.From Previous Post "For example, I know people here have said that they eat at Chiopotle but, the one I went to last week was a "hawt mess". Everybody was touching everything and there was no way in the world that changing the gloves at this location would have made any difference." We feel the same way about all the Chipotles we have visited. ...

We love the Pamelas pancake and baking mix. We buy it in a 4 lb bag and we use it for everything, including pancakse and waffles. I serve the waffles to our family and friends who do not have to eat gluten free, and they like these gluten-free waffles better than their own. Try it out! I hope you like them as much as we do

Thanks! I didn't know Arby's had any gluten free options. I will check out their website.

ARCHIVED Disney Vacation And Celiacs
Darissa replied to PKay's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
We had season passes to Disneyland for a year after finding out about Celiac. We never did the meal plan, but we purchased our food at the park and hotels. Disney did a great job. They have a list you pick up when you first walk into the park at Disneyland that has all the resturants and what they have that is gluten free. Every dining experience we had... -

ARCHIVED Ruby Tuesdays Gluten Free Menu.
Darissa replied to Igg postive's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
We have eaten at Ruby Tuesday only once, in Branson Missouri last year on vacation. The menu was more limited at that time, it seems to have expanded. We went on off hours, it was not busy, we talked to the mananger and we both ordered one of the bacon cheeseburgers without bun and baked potato and salad. Neither one of us got sick. That was are only experience... -
We eat at PFChangs all the time. We live in Arizona, and have had no problems, but we have also eaten at the resturants in California, Utah, Missouri and other states. Please try again. Normally they are very careful. Gluten free dishes should all come out on a round plate, that says PFChangs right on the plate. It is a different plate than the regular...

ARCHIVED Eating At Other People's Homes
Darissa replied to katiekay's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
We either bring our own food or snacks, or we just eat at home prior, and go over to visit. That seems to be the best for us. We have tried to eat at other peoples houses, and it just ddoesn't work out for us. My daughter and I are both very sensitive to CC. We go to dinner parties to socialize and visit, and not to eat. I make sure the host knows prior... -

ARCHIVED Controversial Facebook Post By Chef

I hope that he can soon realize the importance of why people maintain a gluten free diet and respond appropriately to their needs. He needs a lot of education regarding Celiac. -

I wonder how many times this happens when you go to out to eat. -
We love PFChangs. My daughter and I are very sensitive to CC, and we always do good at PFChangs. Sorry you had a bad experience. We have eaten at many PFCHangs in many different states. They are our standard go-to resturant when we travel because we don't get sick eating there. I would give them another try. We love the egg drop soup and ginger chicken and...

ARCHIVED Rudi's gluten-free Bread Costco
Darissa replied to LDJofDenver's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I so hope our Costco's here in the Phoenix valley carry them soon! I pay 6.99 a loaf for Rudi's at Whole Foods. That would be like half price at Costco! And we really like the Rudi's bread too. Thanks for the heads up! -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Medication Question
Darissa replied to angm's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Equate is normally pretty good if you call the number on the bottle they will look it up and tell you if it contains gluten or not. Just an FYI I was at Costco this week and picked up my Kirkland brand of Claritin and Aleve, and right on both of the bottles they say "gluten free"! Ya! I called the company just to say Thank You! I love when products are... -

ARCHIVED Garden Lites Zuchinni Souffle - Frozen At Costco
Darissa replied to Darissa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I hope you can find them too! I was at a different Costco in the Valley last week, and didn't see them. You might keep checking if they don't have them yet. I hope our Costco continues to carry them. Sometimes you never know with Costco. They will have a product for a while, and than they are gone! That happened with one of my favorite gluten free cereals... -

ARCHIVED Garden Lites Zuchinni Souffle - Frozen At Costco
Darissa posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was at costco today and found a new product. It is labeled gluten free right on the front on of the box, which is what caught my attention! It is a zuchinni souffle, no cheese, individually served. There were 6 in a package for 11.99. I cooked one as soon as I got home home. It was really good. Microwave for 4 1/2 min. total. Very quick. I would have... -

ARCHIVED Dessert At Outback Steakhouse
Darissa replied to Chrissie's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I have eaten their thunder down under desert many many times! I really love it. I am very sensitive to CC, and it has never bothered me. I do have to share the desert, becuase if I eat too much of it, there is so much fat in the cake and icecream, that the fat contect bothers me, but I have never gotten sick from gluten from it. Good luck. Don't be afraid... -

ARCHIVED Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Darissa replied to aeryn's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Philadelphia Cream Cheese varities from Kraft are a staple at our house ( I know cream cheese shouldn't be a staple:) But we use it in a lot of recipes, dips, etc. We have never had any problems and are very sensitive to CC. Good luck. -
My reply 1-6-11 from Cheesecake Factory regarding gluten free menu: Dear Ms. Perry: Thank you for your interest in The Cheesecake Factory. At this time we do not have a separate gluten free menu. We do offer a number of dishes that are gluten free or that can be modified to be gluten free. I do encourage you to ask a server or a manager to help you...

ARCHIVED I Miss My Jiffy Cornbread!
Darissa replied to CrazyforCandles's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Here is my homemade recipe if I don't have the Pamelas Cornbread mix. It is really good too. It is sweet, so you can cut down on the sugar if you want to 1/2 cup, but my family likes a sweet cornbread. 1 cup Pamela's pancake and baking mix 1 cup Arrowhead Mills Organic gluten-free Yellow Corn Meal 2/3 cup white sugar (may cut to 1/2 cup if you want... -

ARCHIVED I Miss My Jiffy Cornbread!
Darissa replied to CrazyforCandles's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Pamelas Cornbread mix is amazing! So easy! So good! Better than Jiffy. My gluten eating extended family loves it. -
Wow thanks for showing me that. When we visited the resturant last, they didn't have that allergan menu, but assured me that the Godiva was gluten-free. We ate it, and didn't get sick, and normally we are very sensitive to CC. I'm glad to know that its not considered gluten-free now. I do want to try Red Lobsters gluten free crustless cheesecake. It is...

The Godiva Choclate Cheesecake was gluten free as of 3 months ago. Thats all we ordered. It was good, and my daughter and I did not get sick. Very rich, very chocolatey. My daughter thought it was too rich, but I enjoyed it! They said when we were there that they were working on a gluten free menu, but didn't have one at the time. They thought it would...

ARCHIVED Response From Post Re: Fruitty Pebbles
Darissa replied to Darissa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Found them at Walmart and Safeway here in Arizona. They don't say gluten free on the front of the box, only on the side of the box, on the top, above the nutrition label. Hard to see unless you are looking for it. My kids want me to make rice krispie treats with them also. We normally use "rice twice" for rice krispie treats, which works great, but like...
