  1. Gad does have a good thought there, since you are home all day with them that would help tremendously for you, they will be healthier. Going gluten free will not harm them at all, in fact it may help them also, because gluten can cause ADHD, as well as other childhood issues that you may not realize gluten was doing to them. Try it, you might like it.
  2. I'm glad you're feeling better. Some of us are sensitive enough to get cc'd by the plastic and teflon pans. Since I have been by myself I've not had to worry about the platic, it was when I was with my ex that I was getting cc'd almost constantly. Not fun at all. Anyway, i'm glad you are starting to figure it out.
  3. Oh man, the gluten free oats, soy, the tomato and the garlic would make me sick for sure, Uuuuhh, I would be on the couch or in bed with D and feeling like I got run over by a truck.
  4. Both dairy and soy for me, uuuhhhhhh!
  5. I was anemic from the time I was 7 years old. No amount of iron pills or even iron injections would take care of it. It went away after being gluten free for 3 months. My dr's were astonished and my last dr had the nerve to tell me that it had nothing to do with what I was eating. Needless to say I got another dr.
  6. Yes, casien can do that as well as soy too. I would eliminate that as well, The reason we suggest new pans at least is because if they are scratched, gluten can be hiding in those and there is no way you can wash them out, same with the collander and wooden cutting boards. Also, you may be going through withdrawal, that can last for a while and then one...
  7. Hi There Ox, I'm sorry you are still having issues. Please hang in there, it took some of us 2 to 3 months or longer before we started feeling better. Do you have a gluten free household? If not then you may have a harder time because you can be continuously cross contaminated, expecially by your little ones. Have you replaced your cooking pans, toaster...
  8. Thanks Peter, whew! What a relief.
  9. Was wondering if lipton teas have been proven to have gluten in their tea bags. Someone I know was telling me that it did and I was wondering. I've tried researching it but can't find anything on it. This is what I have been drinking a lot of, so just wondering if it's true. I should have included this question with my earlier post on teas but I forgot.
  10. Was just wondering which of the gluten free herbal teas out there that a lot of you prefer?
  11. Hi Selly, the (Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned) has a good article about the relation between the two.
  12. I'm sorry you feel so bad, I have heard that craisins are dusted with flour, not for sure.
  13. Hi Roonie, since she has been gluten free for so long she is no longer making antbodies from the gluten, so she will test negative. She will have to do a gluten challenge. She has to be eating 2 to 3 slices of bread or equvilant for about 2 months at least before she might have a positive blood test or biopsy. I said might because even after a gluten challenge...
  14. From everything I have read and researched she would still be doing damage to her insides even if she showed no outward symptoms. Later on in life she could develop all sorts of auto immune issues that a lot of us has had to deal with including cancer. Now, remember, this is just my opinion. But, I would keep her gluten free. Good luck
  15. Could be a side effect of the meds but then I get those same symptoms when I eat to much soy and/or nightshades. Then again, you may have gotten some gluten or cc somewhere also. Yes, this definetly sucks. I hope you get to feeling better.

    ARCHIVED Worth Getting Diagnosed?

I agree with Cool, I also believe gluten intolerant is just the begining stages of Celiac. I tell all my relatives and friends that I am Celiac. No one has aked to see any paperwork yet. lol
  17. I'm sorry you feel so lousy. I'm in the US so I can't help you there. Just want to give you some encouragement to stick with it, I hope you get to feeling a lot better.
  18. Very interesting, Thank you for that.
  19. Mushrooms are not in the nightshade family, but you might have an intolerance to them, having nothing to do with gluten. You might want to test that theory. I will not eat in an asian restaurant. To easy to get glutened or cc'd. I Know, took 3 times for me to finally get it through my head, duh. lol
  20. I had social anxiety disorder and depression since I was a kid and most of my adulthood. No matter what kind of meds I was on it would only help a little, never went away until 7 months into my gluten free diet but I had to remove dairy and soy also as they affect my anxiety and depression too. As long as I keep all three out of my system i'm hunky dory.
  21. Right at the moment i'm thinking the lactaid milk and tablets aren't working. I'd go off them for a couple of weeks to see if that is any help or are you eating a lot of nightshades? The nightshades cause those same problems with me too.

    ARCHIVED Worth Getting Diagnosed?

The only question I have for you is, Do you need a piece of paper that might tell you that you have Celiac? The only treatment there is is what you are doing. Now, you might want to do a biopsy to see if you have any damage but you have been gluten free for over a year. Your intestines may have healed by now and not show any damage at all. You might want...
  23. There are no blood tests for fibro, doc mainly listens to your symptoms then does a lot of checking the trigger point areas to see how you react. But will run blood tests for other problems like lupus, thyroid, etc. At least that's what mine did anyway.
  24. Gluten caused me a little joint pain and swelling but I have found what was causing my main swelling and eye problems were the nightshade vegetables. (potatoes, tomatoes, all bell peppers and eggplant). Once I got rid of those the joint pain, swelling and my eye problems went away. Give it a try.
  25. My asthma eased up when I went gluten free but it wasn't until I went dairy and soy free also that it went completely away. since I was a kid I would get athsmatic bronchitis at least twice a year. Since I kicked everything out I have not had one attack yet. Knock on wood.
