my third gluten free Thanksgiving (first one was a learning curve). We are never able to travel...
  2. I know it sucks, but it's not the bakery's fault. I don't tolerate certified gluten free oats either.
  3. As of Jan. 1st adult children can be on their parent's insurance if they don't otherwise have it offered through their job I think up to age 26. Someone else might know more. However, that doesn't help your pain right now...
  4. If I was that pharmacist I would have been a little embarrassed since he obviously didn't know what he was talking about. I may look at one of the local mom and pop pharmacies in town. I know one of the reps there and they are one of the only pharmacies in town that still will do compounding. I'll look into it. I had similar problems at Wallgreens and...
  5. I found this site. Pretty cool. I figure I can always make my own mixes too. Open Original Shared Link
  6. He helps me alot in the kitchen now. He pours and mixes. I just thought it would be a fun toy for him and he could do everything by himself.
  7. My 5 year old loves to bake with me but cant handle the big pans. I was thinking about getting him an easy bake oven for Christmas. Has anyone used it with gluten free mixes and if so how were your results?
  8. I should know better than to go to the pharmacy on a weekend but it was the first chance I had to go pick up the rx. I asked to see what the inactive ingredients were. I was told there wasn't anything to see by the clerk. I quickly reminded her that it should be listed on the package insert. After much to do the pharmacist tells me they don't list them...
  9. All the labs around here won't or don't do the EMA test. I don't know why or understand. I had an order for my oldest for the EMA along with the other tests and the lab wouldn't do it. I can inquire about the deaminated gliadin and EMA on Mon (and possibly get it drawn) however I started him gluten free today and Dad is being supportive. I wonder if...
  10. Well a little weird development. I've been taking the creon since the end of Aug. with pretty goods results. It kept me from having D and there was no noticible fat. Well We went to my inlaws last weekend. I took and prepared my own food so I know it was safe. Friday before we got there I felt a little bloated like I needed to use the restoom but couldn...
  11. Man I hate it when I sit and have to much time to think. I just hope I am making the right decision to go gluten free without the biopsy. I wanted it for myself, but it's weird I don't for him and neither does my husband.
  12. Thanks. His daddy was pretty upset by all of this. I think dad wasn't prepared for anyone else to have to be gluten free. It's different for him to eat his gluten stuff in front of me since I don't care, but he knows he will not be able to so much with him now. Also the boys have a boys day out every other weekend when I am working. They usually go for...
  13. He is officially going gluten free in the morning. He had a positive tTG. Here is a post of what we found out.
  14. Gluten free isn't going to hurt the other kids. It sounds like maybe they may be gluten intolerent too since you mention your daughter threw up every time she had something with gluten. Something to think about. My kids eat all our meals together gluten free and they have not had any issue. However, my youngest son is officially gluten free tommorow....
  15. I'm not disputing that people can react to what an animal eats. But in your example it sounds like the bird's feathers were contaminated by touching the soybeans and when the bird was cleaned and dressed the meat was further contaminated. That really sucks for your friend.
  16. I get to pack my first "kids" gluten free lunch tommorow. I just found out today that my 5 yo had a positive tTg. Based on his symptoms, my diagnosis and his positive test we are not going to do the biopsy and just go gluten free. Luckily he likes alot of my gluten free stuff, fruits, veggies, yogurt, Udi's bread, and rice cakes that I think he will make...
  17. I took my almost 6 year old back to the allergist today because his symptoms have not improved since he had his allergy testing. Just a recap I had my son restested for allergies Nov. 3rd. He has been tested twice before and current and past have all been negative. He has had continued rhinosinusitis since an infant. He had reflux, RAD and constant infections...
  18. Was the tenderloin a fresh one or preseasoned one?
  19. You definately get what you pay for when it comes to coconut oil. I buy Nutivia organic extra virgin coconut oil and it is pretty reasonably priced for what it is. I seem to do better price wise ordering it online than buying it locally.
  20. What about making two smaller balls and dividing the people into groups?

ARCHIVED Did She Get Over It?

I know someday she would like children. You never know until you start trying whether or not you are able. I told her that it can be linked to infertility. I just hope she gets some answers. And she knows it isn't something you "get over" that you stay healthy by avoiding the gluten.

ARCHIVED Did She Get Over It?

My sister in law was telling me that my neice has been having some GI issues and has been seeing the doctor. I mentioned to her that my niece should tell them that her aunt has celiac at her next appointment. Well, I was chatting to my niece online this morning and she told me she was going to get tested. Long story short she is one of my brother's three...
  23. Went Mon. for blood work for venom allergy testing and the celiac workup. The NP, upon hearing his symptoms (his symptoms have progressed and has been taking xyzal, nasocort, singulair and astepro since last Wed. after testing. Having more of the same, post nasal drip and a horrible cough) wanted to check his IgG, IgA, IgE, and IgM to see if he had enough...

    ARCHIVED Moving A Topic

    Thanks Peter!!
  25. I was wondering if this discussion could be move to a different area, for example other food intolerences or pre diagnosis? Not sure which one it would fit in better but it really doesn't belong in the gab/chat room. Thanks a bunch!
