ARCHIVED Need Pasta Ideas.
Wenmin replied to Juliebove's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
This is a recipe that I used to make often before Gluten Free. Although I think you can find the ingredients to adapt to being gluten free. Tuna and Macaroni Salad Ingredients: 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni 2 cans (6 ounces) light water-packed tuna, drained and flaked 2/3 cups chopped bell pepper 2/3 cup chopped celery 1/2 cup shredded carrots... -
This is a recipe that has been in my family as long as I can remember. My mom's grandmother used to make these. They are really quite good with regular flour, but I'm sure you could substitute gluten free flour as well. We usually eat them plain and the children tend to top with powdered sugar. I'm also sure you could put a glazed icing over them.......

Wenmin replied to momxyz's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I used Namaste Perfect Flour Blend to make pumpkin rolls, caramel rolls, lemon rolls, coconut rolls and banana cake this holiday season. All were used in a 1:1 ratio with recipe calling for "wheat flour." Everything was wonderful! -
I've always had problems with bandaids, tape, certain kinds of depdorant, etc. To the point that I would bleed when these were used. Now when I go the the doctor, I request just a gauze and I apply the pressure for a few minutes. Wenmin

Wenmin replied to sarahelizabeth's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Try the omlet in the ziploc idea. A big bowl of scrambled eggs with other side bowls of onions, mushrooms, cheese, etc. Let each person scoop some eggs into his or her own bag and add ingredients that each person wants. Not quite sure of the amount of time to cook, because I haven't tried these, but saw the recipe several times. Zap in the microwave.... -

ARCHIVED Cookie Exchange Parties
Wenmin replied to Shess0816's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Just made a batch of these last night (old family recipe). They're not really cookies, but rather a type of doughnut.... Once removed from the grease, let them drain for a very short time, then shake them in a ziploc bag of powdered sugar. They are good cold or hot! (you could use a little more milk and drop them by spoonfulls into the grease, I'm sure... -

I just used Namaste Perfect Flour Blend this Thanksgiving to make a pumpkin roll and a banana cake. The best sweets I baked since going gluten free 18 months ago. Both were delicious and very moist. ARCHIVED Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert
Wenmin replied to Ahorsesoul's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
HAAA! I have to defend myself here. It has never happened to me, but I do know that it has happened to several people before. I always boil them ahead of time and don't open until the day after they are boiled...... -
This recipe is very similar to mine! Open Original Shared Link A small tip that will make things much easier for you: sprinkle regular granulated sugar on the towel or wax paper before rolling the cake. Powdered sugar does not work as well as granulated sugar..... My recipe was handed down from family members. You can freeze any kind of roll...

ARCHIVED Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert
Wenmin replied to Ahorsesoul's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Where did you find gluten free ice cream sandwiches? I made this dessert many times (with glutened ice cream sandwiches) before going gluten free for family gatherings. Everyone loves it! By the way, when I make caramel by boiling cans of condensed milk, I boil 8 cans at a time. Once boiled, they last for up to 2 years in the pantry (I remove the condensed... -

Glamour, Born and raised in SOUTH Louisiana, (South of New Orleans, about 40 miles from the Gulf of Mexico) I agree with you. A real gumbo needs a roux. File is to thicken the gumbo after it is cooked and also used as a garnish. Also, Thanks for the internet search. It was a modified version that you found on the net that I ended up using.... ...

Wash each sweet potato and place in pan sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake at 350 degrees for about 2-3 hours. Eat what you want the first night, adding butter and cinnamon sugar, or whatever you like. Place leftover in refrigerator. The next day, peel each potato and cut into thin slices (1/2 inch thick), layer in deep baking dish and put brown sugar...
