  1. Meatslayer, It is different for everyone. Everyone's body reacts differently. That is why there are so many different symptoms. We don't all have the same symptoms either. Jackay
  2. I feel a lot better but still have insomnia, muscle pain, headaches and gas which I feel are from intestine candida and other food intolerances. The anxiety is gone and believe me that was extreme. The depression is better and I no longer have diarrhea so in some ways I am way better. I know when I accidentally get glutened because I get diarrhea and...
  3. Hormel Natural Choice states it is gluten free on the package.
  4. Kenlove, I had a bone density test done before my surgery and had osteopenia. Supposably it is suppose to reverse quickly after surgery. My endocronologist hasn't mentioned having it rechecked. I'ts been 11 months since I had my surgery. I really would like to know if it reversed. Jackay
  5. I had hyperparathyroidism and had surgery to remove three plus parathyroid glands. I was having irregular heartbeats back when I was so sick with that and before I went gluten free. My heartbeat is normal now but unfortunately I still hear my pulse.
  6. Bluebonnet, This is called Pulsatile or Vascular Tinnitus. There are different causes for it. I have had it for most of 4 1/2 years. It went away for a short time about 15 months ago but returned. Mine started when I got extremely high blood pressure from severe headaches. It didn't go away when I went on blood pressure medication. I got the headaches...
  7. I'm praying for Heather and her family. Keep us posted on how she is doing.
  8. I love this too but often couldn't wait for it to get brown and crispy since I also love melted cheese. I'm off dairy now but this is something to look forward to when I can add it back. I completely forgot about this comfort food. Eating a hunk of cheese just doesn't do it.
  9. Love it! Hope there are lots more celiac jokes.
  10. I hope you were putting humor into this. On the serious side, that is exactly how I felt. I question everything that goes into or on my body.
  11. David, Try giving up the granola. Even if it has gluten free oatmeal in it, some gluten intolerant individuals react to oats.
  12. First give up the artificial sweetener. That gives lots of people problems. If you still don't feel better, give up the fruits for a while. You could also have fructose intolerance. I've given up fruit for the time being. It's hard to get enough calories without it.
  13. I, too, get gas from so many foods, especially dried beans and onions. I wonder how much of this gas is normal as they are both gas producing foods. I don't know if I should continue eating them or not.
  14. I suggest you have your thyroid checked. Good luck! I'm sure you will find the reason why this is happening and it will turn around soon.

    ARCHIVED So Confused

Reba, I do expect fructose to be part of my problem. I was relying heavily on fruits and starchy vegetables for the calories. As far as testing for the food intolerances, fructose showed up as a moderate intolerance yet many fruits showed up as acceptable. My doctor said that the acceptable fruits would be O.K. but I couldn't have anything with added...

    ARCHIVED So Confused

Thanks Wolicki, I'll give this a try. No, I never ate millet, quinoa or buckwheat before going gluten free. I did test intolerant to many foods that I hadn't ever eaten or hadn't eaten in a very long time which are veal, venison, mackerel, beets, duck, lamb, sheep's milk, anchovy, carob, crayfish, kelp, mussel and tilapia. I question the seafood as...
  17. Grilling season is soon upon us. Is it possible to get gluten off a grill? I don't think we've used any barbeque sauce on this grill but my husband did make hamburgers with some oatmeal added to them. Will I high enough temperature burn that off? I know I can grill my food on foil but would like the flavor my meat would get by cooking directly on the...
  18. I don't think anyone can understand the severity of gluten intolerance unless they experience it. My friends are all supportive even though I think a lot of them think it is all in my head. It is hard to give up so much and still not feel good.
  19. Passionfruit, How long have you been on the candida cleanse? Often times you feel worse (as the candida dies off) before you start feeling better.
  20. Could you possibly reacting to the whatever you are taking for the candida cleanse? Another problem could be kissing your husband if he still consumes beer and bread.
  21. I understand your frustration as I am going through the same thing after being so very careful for about 90 days. I am guessing I am getting cc every couple of weeks. This is a bad one as not only did I get my usual D and insomnia but also headache and depression. The D seems to have passed and I managed to get some, but not enough sleep last night. The...

    ARCHIVED So Confused

Janie, Some of your symptoms sound typical to me. I also had C and gas for over ten years along with constant fatigue . I started taking a multi-strain probiotic which helped the C and gas but not the fatigue. Then a couple years down the line, I developed severe insomnia and anxiety. I suffered with that for a few years before the D kicked in. Nothing...

    ARCHIVED So Confused

Janie, How did you find out your other food intolerances? Through blood work, I tested intolerant to so many foods. My doctor wants me eating the remaining foods on a four day rotation so I don't develop intolerances to them. I gave up gluten about 9 months ago but only became aware of cross contamination about three months ago. I started avoiding...
  24. My oseopath feels that I should be able to bring back all or most of the foods I tested sensitive to except for the gluten. That is the only definite one that I have to avoid forever. My osteopath also has me try a lot of supplements. Unfortunately, I have had extreme reactions to any herbal ones that I've tried, mostly urinary pain and frequency....
