  1. Herb Ox boullion cubes are gluten-free. They say so right on the package. I can't find them at Walmart or Frys (Krogger store) buy Safeway here carries them. I don't know about Knorr. I was happy to find the Herb Ox. I love when products are actually labeled gluten-free. Makes shopping so much easier!!
  2. We use Udi's bread and make peanut butter and honey sandwiches. Not too exciting, but they last long, don't have to stay cold and work out good. The Udi's brand of bread is good when it is thawed and it doesn't have to be toasted. Good luck.
  3. We don't eat the fries at McDonalds, but we do love the frys at ChickFilA and also In and Out. Both are in dedicated fryers. Neither one has gluten in the actual fries. They are both Very good! Both places we visit are always willing to cook us new fries so there is no CC from handeling the fires.
  4. I contacted Ore-Ida yesterday and they sent me an updated list of all of their gluten free products. Its nice to have a list, but as always, remember to read ingredients as they can change. It is a long list. Ya! Here is a copy of my email. March 10, 2010 Dear Darissa, Thank you for your interest in Heinz Products. We certainly understand how...
  5. In AZ, the new gluten-free menu at PF Changs starts this weekend. I got the email today. Here is a link. They have added an additional 5 beef items that sound great! I know where we will be going this weekend! Here is the link. Open Original Shared Link Enjoy!
  6. I use my pre-gluten baking days recipe for zucchini bread and replace the flour with Pamelas Pancake and Baking mix. I don't add zanthum gum because the Pameala's mix already has it in it. I also do not add my baking powder or soda since it is in the mix too. I do add an extra egg for moisture. I use a lot of my old recipes (prior to gluten-free baking...
  7. I dip my chicken pieces in egg, than dredge in 1/2 cornstarch and 1/2 rice flour that has been seasoned with salt/pepper and garlic powder. I than fry it in pan with oil just like I used to prior to going gluten-free. Not healthy I know.. since frying it in oil..but nice treat every once in a while. I do a baked "fried" chicken recipe and dip the chicken...
  8. We love Udi's whole grain bread. We find it in the freezer section of our local health food stores. It is really good warmed in the microwave for 20 sec or in a toaster. We also use it for French Bread for breakfast. It is really good. We have tried all the other brands in the store, and did not like any of them until we found this one. Worth a try. I...
  9. In Joplin, Mo there is a health food store called Suzannes off of 32nd street inbetween Main and Rangeline that carries a selection of gluten-free items. We shop there when we are in town visiting family. There is a Fox Whole Foods..not sure the name is right...also in Joplin that I've heard has gluten-free baking items and foods. I have not been to that...
  10. We love Hot Cereal from Bob's Red Mill called "Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal"...so good. My family came to visit from out of town, and they (all gluten eaters) all loved it, even the kids. It is good plain, or with honey or brown sugar, strawberries or bananas. It does take 5 min to boil water and than 10 min to cook. (If I don't have time to watch it cook.....
  11. We dinned at the PF Changs in Tempe AZ over Valentines Day weekend. We were told by the staff there that as of March 18, 2010, their gluten free menu would be much expanded, to include pork and beef items. She said the items will double that they offer for gluten free dining! I am so excitied! We love PF Changs and I am excitied to be able to eat the beef...
  12. Thanks for the info. I wished the smaller starbucks, especially the ones in the airport would carry them! We travel a lot, and it would be so nice.
  13. My 9 yr daughter weighed 46 lbs when we found out she had celiac disease. She gained 14 lbs her first year of being on a strick gluten-free diet. She is still much smaller than they other kids in her class, but she is growing so much better now. Prior to her Dx of celiac disease, we had her growth hormones tested, and all were within normal range. How...
  14. If you can have corn, we love corn pasta much more than rice pasta. We use Mrs. Leepers corn pastas. WE buy them at our local Walmart and at Whole Foods. You can also buy them over the web. IMHO, they hold up much better and taste much better than the rice. We serve them to guest when they come over and they have no idea they are eating a gluten free corn...
  15. We LOVE PAMELA's baking and pancake mix. We use it in everything, especially my old recipes that call for gluten flours. We just replace it cup for cup. I know its expensive, but I buy it when it goes on sale and I only buy the 4 lb bag. Much cheaper. We love it for bannana muffins and blueberry muffins, crepes, cookies, all kinds of stuff. Give it a try...
  16. We love both the Gluten Free Pantry and the Betty Crocker. Just be careful not to over bake either one, as I find they harden if cooked too long (just like any brownie). We alot of time add mint extract to the mix, or mint chocolate chips and they taste sooo good. I just found a new recipe online today for mint chocolate chip brownies using the Betty Crocker...
  17. We love RICE TWICE from Erewhon. And it makes great rice krispie treats!
  18. WE love all the different Chex that are gluten free, especially the honey nut and cinnamon chex. We have never gotten sick from them! We appreciate General Mills for all of their gluten free items!
  19. Costco's Kirkland brand canned chicken is gluten free. I have contacted them and it is gluten free. We eat it all the time with no problems. Good luck! Darissa
  20. We also try and visit the store on off hours, before or after the lunch/dinner rush, and than things seem to go better.
  21. We always ask to talk to a manager after we are seated. Most of the time we have had good experiences. It really depends on the Outback. We have eaten at them in different states, and most of the time it is good. But I find, If I do talk to the manager, than things go much more smoothly. Good luck! Enjoy! We like the Alice Spring Chicken from the menu...
  22. For Angel Food Cake we use Blue Chip Group gluten-free angel food cake. It is so good. My favorite gluten free cake. I have not been able to find the Gluten Free Pantry Angel food cake online or in our local stores. You might give this a try. We really enjoy it. I fed it to guest that we had over for dinner, and they had no idea it was gluten-free! So yummy...
