  1. i have been using dove for my soap and for lotion i have been using burt's bees baby lotion. bare escentuals is pricey but they have gluten free makeup and skin care. for less expensive i have heard that garnier (not sure if that is spelled right) products have a lot of gluten free but check labels of course. and i will check into those after i have depleted...
  2. joint pain seems to be sticking around for me because of unfortunate cc during vacation and working at summer camp. i washed my jeep and the next day i felt so incredibly bruised in my shoulder blade near my spine as well as my sternum that i thought it was maybe a heart attack. along with horrible knee and hip pain. its very scary to feel that bad. just...
  3. i was diagnosed with celiac and have been gluten free since jan of this year (with the exception of some accidental cc's and a few weeks of a gluten challenge). i am being told my hair is looking thicker. i personally feel like there is not much improvement up there yet. i did notice in may when i did the challenge that i was losing gobs of hair and after...
  4. can you have watermelon ... that's soft and refreshing. chocolate milk and tea. hope it goes well!
  5. i've been trying to do more crunches/ab workouts but i always feel this weird pulling sensation during and after. now that i know i have a hiatal hernia i'm not sure if that was the pain i felt or if i should continue to do situps. its definitely something more than me feeling the burn from a good workout.
  6. i try to eat lots of different things but this is a typical meal plan. i don't have dairy or soy or nightshade problems. oh, i also eat too much candy. breakfast- coffee with 1/2 n 1/2, chocolate milk, cheesy grits + fruit of some sort lunch- big garden salad with protein of some sort (low fat cheese, chick peas, turkey, chicken, egg or avacado...
  7. i tested negative for RA but have severe bone and joint pain. i have bursitis in my hip and degenerative spine changes (in my 30's). i was deficient in D even with daily supplements and regular sunshine. i'm noticing some improvement as the months go by though. best wishes! (also, i wanted to add that they tested me for RA waaay before celiac thinking...
  8. yay ... good for you!!! love hearing happy news!
  9. i've haven't made a signature yet but i had just about every symptom ... gi, bloating, ataxia, bone and joint pain, insomnia, brain fog, numbness and tingling in arms, feet and legs, vit d deficient, unbelievably dry eyes, dh, hair loss, hypothyroid and just overall blah. i have seen improvement so far and most especially with my gi and dh. i have seen some...
  10. i know!!! i am sooo glad this was recommended to me in another post! i just bought some horrific gluten free frozen bagels from glutino and i couldn't get past the smell. i'm sure some are happy with that brand but its not for me. udi though ... whooo hooo! sandwiches are back!
  11. sounds like you should get your thyriod checked to make sure you medication is sufficient. don't know how long you've been on synthroid but being that tired sounds like hypothyroid or anemia?? good luck!
  12. my bf is going thru these attacks as well. she had a couple of tests that revealed no sludge or stones but her doctor said the tests are inconclusive and that her gall bladder may not be functioning properly. definitely try a strict gluten free diet and see if you notice improvement. my bf also for months went completely low fat/no fat and she was told...
  13. i can't take benedryl because of svt but i have found a generous dose of the topical calamine lotion helps with the itching/burning. it only helps deal though ... gotta stay away from gluten for total healing.
  14. i have major bloating and messed up bowels but the joint pain can be downright miserable. if i get them together i know i must have gotten cc. i try very hard daily to make sure what i'm eating is gluten free. so far there have only been a couple of times where i REALLY badly wanted something off limits but the craving passes ... especially if you focus...
  15. your definitely right about the sorbitol. breath mints, gum, cereal would all give me a stomach ache. have you tried the boar's head brand of hot dogs? they have skinless and aren't greasy. they do of course have the nitrates/ nitrites but great flavor (which is why we always bought the nathan's).
  16. burt's bees, smashbox (most if not all) and bare minerals (most if not all).
  17. the brownies are a bit dry but i throw in some extra chocolate chips and a 1T or 2 of water and they are nice and moist. too good.
  18. burt's bees tinted lip balms have fun color and gluten free. i also like their baby bee body lotion. (target) bare minerals and smash box are gluten free too. (sephora) if you tend to wash your hands a lot nutragena hand cream is nice. (target) for hair i've been using "surface" line from shampoo/conditioner to the gel and hairspray. (available in salons...
  19. unfortunately early on i reacted to their food. most likely cc. it could be the particular restaurant i ate at but i won't ever chance it again. i looooved panera and miss it so i'm not bad mouthing it. its one of those i miss for sure!
  20. the squares are NOT gluten free but the baking chips are ... i eat those like candy with no problems at all.
  21. i know, i haven't had any luck so i thought i'd check here and see if anyone knew. i will keep trying them and report back what answer i receive.
  22. i too was super tired just after going gluten free. i went to bed hours earlier than i normally did and just felt like i was dragging all day. if i closed my eyes i felt like i could immediately fall asleep ... if only for a short little nap. i figured it was because of my insomnia but after seraching around here i found out others had the same type of...
  23. just curious if anyone has heard if m&m's are still gluten free? now that they are making pretzel filled m&m's i wasn't sure if cc is a risk now.
  24. definitely drink up the water for ease but i have to say if you aren't allergic to them ... chickpeas! lots of good fiber in them and just being honest here, they move things along. throw 'em on your salad or eat them on their own or as a side dish. here's how i like 'em: preheat oven to 400 glass pie pan/pryrex baking dish 1 can drained...
