ARCHIVED Changing From A Shared Kitchen To All Guten Free Kitchen
tmbarke replied to Roda's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I can relate to the shared kitchen! I have very little trust in many things. I disinfect the counter before I do any food preps. I found that the milk jug....is used without a glass when I'm not around! The margarine container can NOT be shared either. I have never had a problem with sharing gluten-free pasta with the others since no one can tell the... -
Welcome! I know it all gets overwhelming, and we've all gone thru the learning stages with trials and errors too. My first 3 weeks were a 'detox' of gluten and that was tough. I was going to the bathroom 3-4-5-6 times a day...felt drained and dilerious from the withdrawls and then I got reglutened and felt like I had a flu. (it was ham) I just recently...

ARCHIVED How Do You Respond To Things Like This?
tmbarke replied to bluebonnet's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know it sounds hard to do - but treat it like THEY aren't controlling your health and stick with it.....there are ALWAYS ultimatums and compromises to be made. Do the girl's nite....Let them eat the not good stuff and you eat some good stuff you've brought for you....I'll bet they wouldn't know the difference between a gluten free cake made well....and... -
ARCHIVED Progresso Creamy Mushroom Soup
tmbarke replied to momofcdson's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've used 3 cans of it now and have not had any reactions. I've actually cooked liver in it and made a shephards pie too. I've had to add a bit of Bob's flour to thicken it as liquids from any other source thin it out. I truly have not had any reactions from the sales in Michigan. -
Hi Bea, I found this article - it's pretty interesting and gives the medical perspective of Green Tea for you. Open Original Shared Link Hope you can get what you need out of it...I thought the first page was intriguing since I drink it too. Tena

tmbarke replied to sandsurfgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I started feeling better after a few days - then like ditzy dumbo thru withdrawls...which you're gonna want to have someone help with the kids during this as you could possibly do something dangerous like turn the stove on and pour pancake batter right on the burner....I know it sounds far fetched but have someone nearby you can call to make sure your children... -

Richard, I clicked the link above - they are always updated to the day when you click a link - I don't have the regards at this time about the numbers to look for - but the disclaimer was there.....I haven't felt like this in a long time since I'm so careful and only gradually add a new sauce or candy....but it's very random that I do so. Before going gluten free - I had heartburn 2-3x's a day! I've had to take prilosec with my vitamins and supplements daily I'd get heartburn from coffee and citric acids and tomatoes. I no longer have heartburn issues - which is a wonderful relief to me as I've dealt with it daily for years! Its amazing how our lives change by changing our diets -

Fruits Vegetables Whole Meats Milk Eggs Nuts Brown Rice It is best to avoid processed foods at this stage. You can check the FAQ's on websites to check the gluten contents of their products. I found that Hormel meats will state Gluten Free...
